Amazon milk frogs, emerald tree skinks, or a giant day gecko would be really cool in that enclosure
yes! Day gecko!
A pair of emerald tree skinks or I keep my MALE rhino rat snake in one that size. Frogs would be amazing
As soon as you said that cage was free, I thought a small group of whites tree frogs!! They are so goofy and compared to other frogs relatively easy to take care of! I’d definitely think about it!
You should get a Rhino Rat Snake! They are diurnal, active, arboreal, and stay relatively small!
You can also look into a tree skink
That would be very cool!
Maybe a break from chameleons is a good idea.
My personal suggestions would be: Leachie gecko (to complete your New Caledonian geckos species), Monkey-Tailed Skink (high up on my wish list)... OR... if you have the finances for it... we recently got a carpondro at the NARBC Tinley Park expo. It's a hybrid that is 75% Green Tree Python, 12.5% Carpet Python, and 12.5% diamond python. He hangs out on his wooden perches, much like a GTP, only not in the classic perch coil pose. He's like an olive green with amazing patterning. And he's sweet. Or at least tolderant of handling.
I'd say if you did go the frog route, Amazon Milk Frogs would be my choice. You could have like 4 or 6 of em hopping around in there. They're a species that if i were to get into frogs and do all the himidity and water maintenance, I'd definitely go with them.
OR.... maybe just keep the space open for now. 🤷♀️ Who says you need to fill it just because the space is there? You can always come back to it if an opportunity arises to get something that happens to fit into that space parameter.
So many wonderful thoughts! I appreciate all the ideas! For now, I am definitely just keeping options open and not looking to fill the space right away.
Have you considered a Rhino Rat Snake? They are docile and chill yet active, and they are fairly arboreal so they would fair well with the vertical space. They like to swim too.. so you could put a filtered pond in and add staggered shelves to make vertical platforms.
Or.. Abronia Graminea if you're wanting another Lizard!
A rhino rat snake may have to be considered. I don't see them too often though. That would be very cool! I do like abronia as well, just not sure if it is something I want to keep.
I think you should do what your heart truly desires and get another chameleon! Every chameleon tragedy has been a learning experience and your husbandry is only improving, I also think they are such beautiful creatures and would love to give one a try some day
Or mexican alligator lizard! Beautiful arboreal lizards
Green Keel Bellied Lizard would be a cool addition. Really pretty, active, and smart lizard.
Mountain horned dragon would also be awesome
Love these ideas!!!!
Newts, newts, newts! There are so many different colors and super personable and actively swimming and always hungry. I think its easier with newts to water change compared to frogs or sals but truly any amphibian would be wonderful
Cuban false chameleon!! ❤
Or a Herman’s torise
Those are soooo cool. You can keep multiple in the same setup too, so that's another big plus
Yess
Emerald tree skinks, cuban false chameleon, whites tree frogs, or any type of tree frog honestly, chinese water dragon (unrealistic), pygmy chameleons, abronia alligator lizards, green tree monitor (probably another unrealistic one), or a group of anoles there's lots a species that are so pretty.
Sounds like it’s still been a tough ride without Flounder. If you’re not sure what you want next, maybe you could switch the space up a bit and move everyone around to make that space seem less empty?
Just a game of reptile Tetris in the reptile room lol
You’d be surprised the are tortoises that would flourish in that enclosure. Egyptian tortoises and Spider tortoises stay relatively small. Push 4-5 inches when adults.
Maybe another Leachie ❤ I love my girl
I really like the frog idea. You can also keep them with green anoles.
Well depending on the type of frog then u can have it with Anoles.
Casper super cute !!!
you should get dart frogs
I would actually love to! They are little colorful aliens
Obviously, get whatever YOU want. An animal you will enjoy and can take care of. My suggestion is a Green Keeled Belly Lizard. I finally got one about a month ago and I love her. They’re diurnal, active and fun to watch, can be handleable and interactive.
Emerald tree skinks. Awake during the day, do great in jungle type of enclosure, can be housed in small groups (very small for a 2x2x4). The only downside is that more people need to be captive breeding them. When set up in a beautiful bioactive enclosure breeding is easy so you could add to the captive bred population. :-P
I think k you should get an Abronia Arboreal Alligator Lizard. It seems to be a good active during the day choice. I also LOVED my Cuban Knight Anole. You have had a lot of luck with “feisty breeds” being good. Mine was leash trained and i think you can get a good bond like that. ❤
I think you should take a break from chameleons even if it’s hard, I think you should get emerald tree skinks… they are very social so wouldn’t take away that aspect 🤷♀️
Not an animal for the 2x2x4 but I got a Kenyan zebra skink recently and I adore him. He’s pretty active and already starting to tame down from hand feedings. (He climbed onto my arm the other day) Underrated species you might want to consider someday
Yes ,,, Great stuff ,,,,, Get them all ,,,, there is no limit ,,, life is short ,,,, enjoy the gifts there of ' ,,,
Pink Tounge skink
Probably too late for this to be read but it just sprung to mind 😅
And some dendrobates. They are wonderful and have spectacular colors 😍
I haven't heard of this before! I will have to look into it! Thank you for the idea!
Leachie I love mine! I have 4
Emerald Tree Skinks, Pink-Tounged Skinks or Whites Tree Frogs!
Pink tongue skinks have been on my mind for the last couple years! Love them!
Id say mt. Horned dragon but i think from what i saw only live around 8 years.
I have my 4 white's tree frogs in a 100 gallon enclosure, so I think you should definetely put a group of tree frogs in there! They are so fun to keep and I think they would round out your reptile family nicely!
I do have to agree. I miss tree frogs so much!
Wow Tricia this is such an awesome video I love it.😃👍❤️
Yeah Yeah .. Sounds like fun to break that heart all over again! So many options so much beauty. I would not begin to suggest since your thoughts would be the best.
Abronia graminea has been on list of I will own one day for a while now
If you’re not using RO water I think that might have been what kept giving your chameleons kidney disease. They can be very sensitive to minerals depending where you live and reptisafe isn’t going to cut it, that’s only for chlorine.
Emerald tree skinks,green keel bellied lizards,milk frogs,red eye tree frogs,whites tree frogs,leachie
Not 100% their enclosure requirements by Abronia r pretty cool
My top would be one of the tree skinks or green keel very very fun to watch and interact with my green keels r like mini tree monitors
I believe emeralds can be keep together better as well which having communal setups r so fun to watch
My personal opinion. You should probably take a break from getting chameleons. Maybe get another arborio reptile since you have that tank vacancy. Like another green tree python or maybe even a bearded dragon since they like to climb sometimes or even try again. With a boa
Would love that, but I’d want horizontal space for both of those. 😭
@@reptiliangarden fair enough
I agree
Most of those this isn’t a suitable enclosure
Maybe Mountain horned dragons. Or Cuba false Chameleon
Greetings
Love both of those ideas! Was heavily considering a Cuban false chameleon and then forgot to mention it in the video 😂
Beautiful ....
RAIN FROGS!!!
Sorry for your loss. Red eyed crocodile skink!!!!
So you mentioned wanting another BP, wanting a carpet python, and wanting an amazon tree boa: Clearly your in the mood for another snake so hows about a spotted python, its cool and unique looking, has the same intimidating eyes as a carpet python or ATB, and they’re relatively small snakes that do like to climb so it would be perfect for that 2x2x4.
I haven't looked into them before, I will have to now!
Emerald tree skinks? :))))
Is there a video you could make about coupled snakes in one enclosure? I know it's usually around apon but I've also been told it's not impossible and it's not always bad
Chahoua gecko 🥹
Green tree monitors and long tailed grass lizards are pretty good
OMG a dream! I wish! I would want a larger setup for one though
you should keep a big anole :)
You should totally get a tarantula.
I have 6 chinese water dragon's they are the best . Mine have the biggest room in my house I have sailfin dragon's those where my dream species. I have 1 large sulcata tortois .I have had him for 13 years. he is great during the summer the winter months are ruff
I almost forgot I have a bearded dragon as well
How does it feel to live my dream? lol
@@reptiliangarden pretty good
I just lost my bearded dragon Bella it was hard to put her down cause she was sick next I wanna either get a another bearded dragon or I want ackie montiers a boy and girl
I am so sorry for your loss. Both of those options are great!
Last summer I got a pink tongue skink as my first reptile ever, and so far its been great! She was super skittish at first, but now shes really easy to handle, and very easy to maintain. May I suggested a juvenile PTS or Cuban False Chameleon?
A cuban false chameleon is a very heavy contender!
What about a day gecko?
My personal opinion would be a leaf-tail gecko, fringed leaf frog, or Giant Blue Beauty Anole! Good to know you are doing better!
Would love to have another leaf tail gecko some day!
Blue beauty anoles are incredible. I wonder if you have to keep them individually.
@@reptiliangarden Yess! That would be really cool! 🤩
@@LukeMcGuireoides I have only seen them kept individually (which is not saying much from my very limited research and knowing them). Dyan from @Reptiliatus keeps them separately. I got introduced to them from his channel.
Leachie Gecko, Chewie Gecko, Cuban False Chameleon, Chameleon Gecko, Mountain Horned Dragon, Green Keel Bellied Lizard, Anterisa Python, Hog Island Boa, Abronia, Pink Tonuge Skink, Tokay Gecko, Tree Monitor, Mossy Leaf Tailed Gecko, Santanic Leaf Tailed Gecko, Giant Leaf Tailed Gecko, Kimberly Rock Monitor, OR THE BEST CHOICE JUST WATCH CLINTS REPTILES! EMERALD TREE SKINKS!
Okay, you are hired to make my next video with all those ideas! lol
@@reptiliangarden Where Do I Sign ✍
Giant day geckos
Ha! What CTA line is that in the background?
I agree, i will NEVER get any of my fave animals as a pet because i KNOW i couldnt handle their death. lol
It is so hard!
not me sitting here staring at my crestie's grow out enclosure now that he's been upgraded to a 30g. lol its smol so figuring out if i'm putting anything in it has been a long thought process.
how do you feel about neon day geckos? they can be kept in small groups and are diurnal :)
I love day geckos so much! I am just nervous I would lose one since they are so fast!
You can get another tree python
What a fun video :) I am trying to decide whether I want to get a bearded dragon or guinea pigs
I'd get a bearded dragon. Guinea pigs need a lot of care, can't be kept in traditional cages (no animal should be, especially not guinea pigs or bunnies), and they are more flighty then bearded dragons. But if you want to save money on your power bill, guinea pigs would be the best bet as long as you do a crapton of research (and not on those vet or pet store websites)
@@reptilelover597 Thank you so much
@@kaylaflynn5433 ❤️ it all depends on your space, time, and money. Bearded dragons are more expensive upfront, plus live food and lighting and stuff. But they are great if you only want one pet. Guinea pigs need to be spayed and neutered when old enough, while they need to be kept in nice spacious pens with padded blankets, hay, water bottles, bowls, food, etc. They need to be kept in groups of at least two, preferably more. When they are young, Luke most young animals, they think everything is out to get them so they are very flighty and it takes a long time to gain their trust. Bearded dragons need a 4x2x2 tank minimum as an adult, but bigger is always better, especially seeing how active they are. They both would make awesome pets so it is so hard to choose
I vote Beardie! They have so much personality!
@@reptilelover597 Thank you both
Hi Trisha, was that Lulu with Peaches outdoors in that pic? Is it ok to make RES turtles roam in a garden? If that’s ok, I would love to have my RES roam outside.
ohh inland carpet python .
Carpet python
Russian rat snake maybe?
Have to do more research on them!
No more animals please .
You need to follow your heart and it sounds like its wanting another chameleon! ❤
