When my son was young, he and I used to do cab rides on CSX with some friends of mine. We got to build consists, unit lashups, cold starts, the whole 9 yards. Loved those times.
one of the best cab ride videos I have seen in a long while. This was very nice of the AC&W and the engineer. Also thank you for investing the time to upload these three videos.
FNGFASHA Productions Right now, I'm watching part two. I've fanned that yard many times, and I've never seen it like that. Also, that must be an amazing sight to see North Davidson and 36th from that angle.
As a former railroader I rode many a cab and there's nothing quite like the experience.. A good cup of coffee from your Thermos completes the experience.

elektrosoundwave Thanks for viewing and yes it was awesome!!!! I was like a kid!!!!
So, before Norfolk Southern, would this have been Norfolk & Western or would it have been Southern?
Everything outside the the Norfolk Southern Yard, outside of Broom's Lead, is old N&W trackage.
Thanks for the great ride, love it,
I liked the video. Can't wait for part 2.
Ty SIR!! Should be up in a few day :-)
Sure is rare nowadays to get a cabride. Only cabride I've got was a GE 25tonner but I was at the controls.

I did enjoy my time there. Something about seeing areas that you would not normally get to see.
My son and I both would love to do a cab ride sometime!!
Awesome video!!!
Ty Buddy!
You mention surprise at the number of out in the middle of nowhere crossings - those are there for farmers and ranchers to run their tractors.
Very true Sir! I was just surprised at the number of them. Would have never guess...
Not so much "sir" as "Mrs.," but yeah, it's surprising how many fields connect to each other - and not just where you are but everywhere!
klingoncelt Sorry about that Ma'am :-)
:D It's all good.
At 34:34 to the right was the Wilgrove airport which recently was sold and made into tract housing, sadly.
Miss you Guys....Are you still making video s?
We are. But it's been a while since I have been track side. Diesel got a job with a RR so he sees them daily now. How you been?
