Is it realizing the incredible, cool, fascinating feats humans are capable of? Is it ALL of it? Yes, yes it is.
They show us a machine performing a mission, they humanize it, that's why they say it's "fighting back the atmosphere to keep its antennas pointed at earth". You get emotional cause you see "SOMEONE" sacrificing till the last second for us. If you think about that, that's what makes you cry. That's an archetype story right there, in fact it bears similarity to jesus's story.
Human beings are so fragile and small, we are greedy, jealous, and selfish, but at the same time we are so empathetic, and full of kindness. So that we have a sense of mission for the lonely journey of an inorganic little robot. it's just a strong hypothesis that is widely believed. But there is no solid proof that Saturn doesn't have a solid core. The core region of Saturn has never been directly observed. But based on the available theories and facts , it's believed to be composed of gasses only.
