the song by Sean Angus Watson is so perfect. I find myself coming back nearly every day to listen to it. it's crazy to think that if Paul hadn't come up with this idea the song wouldn't even exist.
Paul if you see this I just wanna say you are an amazing guy. And you've made the guitar communities 2020 so much better. And that we are soo grateful for you. You helping us get through the hard time and giving us hope.
@@austinmc4004 Late to the party but I must 3rd... My first exposure to Paul, probably Google chosen through some Mary stuff I was listening too. Down the rabbit hole I go... and thanks Paul, you seem like a bright and comfortable strong glue to hold a colab together n get a good jam going. Just what will be created? What a treat to hear 5 takes on it. I'm humbled, bests~
Even after watching the video again A year later, I am seriously impressed with Helen. This was an awesome collaboration with a group of talented artists that mesh well. Good job Paul for arranging the video.
Sean's imo is the most raw and is amazing. But Paul's is so clever and so textured. I can play guitar well, but I wish I knew more scales and was more technical. What Paul does is amazing as it isn't just the guitar, it's his video production too. I'm very jealous, I wish I more time to spend learning more, but with two kids and full time job it isn't easy
There is some great work here but Sean proves the point that you don’t need to be swamped in gear to write poetry on your guitar. With just a humble little pedal and a wholly humble heart he puts a spell on you.
Hearing Helen, I feel loved, joyful, wanna start a day with all those lovely feeling Hearing Sean, I wanted to cry hearing all those notes, remind me all of my good memories... no. it's not tear, there's something in my eyes Hearing Marry, She saved me and bring back my soul to this world, and left me hanging in the real world in the last part of the song Hearing Paul, gave love to the life brought before. It's so peaceful Hearing Hvetter, made me remembering back all the reason i've walked this way in this point of life.
Just the loops babbyyyy. I love them all, I even bought my first looper pedal to try and see what magic I can attempt to make! One day I'll be able to craft such beautiful things as these! Thank you all for the inspiration 😌
I would love to see a challenge of where again you pick the players. give them all 3 minutes or so of something similar improv over the same cords or loop. But, the challenge is with the cheapest starter guitar/amp setup more what a lot of people at home would have. Do this with the minimal amount of effects, basic pedals or simple reverb. The point is to show that maybe you don't or maybe you do need to buy higher-end gear for someone at home. Really would love to see this challenge.
All of these players made delightful "landscapes of sound." It is wonderful so see just HOW MUCH of a song can be made by just one talented person... Somehow they sound even better with your eyes closed, like you can dream of one amazing person playing multiple parts simultaneously. But actually watching them arrange and construct the song loops shows the importance of inserting useful empty pauses, and that dream faces reality... I was impressed with how Helen Ibe hit notes in sync with the vocal track, then cut the vocal loop and jumped on a strong solo.
This is amazing! I was just telling a friend that I would love to just have these playing in the background while I chill or work and then saw that you actually posted them like this!
I noticed that you don't put your part first or last in the video , wich doesn't give off a competitive vibe , the listener doesn't feel like he is comparing your performance with the others , we just enjoy listening to each one of the artists in your video and i respect that about you , it shows how humble you are. Love the improvisations by the way ❤
As soon as I saw Paul pull out a bass and lay down that tasty groove, he got my top vote. What a rich build of loops! Other top votes include Helen (for happiness personified), Sean (for that thoughtful moody place), Mary (for sweet vocals as always) and Hvetter (for acoustic dreaminess). The range of mood and style in this video is a treat, beyond the quality of the artists represented. Kudos to all!
Absolutely loved this collaboration Paul! Thanks for the inspiration for us little guitarist out here, and keep the amazing music coming... Well done by all who contributed!
This jam will always bring me back to when i was driving on hollywood blvd and i first found this on youtube that night and played it about 5 times driving up and down ;] wil be a memorable jam when i hear this in the future, please dont delete this video. The first girl definatly looks like shes enjoying her self, wish i could be that happy when i play, and you van see shes feeling it. Loke the guy with the beards too, but all of it ls good
Paul, I do not underrate skills of your guests, each performance was really awesome, but you are true master of looping. I'm at the beginning of my looping journey and I'm glad I can take out so much from you. Thanks for your great job!
Thanks Paul, what a great idea to challenge all these unbelievably talented people. Loving their different approaches. Listening to this early in the morning the day before Christmas. Still dark outside, but a new day is just starting. One could say the same for 2020, with 2021 coming up. The music makes me feel the same, sad and optimistic at the same time. Keep up your excellent work! Veel groeten en de allerbeste wensen uit Den Haag.
I now have a folder in my music library called "Chilloopers" gonna make the artist also be Chilloopers. Cant wait to see this folder expand. THANKS Paul!
Yeah, But the thing it's that since Paul was the one that came out with this! For sure he have more time to practice and think more about to be more prepared than the others! Don't You think so! And i though that it was a contest between them! So for me the winner was Helen, second place Mary , third place Sean and fourth Hvetter! Paul did good but i'm not counting him because of the advantage over the others. Anyways i Will love to be on it cause i was just playing around before watching the others started to do their thing and i was rocking out and then i started to feel sleepy and boring of such a soft melody! It's not My style to listen sleepy music! I like to rock out hardcore and i did with that chord progression. But everybody has their own style
Hi friends if my ear is not bad the chord progresión is C#- / B/ F#-9/ G#-/ A / F#-/ C#-/E/ G#- / A/B, if I’m nod wrong is C# eolian progresión and in the loop of Davids is working whit 3tird note of the chord in function of major or minor, exaimple C# and E (3third minor) B and D# like (3third major) have two changes in the first F# change the third for 9 and in the E put his 8 before to go to G#- kind regards from Barcelona
Helen is good. Being a female guitarist, she has proven to the boys that a woman ( an african woman to be specific) too can jam. I am also an african and i must confess, female instrumentalists are hard to find. Girls are afraid of learning an instrument. I pray she encourages more females to take that Bold step.
Marry’s rendition of her song is so good. I feel like all her songs have their roots in live playing like this. To the point where I almost prefer the live version over the studio version.
watched this countless times now but I've only just noticed that - if you watch Sean's left hand closely when he makes that lovely shift in second section of the intro - it looks a little like his fingers are doing a Vienna waltz all the way up to A major. Just an observation ;)
0:00 Helen

The Loop by Sean Angus Watson is so tasteful melancholy with a bit of a goodbye feeling, that loop let's me feel things
It sounds very similar to a Billie Eilish song, I forgot the name, I think it's "When The Party's Over"
Sean is so good, check out his looping albums if you get the chance
I am sure I see John Martyn influences there?

Sean Angus Watson is definitely in a league of its own.

The joy in Helens face when she's playing is infectious. Love it.
I agree 100%!! I would love to get to that level of creating something that beautiful and awesome, and then I'd probably have that look on my face too
Been following Helen for two years.
Definitely agree she's amazing
Jake Paul is good. But he thinks he is the best which bugs me.
3 years and it keeps being my favorite video by Paul

I really like Seans loop, its so moving. Incredible!
as soon as I saw Sean I knew he’d blow me away with that loop! guy is unreal!
Every time i come across something new from Sean it's like finding a gold nugget in the wild. What a joy to listen to him play.
Sean's loop was like letting go.
Sean’s piece is a master piece most beautiful and emotional thing i ever heard. Had to come back to it again haha
Let’s be honest.. we came here to listen to Sean❤️
100 procent agree!
True.
Yesssss
DIdn't really know who he was, TBH. I came to hear Paul and Mary, and came away loving the rest. So... mission accomplished (by Paul)?
I heard the loops before but I keep coming back to hear Sean. So haunting and beautiful...
The look of wonder, fun and joy on Sean's face is something else... bravo, Sir!

higher-end gear yields more options to explore creativity. Limiting their gear is diminishing what they worked so hard to afford imo
I loved them all with no bias just pure love for guitar playing and appreciation for great musical talent!
