Seeing this movie in theaters made my heart lighten with joy!I love how they not only capture the spirit of Scotland but the stories & a deeper relationship between mother & daughter, even capturing the strength & bravery in all of us.

I think one of the big reasons. People had a problem with Merida When this movie first came out was because She was the first Disney Princess in a way to act like a real teenager since ariel

I remember seeing a video that it was mostly because it looked too much like another movie, Brother Bear I think?
But it’s sad, cause this movie was actually the reason I did archery for 4 years! But had to stop sadly 😅

Re: Merida's hair. Disney actually invented a new animation technique, - just to depict her hair!
The suitors: most people like the big, shy kid. He seems sweet.
Her arrow splitting a previous arrow : Greek poet Homer had Odysseus do that.(Around 700 BC)

oh wow that's incredible. I didn't know about the new animation technique! and great catch on the Greek mythology part!

Honestly I was so mad at Merida when I was a kid. I felt like her aggression was the wrong way to go about getting what she wanted. As I got older, I understood her more--but I still don't agree with her destroying the tapestry and changing her mom.

agreed I think she was just reacting on passion. It just shows how sometimes if we let our passion control us we can hurt others

I feel like that what makes Merida a more complex character

there's another TH-cam reactor; Wee Lass Reacts, who watched this and she was able to understand what the one guy was saying, and he wasn't speaking Gaelic, he was speaking English, and she translated what it was he was saying!

10:31 fun fact you actually can I know it cause I’ve seen it hi I’m Katie I’m learning how to do our tree in a lot like Merida I actually have Scottish heritage along with Italian, but we’re gonna focus on Scottish after watching Merida I instantly found love the character and how she was I felt exactly like her to understand her struggles so much so that we weren’t learn archer ever since I was little still to this day I am learning and enjoying it quite so well I’ve seen this my stepdad and I sometimes go over to the ring and shoot with each other sometimes and he got it straight down the middle. It is his pride and joy it’s extremely difficult and you have to have extreme course and focus which is why it’s so important to have it and keep it it’s frustrating. Yeah you lost an arrow but it’s so cool when you do it and stuff and I hope someday I can get so accurate that I’m able to do that it feels like you’re only able to do it once though cause after that, you never have that much accuracy ever again, or at least that’s how it feels. I’m sure enough you can do it consistently.

sadly we watched that on our own, we were scared of copyright issues. We saw that someone got a strike on their channel over, and we didnt wanna chance a strike.
