Absolutely outstanding and exquisite, miss Tsybuleva 😮. You’re bringing Debussy’s genius come to life in the most extraordinary way … This piece has so many sudden mood, tempo and timbre changes, and you’re masterfully taming them with flair, delicateness and playfulness, but always perfectly in control. You’re a true master painter with the piano, painting musical soundscapes exactly as Debussy might have intended them. It’s like this music was written specially for you. What an extraordinary and beautiful rendition. I take a deep bow to you! All the best in your career! Warm regards from Brussels.
Being one of my all time favorites of piano writing genius, I have listened to at least two dozen different recordings or performances of this extraordinary work. From Richter, Gieseking, Horowitz or Rubenstien to the amazing versions by Hamelin, De Larrocha and Seong-Jin Cho, I have never heard anything like this performance by the young Anna Tsybuleva!! It's as if none of the others ever heard of Ireland, or never travelled there. Perhaps it took a truly sensitive woman to get it! Her technical playing may not be the absolute best, it is a very difficult piece, but in Anna Tsybuleva's face you literally can see her imagining the many moods and aspects and historical adventures of the "happy island," with the Fomorians, the Fir Bolg, the Tuatha deDanaan and Milesians. She smiles at the occasional leprechaun dashing behind a tree, or across a field into a wall tunnel; gets overwhelmed by the beauty of Epona's environs with prancing horses and dashing young men and fair maidens riding them. She emotes gently upon the very sacraments of Celtic life whether druidic or Catholic, giving respect to those whose lives created the land... even unto the march of tragic times through the heart of the terrain, An Gorta Mor. Yet, despite it all, the extraordinary Celtic Soul abounds in the final lush anthem for Love of God (Nature), the Land (Home and Country), the Culture and institutional wealth of the Irish Spirit (People), all of it translated accurately and lovingly onto the Steinway keys right down to final triumphant flourish! L'isle joyeuse, n'a joué que de la façon dont Debussy l'avait imaginé!
Beautiful comment. Anyway, she's incredible, and beyond that...I wonder why she's not famous yet, her schedule on her site is not full, what a shame...she's one of the best pianist of our time
Brilliant! Meraviglioso! Watching her play is like drawing me to a wild roller coaster ride with her in the front by her side! I kept catching my breath when she moves from section to section of the piece! I could sense the groaning as one section rises to a peak and then you have to prepare for another one coming up. Even if this was the only piece she ever played in her life or career, she would have been the greatest performer of it hands down, and shall remain unchallenged. I'm so glad her video appeared in my youtube recommendations. I'll never regret a single moment I watched this!!
This "L´Isle Joyeuse", is it Irland? Great playing from one of our best pianists! In this Wigmore Hall she shows a russian temperament in treating Debussy.
Grazie!
What a playing! The light touch of your fingers brings novelty and freshness to this classic repertoire.

Oh, Ann, what a precious comment! That is exactly what these enchanted musicians bring us. So thrilled to have discovered Anna... Blessings, Michael
Perfect. It reminds me interpretation of Maurizio Polliny.
Isn‘t Pollini more or less the opposite? What I like in both is the rhythm
Rachmaninov suite(s) for 2 pianos? I am signing up here and now. :) You pick your part - primo or secondo... (I don't mind, know both parts anyway.)
Великолепная женщина музыкант !!!
Crazy, man, crazy!!
Play it slightly slower so that it's clearer and make a nice sound with the C chords. But great technique. Bravo.

Nothing wrong with That!
