    I find what makes strive easier to get into is just how the combos work in general. Compared to older guilty gear games where characters start off combos with a good hit into decently long loops that can connect into other loops along with needing to think about air teching, Strive has a more understandable "if you can connect your next move before they hit the ground, you get to continue your combo." Other than that, shorter combo durations make the whole thing less intimidating.

      I would also like to add that the changes to gatling system doesn't really help with making combos easier, more so making matchups feel less knowledge check-y where you need to memorize your opponents gatling chart as well along with yours.
      Common example is Sol's and Faust's 6P in xrd
      Sol's 6P gatlings basically into everything, making it a terrifying move to get hit by
      Faust's 6P can only be special cancelled, making his options more limited, therefore making it less scary to block
      Not knowing some of the different gatling trees in older games can make you miss out on certain opportunities to punish, or just make your opponent way harder to predict.
