    This series couldn’t come at a better time. Trying to get Wayland hyprland on an existing Debian install.
    Cause, why not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Right! I sure hope it helps you along your way. Far from perfect but I've had a lot of positive response to it so here's to hoping you find something useful in it!
      Thanks for tuning in! I appreciate you

    Hey brother, I’ve already installed Arch Linux, but could you make a video showing how to install Hyprland from scratch?
    It would be great if you could also cover:
    1. Installing and setting up some cool dotfiles
    2. Configuring a navbar (like Waybar)
    3. Switching between multiple dotfiles easily, just like in some r/unixporn posts where users seamlessly switch between different setups from their desktop.
    A clear, well-structured guide (without too much confusion) would be really helpful! Looking forward to it! 🙌🔥

      @@gianhoon im not yet privy to some of the more advanced methods but I'm getting there. I'll update the guide when I can.
      Until then check out the full guide in the link description. It goes over everything from setting up a modular configuration that's easier to work with then breaks down each portion of the configuration.

    Hello, good evening friend. I'm Brazilian and I really like your videos, recently I'm facing a super annoying problem in Arch Linux that occurs right when I try to log in after installing the system.
    I enter the password, the screen loops and returns to login, it stays like that infinitely and I can't log in.
    Would you have an idea how to fix this problem?

    • @alphaobeisance
      @alphaobeisance  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When you reach the login screen (sddm), at the top left of the screen there is a drop down menu. Make sure you've selected the option that states simply "Hyprland", as it may not let you log in if it says "Hyprland (uwsm-managed)" . See if it'll let you log in after that. If the issue persists feel free to join my discord (see description) and I can talk with you about the issue in real time and maybe try to get a better idea of how to help.

    Just found your channel. Love the series, would most definitely like a as you call it an og install of Archlinux. BTW do you have a link to the pdf of the og install I see in your video? In the og install would like to you see Hyprland installed.

    Hi brother, you showed the Hyprland (uwsm-managed) and Hyprland option. I have only the Hyprland(uwsm-managed) option and i cannot login through that. And i have to go to the tty to login. Is there any solution to get the second option??

    • @alphaobeisance
      @alphaobeisance  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      if you're on arch, you should have both options by installing hyprland with
      sudo pacman -S hyprland
      if that's not working (not sure why it wouldn't) you could try the latest commit to master with
      sudo pacman -S hyprland-git
      Give that a go and lemme know. I'm not doin much today so I'd be glad to help as I can.

      @alphaobeisance i found the solution, we have to delete the hyprland-uwsm-manage file from the wayland sessions folder and keep only the hyprland.desktop file. Then it will show the option and not show the other one. And great work on the video brother. 👍 Keep up the good work

    you dont use nixos anymore? i was checking your nixos video cuz i im interested on try nix but the video on the topic i want was 10 months old and now you are using arch linux so my question is nixos worth ? why are you back on arch after all the time that you daily drive nixos what is your opinion on that distro do you recommend to use nixos i want a distro for gaming and programming , for gaming a want kde desktop and hyprland for dev stuff .

    • @alphaobeisance
      @alphaobeisance  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      So first and foremost NixOS is fantastic. And honestly the only reason I went back to Arch was because Arch is what made me a power user and I just really; really like it lol.
      Truth be told if you want to DIY your system to ensure it's purpose built, you can pick Arch,Fedora, or Debian. NixOS works perfectly fine too, but it's got a more niche build system (a great one mind you, once you understand it).
      With my limited knowledge of your intensions you can choose any of those distributions and have no problem doing anything you'd mentioned.
      I've gamed on Arch, gamed on Fedora, Debian and NixOS; it's just critical to ensure you have your chipsets ucode and the appropriate GPU drivers. If you're using NVIDIA just do yourself a favor and use the proprietary drivers, it'll save you some headache regardless of distribution.
      Ensure you're loading your nvidia kernel modules properly if using Nvidia GPU and you'll be riding the gravy train like I do with Nvidia hardware.
      I am one of seemingly very, very few individuals on the face of the planet that will down right tell you that your distro really doesn't matter. They almost all stem from Arch/Fedora/Debian and can all accomplish the exact same tasks.
      It would seem that 95% of the linux community USES linux but they don't really understand it. That's why you get a bunch of nincompoops arguing about which distro is better; completely overlooking the fundamental truth that anything that isn't a parent distro is just a derivative; so it's only superiority is the semantics behind personal preference in what makes a PC useful by the amount of percieved "useful" packages said distro comes with. aka...... bloat.
      As far as i'm concerned, it's just as easy to build a purpose built system using any of the parent distros, or a stand alone cool kid like NixOS.
      There's only one distribution I wish would fade out; and that's ubuntu, but that's a topic for a video at a later time lol
