This was when Mike and Bruce made steady Good Morning America visits in the summer. My family and I saw them a year later on GMA, when Mike introduced his son Brian, from wife number "(insert number)". (I lost count). Brian was going strong, following the debut of Live at the Roxy, and Al warmed up well leading as "The Beach Boys Family and Friends."
They deserve great credit for the amount of shows they do at that age. Also it's not an argument that they are not original as if you take that view in theory the Beach Boys only lasted a few weeks originally before they made changes. ie David Marks out and Al Jardine in. So they have never had an original line up in that case.
