- The last time I've uploaded a good old classic doobyvlog was probably over half a year ago. It's weird because I kinda quit cold turkey sometime last year because... well I just couldn't do it. It felt like my whole body shut down into save battery mode to protect myself, and every time I tried to turn on the camera to talk a bit more about my life, I found myself freezing.
In a much better headspace, happy and surrounded by good friends and family. I'm super excited about vlogging this year and letting you all back into my life once again.

an old style classic dooby vlog was so much needed. This video was such an emotional rollercoaster, incredibly introspective on many topics, almost nostalgic in a way and oh god I died with the rue/roux caption like God really made you the queen of captions😭 I just can’t stop thinking about how much of an inspiration you are to me. 2023 was a year where all the work had to be done no matter what, resulting in stress and shitty situations, and tbh I also felt a bit like that. It was all preparatory, to set the base for what 2024 and the next years will be. You worked so hard and you deserve to rest, relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Oh and I might need a more in-depth video on some recipes you guys cooked on Christmas because woah I literally wanted to jump through the screen and catch that juicy duck lmao. Hope that aprons will be available soon because I can’t wait to buy one for myself and my little cooking hobby. Great video Tina ( as always hehe ) and keep it up, you have so much people that support you no matter what, me included

Love does not come from what we look at, it comes from what is inside. You fell for someone who wasn’t Korean. You didn’t fall for him because he’s not Korean, you fell for who he is. The cover does tell the whole story. You had the opportunity to understand him from the beginning to end. Who he showed himself to be was who you fell for. When we die we don’t take our bodies with us. Our souls are the only thing to pass on. So while the world looks at you for not falling for a Korean man. You can look at it as, you fell for the right man. The same man I will see again when we pass on. The same “soul” I will reunite with. I admire your love!

I can relate to this along with my family. My family is white american and my 4 brothers all fell in love with asian culture and are now married/dating an asian woman. I was the last one to follow the memo so I also decided to date an asian woman. Interracial couples between white man and asian female as been the most popular couples in the world and steady increasing each year. I think we just find each other the most compatible and are the definition of love. It truly is a miracle that we are in a time to be able to mix with people we couldn't thousands of years ago.

As someone who has been recently estranged from his father (a lot of disrespect regarding boundaries and how to communicate) I’m glad you are able to work things out with your family, it gives me the tiniest bit of hope things will pan out but only time will tell.

I remember reading comments in past vlogs and thinking to myself 'wtf, how people can be so hateful and care so much about the relationship of someone that they haven't a connection with', but from my perspective as an latin american woman I reeaally understand the societal pressure to conform to certain values and aspirations. I am so happy for you and Kevin, and something that helped me a lot with letting go my worries about what other people think about me and my partners is a saying that goes something like: you aren't a coin made out of gold to suit everyone ok, and that's fine.
Kevin seems so proper and Dooby has the humor of a 12 year old boy, I love it 😅 flashing the camera and immediately looking around to make sure his family didn't see 💀

@@rdu239scandinavians are pretty used to this kind of relations😀😀 i dont th8nk anyone mind but of course his parents would wish he was living closer to them wich has nothing to do with who he dates its more a worry thing could go sideways and more they cant meet with him for long periods

I found your channel recently and have greatly enjoyed watching your vlogs and you giving us a look into your restaurant and what it takes to have a business while also having a large TH-cam channel. That's A LOT of work and that doesn't even take personal stuff into account. When you said you don't know why youre crying, I hope its partly joy/relief for feeling like youre on the other side of tough times but I also hope you're letting yourself still feel the tough stuff. I know I struggle a lot with letting myself sit with negative things and feel them through so if you still need to cry about it I hope you can and do

Love isn’t cultivated through flowers and gift giving, anyone can do that. Good strong love is cultivated through struggle and this is even scientifically backed, you are more likely to build a healthy and long lasting relationship through getting over tough hurdles and knowing you have a partner you can trust to get through difficult times. You and Kevin have that, you two are bonded and that’s tough to find when people nowadays run when the going gets tough.

glad u took a break to understand urself and accept things as they are. change and indifference really is tough. you've been through tough things yet you still stand and i think that is the most important thing to acknowledge. its always important to prioritize your mental health as well. thank u for being so brave to still be able to share such intimate things with us, even if its mostly for yourself to look back on as well, but truly you have done so god damn well in the hard times. cheers to it all for making us who we are.

I am relatively new to the Dooby train (only since last year.) I enjoy her sense of humor and the quality of her videos.
I don't understand why the hate from some detractors. Some people just wake up every morning and choose misery. It speaks more about them than you.
Just remember that all the push-backs you got are just gonna form the foundation of your future. You will be tougher, wiser, and more resilient going forward.

I was looking for recipes for banchan and there you were, making it so accessible and fun and funny and naughty. So not boring! Then, I followed you because you helped me make 3 dishes right out of the gate and you had the ingredients right there in the comments! There are those who judge, shockingly, with no personal knowledge of your situation. I hope you can ignore them, it's hard sometimes. Hurtful things can hurt, though. Sending positive mojo and best yummy thoughts your way! I am sorry for your stresses and am glad you took time out when it was a lot to process.
