I'd like to see the big brother, at2035. Should have the good stuff from the 2020, but it has a much larger capsule and bigger, supposedly more robust body, which should help with that resonant frequency. Spec sheet says it should have more than 10db more signal to noise ratio, almost half the noise and with the pad it can record 158db, which is according to science louder than a 12ga shotgun with a 26" barrel. Crazy.
Finally, a TH-camr who puts the pop filter the proper distance from the microphone where it's actually doing something. Most people put it right up on the microphone which does nothing for plosives. The plosives have no time to spread out and dissipate after going through the filter if it's right up on the mic. So thank you for using that pop filter the right way. Refreshing.
Oh mate, your vocals are Orpheus level - gave me a massive soul stank face and totally charmed me, you have so much feeling! Really I don't respond to much, very jaded sometimes. But you have it.
i’m doing research and im interested in grabbing this mic to start recording vocals on for my first ep/demo. and u sold tf out me with those vocals and how rich and warm your voice sounded
Tim, many thanks and big hello from Russia! Your observing videos are very helpful, as I am making up my mind to get a confidence mic for my home recordings. I would like to say what a great voice and a style of guitar playing you posses (remindes me of Chris Stapelton a lot), you truly should and I hope you are living it and by it! Whish you lots of thankfull audience and success in all you do!!,
Wonderful review and what great playing... and a killer voice...you were also 100% correct about that hi frequency popping out. Many years ago when I first started fooling around with condenser mics I brought this mic right back to where I purchased it because of that exact harshness. Can be tamed of course and a good mic for strings...Great...terrific job !
Insane vocalist. I saw all the comments about your voice and I had to add. Bravo indeed. Too bad "Tim Moxey" only yielded some praise and worship singer on Spotify.
It all depends on what you are wanting to achieve. If you just need to get the mic into the computer something like the Behringer UM2 would probably work really well. If you are looking to hopefully build your system and get more into recording and add more channels etc... I would recommend something like the Focusrite Scarlette 4i4. You could go with the smaller Focusrite units but the 4i4 will give you the flexibility to play with outboard gear and midi down the track. I hope that helps.
Tim! I'm really loving your reviews and how you're using them to make real music (vs just futzing around with gear). How would you compare the AT2020 to the Shure PGA181 for acoustic guitar and vocals?
I think the AT2020 is a much better all rounder because of it's detail in the higher end. However the PGA 181 does sound good on instruments and would flatter an instrument that is possibly a little over bright. I'll put this comparison on the list for future videos. :) I hope that helps.
Thanks so much for the review and your vocals are great. If I can give you one tip as a vocal coach, I wanna hear you sing less "pretty/trained". I think it will make you sound even more versatile and emotional. The mic sounds great, is it weird to use this mic for the higher and sharper parts of the song? because i just dont like the way my rode nt1000 sounds with the same volume and more higher notes of what you just did, I am missing some warmth there
I'd love to know the mics you’d like to see a shoot out of against this one.

Hi do you have any recommendations for a condenser mic for vocals, in the price range of 300 dollars?
You are very talented, thank you!
Great voice, Brother!!! Decent sounding mic for the $$$! Thanks for the review!
Thank you. I have to say i was pretty impressed with the bang for buck of this mic too.

Hi friend, so I have a question about the interface... Which one do you recommend to use with the mic AT2020 ?

love your voice
Thank you.
Great voice!
What a voice it is
Amusing ❤
Great voice.
Great vid. I'd like to understand whether you could use it for acoustic and vox at the same time?
Thanks mate.
Is there any other mics in this price range you would suggest over this for streaming/singing
What a voice
Do you recommend having it higher or lower than you when you sing?
dam your voice is good 🙌
Can i use this mic on an iPhone 12?
Great work, for the price its surprisingly good.
Totally agree. I'm interested to shoot it out against some other mics.
thanks so much
does need phantom power?
All these comments but the song he linked barely has any likes. Go listen y'all!

Bro para vocales cuál sientes mejor el At2020 o pga181??
Definitely the at2020. The pga 181 just didn't have the colour i want on the voice.
Cool.
Thanks for information...ok I'm gonna buy this
I am glad I was able to help.
IS YOUR ROOM ACOUSTICALLY TREATED???
Yes, look at the background
