My experience with this gun is so polarizing. It’s either a hitmarker machine or I absolutely melt people with no inbetween. That said akimbo is tons of fun to play around with, especially on meat. I wish there were more SMG friendly maps in this game as I feel like with the AR’s being so powerful and versatile it’s hard to play into this guns niche on some maps without camping a building or something.
Yeah these maps were not made for SMGs at all. They all need a range buff asap. The only one that can kinda hold its own at range is the AMR9. The only maps you can get away with SMgs on is Rust, Meat, Shipment and Greece. And Greece is the only real 6v6 map out of those
"These maps are not SMG friendly". Well these maps worked fine with SMGs on the original MW2. Just use them on the right maps or don't go into areas where the SMG isn't going to be viable against a rifle
Ace, this weapon is amazing with Melee. You can make a max mobility build and use lightweight to zoom around the map. It's even faster than the Karambit.
not only did they change the name of the muzzle attachment from "Rival-9 Compensator" to "JAK BFB".. I met the requirment to unlock it and it's bugged.. so RIP
Jak BFB's something completely different. They now call it the Trebuchet Brake, and it's STILL locked. It's the default muzzle on the rival-9 conversion kit.
One thing I'm surprised Ace didn't mention is the 100-round mag you can whack on this thing, because it turns this gun into an unstoppable wrecking ball at close range whilst also allowing you to create one of the most effective anti-air and anti-vehicle weapons in the game. I know this sounds stupid, but I think they busted something with the armour-piercing rounds for 9mm because the FTAC Siege has the same magical tank-busting, chopper slaying power. Forget using optics because they throw off your aim with the higher fire rates and just focus on gun kick and recoil control, since chopper-gunners and harriers don't care about how fast your ADS is or how optimal your hip fire is (That's for shooting down UAVs) and you can turn this thing into a VERY controllable bullet hose. You can reliably shootdown harriers in a few seconds and choppergunners too if they person flying it doesn't bother to move or try to evade your fire. All this for the price of having above average stats for an assault rifle. Oh, and the switch-out time for the akimbo versions is the same as that for a pistol, even with 100-round mags included, which makes them absolutely hilarious when paired with a riot shield because you go from being the least dangerous too the most dangerous person in a close-range gunfight in the blink of an eye.
This gun is actually solid af as a secondary. When you run out of bullets in the middle of a fight you can switch to this one and it usually finishes the job nicely.
On your accuracy setup, you use the "Rival-9 Compensator". But how do you unlock that attachment? The game says you get it from leveling up the WSP Swarm to level 6 but it's obviously not true as I have it maxed out.
These are the kind of weapons that are appealing to use, because of their unique character. It's fast, you can use it in many different ways (standard, tac stance or troll akimbo) and it is great either option. Much more enjoyable than the boring meta full auto assault rifles. Ace you need to include more tac stance builds, some of these weapons just destroy in tac stance! (Hopefully for the pistol guides because they're all viable)

Very proud of myself because I made my own little akimbo build for this gun also and it is very similar to yours. Tested it for about 15 minutes trying to get it right and damn, was alot of fun to run around with. Had flashbacks of the OG akimbo SMGs on MW2 😂😂
Unfortunately there is a defect. The Rival 9 compensator still shows lock. It says it unlocks when WSP Swarm is level 6, and I’m at max level. The description for that attachment shows “placeholder” so I think there is a defect on it. Bummer
I'll definitely need to come back and rewatch these at some point. Been mostly playing Zombies to level up my weapons and get through the battle pass. It makes it so much easier imo and it's pretty fun
@@blackomega34I know, but they make the guns better and some of them are terrible to try and level up without them. So I’m getting them all to max in zombies then switching over. Plus this version of Zombies is fun so it’s a win-win for me
@@blackomega34 Yeah, I’ve had a bad time with the Sub Machine Guns, Snipers (I hate the base scopes) and marksman rifles without attachments. This way I can get the attachments I need without constantly dying trying to level them up. Plus I get through the battle pass much quicker than in multiplayer. Already 60% of the way through it

Yep, that additional section took a ton of extra time to put together in the past and I since we now have advanced stats, the value that a section like that would add to the video isn't worth the amount of time & effort that it adds to the creation process.

Was low key just watching to see his attachment set up, to see how it compares to my own, and lemme tell ya I have mine like a laser beam, with better range and all with our destroying the handling. I can get people on head glitches with this thing and I'm using a stick drift ridden controller 😂
This is a 100% akimbo gun. It's not very difficult to kit for extreme hipfire, which can be made to be nearly a dot. I was able to doink people at longshot range and beyond without any difficulty at all. Suppressors and a stealthy build makes this sooooooooo much fun.
I had quite a good experience with this weapon personally. It's so far my favorite SMG whereas the WSP 9 was pretty terrible which I followed up with after I completed the camos for the Swarm. The build I used only had the Marauder Grip in common with your non-akimbo builds. Mine was WSP Infiltrator Integrated Suppressor Barrel, Kimura Ryn-03 Vertical Grip, 100 round drum mag, WSP Factory Stock, and of course the Marauder Grip. Basically, mine came out of building it up as things came available and just going to the firing range a few times until it felt right. You'd know better than me but some of these attachments should not be good but "feel" good for my playstyle. This video was literally my first time after I put on the 100 round drum mag. I've got another video of the next match I haven't uploaded yet (though will probably be up tonight) where I did even better. I do have the build at the beginning of this video I was using. Personally, i use the akimbo swarms in hardcore and its not even fair, in core i set it up for max mobility and a breacher device for 1 tap melees 😂😂 its great man
I have all the guns leveled up but that rival-9 compensator show locked for me. I'm guessing this is a but since you are able to use it on your gun then.
My Rival-9 compensator is locked even though I have the WSP Swarm max level and you only need it at level 6 to unlock it wtf. I can't even use the armory unlock system to get it since it has the requirement already checked off.
i really wish they just lowered the damage instead of the firerate in akimbo, having 2 bullethoses shooting at 1091 rpm for a combined 2000+ rpm would be amazing.
YO BROTHER i have the Rival 9 compensator "LOCKED" it says i get it at level 6 the swarm but I have it on Interstellar, and I have 10 days time played with interstellar skins. I am on Steam I have Ram7 2 barrels lock and new Sniper 1 barrel LOCKED and I cant get new launcher to Interstellar. What is going on?@@TheXclusiveAce
Is there a workable damage range build? I think if you could increase the first damage range out even like 20% you could probably handle whatever negatives are associated with it by playing specifically for that increased first damage range.
Not worth it if your primary concern is the max damage range. A 20% increase to 4.6m is only 5.5m. That extra .9m will be hardly noticeable even if you’re trying your best to stay up close.
For the Akimbo setup people miss a huge factor. When you single fire one gun in Akimbo with a proper hip fire spread, the gun literally doesn't move and you play a game already in "ADS in a way. To get full value, you want to fire 1 gun then the 2nd gun a few bullets in. Mix in the 100 mag and you never have to reload (realistically). This Akimbo setup will get nerfed once the meta and bs guns get pegged. A high skill player with insane centering that can also pre fire and master the 2nd gun trigger timing will just dominate. Think of the 2nd gun as "fire rate". Master that timing and you've got a disgusting AND reliable gun. I haven't got the numbers for increased TTK per bullet missed but it can't be high. The perk of fast fire rate guns is simply mistake allowance. You can miss more and still stay somewhat close to it's average TTK. Now providing the TTK is already good with reliable accuracy, then you are giving fire rate a value based on ease of use. Now it may be difficult to master that 2nd fire timing but who cares. They are fun af in Akimbo and look cool.
Okay.. here's the stupid question of the day. (I'm 68 so I'm allowed one lol) do kills while using a weapon in the Akimbo set up count as hip fire kills? So this would be a good choice when trying to complete a hip fire challenge? TIA

I quite like this gun, even though SMGs are kind of chalked on many of the maps. At least this one can really fry people up close, and the handling stats come through in how it feels to use.
Not worth it when you consider the mobility reduction as well as the fact that you have a much slower fire rate so you don't burn through mags fast at all.
Unrelated but could you Ace perhaps hit up the devs about the blueprints receiver issue? Basically, your blueprints will randomly have the receiver show up the default look of a gun and to fix it you have to edit your class mid-match and reselect the saved blueprint. I'm sorry for randomly putting this comment on this video but this annoyance is driving me unreasonably mad and despite reporting it's not even on the trello board, nor has it been acknowledged and it's there since launch. It affects the Vault blueprints too :/
The best "SMG" in the game is the Renetti. But NOT with the "conversion" kit (conversion kit just hampers it with bad recoil) Just the gun itself with the best range barrel and high grain and then stability attachments. You can melt people at 20 meters and even further away. The recoil can be made minimal. You can spam it so fast. Seriously with high grain ammo and the longest damage range/velocity barrel your max damage range can be over 20 meters and velocity and recoil is so nice. I found it funny I was using an AR and ran out of bullets and then I went on a 6 kill streak with the Renetti with enemies just kept coming from all directions. Felt like a Boss. You can add a huge mag a Stock for recoil/stability.
I think this weapon could be viable for competitive if the pros realize they need to set it up more for recoil control rather than outright speed. The TTK is super fast when you’re hitting your shots
The reason it's not used is because of that very reason. They need to stack for recoil and not speed, and you might as well use the Rival at that point. The Rival can do it all, the swarm can't. Pros know what they're doing.
@@betterbiohazard every year there’s a gun that gets introduced in to the meta that’s been in the game since launch that the pros overlooked. It happens almost every year. They usually GA it quickly. I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if the Swarm is that gun this year.
@@akaDOOD The only off meta guns that were successfully used these recent years were the Rampart and the Volk. People pulled out the MP7 several times last year and it just didn't make an impact. Things can change after balance updates though.

For the record Ace, in response to your claim you could "do very well with it" 10:16 after watching your vids for years, it's my opinion you could do very well with a friggin pea shooter .
Hey Ace, an interesting stat to add in your builds at the end would be the bullet velocity. There are many long distance duels in this game because of the maps that bullet velocity is quite important. Especially for the smgs.
I always try to include it if it ever changes noticeably from the base velocity. If it doesn't change or if the change is too minor to really notice in game then I don't include it.
I don't understand why my Rival-9 compensator is locked. I have every gun maxed, I have all of the armory unlocks completed, including the ones that you have to dig into the weapon itself for, and Interstellar camos. It says I need to get the Rival-9 to level 6, and it clearly is but is still locked. When I go to the Rival-9, I don't even see that compensator as an attachment. Funny thing is, I made an "accuracy" build fo the WSP Swarm as well, and it was basically the same except I used a long barrel (which prevents use of compensators anyways), and drops the Mk .3 Reflector optic because I'm good with iron sights for basically every gun.
People are spamming this gun in warzone, maybe make a warzone build update for this gun? (how the 3 plates effect TTK and stuff) and possibly add the other SMG TTK so you dont need to remake all smg videos? I dont personally care about warzone too much but I trust your TTK math so would be cool to see the best killing gun in warzone (idk if you are against warzone content)
I initially built that setup with the integrated suppressed barrel but found the minor accuracy benefits to not be worth the range and velocity reduction. I wouldn't say it's terrible to use this over the shadowstrike but for me, the shadowstrike was optimal.

If you are really strugling with recoil use fss fortress heavy stock. It doesnt hurt your ads or movement that much but helps a lot with recoil

Even with 8 shots to kill, the ttk at that range is better than the other SMGs at that range. If you can hit em, that is.

Fire rate kills the kimbo imo. Needs a buff somewhere.

YO BROTHER i have the Rival 9 compensator "LOCKED" it says i get it at level 6 the swarm but I have it on Interstellar, and I have 10 days time played with interstellar skins. I am on Steam I have Ram7 2 barrels lock and new Sniper 1 barrel LOCKED and I cant get new launcher to Interstellar. What is going on?@@TheXclusiveAce
Is there a workable damage range build? I think if you could increase the first damage range out even like 20% you could probably handle whatever negatives are associated with it by playing specifically for that increased first damage range.
Not worth it if your primary concern is the max damage range. A 20% increase to 4.6m is only 5.5m. That extra .9m will be hardly noticeable even if you’re trying your best to stay up close.
Ive enjoyed this gun it great when up close. Takes a bit to get used to

Rival-9 Compensator is locked even though gun is at level 27?
For the Akimbo setup people miss a huge factor.
When you single fire one gun in Akimbo with a proper hip fire spread, the gun literally doesn't move and you play a game already in "ADS in a way. To get full value, you want to fire 1 gun then the 2nd gun a few bullets in. Mix in the 100 mag and you never have to reload (realistically).
This Akimbo setup will get nerfed once the meta and bs guns get pegged. A high skill player with insane centering that can also pre fire and master the 2nd gun trigger timing will just dominate.
Think of the 2nd gun as "fire rate". Master that timing and you've got a disgusting AND reliable gun. I haven't got the numbers for increased TTK per bullet missed but it can't be high. The perk of fast fire rate guns is simply mistake allowance. You can miss more and still stay somewhat close to it's average TTK. Now providing the TTK is already good with reliable accuracy, then you are giving fire rate a value based on ease of use.
Now it may be difficult to master that 2nd fire timing but who cares. They are fun af in Akimbo and look cool.

Okay.. here's the stupid question of the day. (I'm 68 so I'm allowed one lol) do kills while using a weapon in the Akimbo set up count as hip fire kills? So this would be a good choice when trying to complete a hip fire challenge? TIA

I quite like this gun, even though SMGs are kind of chalked on many of the maps. At least this one can really fry people up close, and the handling stats come through in how it feels to use.

You should run the akimbo with the 100r mag.
Not worth it when you consider the mobility reduction as well as the fact that you have a much slower fire rate so you don't burn through mags fast at all.

Unrelated but could you Ace perhaps hit up the devs about the blueprints receiver issue? Basically, your blueprints will randomly have the receiver show up the default look of a gun and to fix it you have to edit your class mid-match and reselect the saved blueprint. I'm sorry for randomly putting this comment on this video but this annoyance is driving me unreasonably mad and despite reporting it's not even on the trello board, nor has it been acknowledged and it's there since launch. It affects the Vault blueprints too :/

You can get it to 0.0 hipfire minimum spread with akimbo lmao but its pretty bad at range and dpm
The best "SMG" in the game is the Renetti. But NOT with the "conversion" kit (conversion kit just hampers it with bad recoil) Just the gun itself with the best range barrel and high grain and then stability attachments. You can melt people at 20 meters and even further away. The recoil can be made minimal. You can spam it so fast.
Seriously with high grain ammo and the longest damage range/velocity barrel your max damage range can be over 20 meters and velocity and recoil is so nice.
I found it funny I was using an AR and ran out of bullets and then I went on a 6 kill streak with the Renetti with enemies just kept coming from all directions. Felt like a Boss. You can add a huge mag a Stock for recoil/stability.
My Rival 9 compensator is locked even tho I have my WSP Swarm maxed out.
I think this weapon could be viable for competitive if the pros realize they need to set it up more for recoil control rather than outright speed. The TTK is super fast when you’re hitting your shots
The reason it's not used is because of that very reason. They need to stack for recoil and not speed, and you might as well use the Rival at that point. The Rival can do it all, the swarm can't. Pros know what they're doing.
@@betterbiohazard every year there’s a gun that gets introduced in to the meta that’s been in the game since launch that the pros overlooked. It happens almost every year. They usually GA it quickly. I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if the Swarm is that gun this year.
@@akaDOOD The only off meta guns that were successfully used these recent years were the Rampart and the Volk. People pulled out the MP7 several times last year and it just didn't make an impact. Things can change after balance updates though.

Hey Ace, an interesting stat to add in your builds at the end would be the bullet velocity.
There are many long distance duels in this game because of the maps that bullet velocity is quite important. Especially for the smgs.
I always try to include it if it ever changes noticeably from the base velocity. If it doesn't change or if the change is too minor to really notice in game then I don't include it.
I don't understand why my Rival-9 compensator is locked. I have every gun maxed, I have all of the armory unlocks completed, including the ones that you have to dig into the weapon itself for, and Interstellar camos. It says I need to get the Rival-9 to level 6, and it clearly is but is still locked. When I go to the Rival-9, I don't even see that compensator as an attachment. Funny thing is, I made an "accuracy" build fo the WSP Swarm as well, and it was basically the same except I used a long barrel (which prevents use of compensators anyways), and drops the Mk .3 Reflector optic because I'm good with iron sights for basically every gun.

People are spamming this gun in warzone, maybe make a warzone build update for this gun? (how the 3 plates effect TTK and stuff) and possibly add the other SMG TTK so you dont need to remake all smg videos? I dont personally care about warzone too much but I trust your TTK math so would be cool to see the best killing gun in warzone (idk if you are against warzone content)

I initially built that setup with the integrated suppressed barrel but found the minor accuracy benefits to not be worth the range and velocity reduction. I wouldn't say it's terrible to use this over the shadowstrike but for me, the shadowstrike was optimal.
