For some reason no one is talking about this but Blizzard literally just gave us the full view of the mysterious crystal Beledar from Hallowfall in the new book. Essentially what it looks like from every possible angle. It's definitely not a sword, it isn't a transdimensional ship and it doesn't seem like there is a Naaru there.
The upper part isn't the same as the bottom one but it does seem to be engineered to pierce the ground from all angles. Are we really looking at the primordial crystals from the creation of the universe that created all life - the Naaru and potentially the Void Lords, are we looking at a projectile shot by the Naaru in some ancient forgotten war, or could this be what remained from a Naaru ship in some ancient invasion of Azeroth?

what if the crystal is Azeroth herself? what if the seeds the naaru sent out to create life were these and the pantheon just makes them titans or voidlords or the dont get affected and become naaru
I don't think anyone said it is a ship...it is like Light's Heart, a massive Naaru core, probably from the Light trying to do what the other cosmic forces tried to, influence Azeroth's world soul.

Xera was the "Prime Naaru" and her heart wasn't nearly the size of this. If this is a core, it's probably of the mysterious holy light pantheon who probably created the Naaru.
answer is that's a Naaru fortress, central part is "Sun" Beladar and the coronet witch had been ejected is Elune ;)

It reminds me of Xe'ra's core with the markings, but damn that would be a huge light construct if it was.
It could be a core of a Light "titan"
Just a random thought, but if Azeroth is an unborn titan (well, unborn something) making the planet itself effectively an egg, something had to "fertilize" it. Maybe the crystal in Hallowfall was the Naaru's attempt to influence Azeroth to their side but the crystal got stopped before it could reach the target. Then the one shown in Azj'kahet is one the Old Gods were trying to use to do the same but either got deeper than the Naaru one and is in an unseen zone currently or got destroyed. The Naaru's crystal then maybe got damaged by Sargeras leading to their attempt also kind of failing.
On that theme, maybe the Light and Void aren't so much different pantheons but two sides of the same coin much like Life and Death. The Naaru flip to the void and back suggesting light and void are connected. The Arathi have only been in Hallowfall for like 15 years and only saw the crystal start to shift after Sargeras stabbed Azeroth, but the cycle of the crystal is really unknown before that. Maybe it always did that but the cycle was considerably longer. That'd be like us freaking out when the magnetic poles of Earth shift when it's occurred many times in the past. It just hasn't really done it in modern human history. The void/light nature of the crystal could then have light result in a light sided creature being born while void would result in a void one. Maybe the shift in the crystal isn't so much it reacting to what Sargeras did but an after effect of that. Maybe the creature inside Azeroth shifted closer to the Isle of Dorn away from the sword thus causing the crystal to react to it in the hopes of finally achieving what it was sent out to do.
Honestly, can't really get away with saying there's something inside Azeroth while suggesting the planet itself is effectively an egg to incubate it and then avoiding the birds and the bees side of things. But this is Blizzard. Like they'd really do something like that. I don't think many authors/TV shows/movies really broached that topic. I don't see Blizzard doing it, either. Most likely, maybe it was just the Naaru's effort to try to destroy Azeroth and keeping it from the Titans. You don't make a torpedo-like object and shoot it at something without the intent to harm or immobilize.
It kinda resembles the one Xavius used to Corrupt Ysera in Val'sharah

@@J479fstknvdsmakes it's even funnier considering Khadgar says in legion, when we attempt to unlock lights heart (the heart of a prime naaru), that Elune "may" have had a hand in helping create the prime naaru when the cosmos was first ordered. Maybe she was forced... guess what unlocked the prime naaru's heart... Elune's tear.
Think about it, you saw in the trailer how void tents were closing in into the heart of azeroth, thats basically whats inside that crystal & the reason it got purple

The Chronicle states that the Light and the Void are actually one, unable to exist without the other, so it makes sense that they are calling each other family.
My guess would be the "projectile" idea. This thing rammed itself into the planet, either to destroy or transform the so called "world soul", but it failed to reach its intended target, similar to Sargeras's sword.
Maybe it is a "seed" and for the Titan Azeroth to be raised, it needs to combine itself with the world soul
I think the name is something like “vessel of the sun”
And the ships carry the vessel concept but this one doesnt need to be a ship.

To me it looks like a gigantic version of the crystal we had to go pick up with khadgar in legion. Xe’ra’s core crystal. That would be one heck of a naaru

When they said it's gonna be War within in Azeroth, I thought it's the tip of Sargeras sword back in Legion. Turns out to be a crystal that can change between light and void. Maybe something thst the Light left behind so thr void won't get the World Soul but over time got corrupted by the void
If that is what I think it is, and I do think it is a giant Naaru core which also turns to void at times. And the titans thinks Azeroth is a titan, aswell as Azeroth has overcome death and cling to life, not to mention the amount of fel energies that have coursed through Azeroth.
To me it may as well be that Azeroth is a being with true balance between the cosmological forces (light, void, death, life, order and chaos.)
Great video! I was wondering if you have considered that the mural with the crystal has the crystal surrounded by light. I don't know why, but I imagine that being like the inside of a prison, which I think the crystal might be, and that maybe it contains the last void lord, since the titans needed something to trap it without killing it. The Mural is there as a description of the prison, probably meant as a warning but not one that has lasted, perhaps? Just a thought, let me know what you think if you get a chance. Thanks again for the ideas!
The most likely scenario is that the crystal is something the naaru trapped, as we have seen they like to trap those that don't bend to the light in yellow crystals. So it could be a void entity trapped by them that fell to Azeroth and is starting to escape. That is just my thoughts though.
I think Beledar is the core of a Light god, that switches between Light and Void, similar to the Naaru.
It reminds me of the crystal that was purified to make the ashbringer. I think it's original state was void. Because the bugs have always been underground. Something purified it just like that crystal.

A new idea: The light crystal is a phylactery for the world soul. Every cosmic power has a soul vessel / soul prison / soul weapon.
I've been looking at tons of writings from the different races of Azeroth trying to solve what I saw in the newest cinematic with no luck but those runes on the crystal are interesting. Void writings and light writings are not terribly different looking. You even showed some writing on the doorway on the Vindicaar at 5:06 but I'm leaning more towards void runes since they look more like straight lines vs the writings I've seen from Light sources.
Calling it right now, narru are imprisoned, brainwashed and purified void beings. Like how we did with the ashbringer Crystal.
They can turn back to the void with the light being drained. Illidan in that cinematic said he didn't wanna be a slave to the narrus light. Foreshadowing maybe.
I think the crystal was originally void and the catalyst for the void invasion but the Titans ordered it into light.
I doubt Blizzard knows what it is and are just writing stuff as they go.
I wonder if this is something we're going to see more of on Azeroth, like the light empire having an even bigger light crystal on their continent.
Plottwist: The Naaru were originally voidbeings all along but got warped to the beings they are by the light. Its just been so long that no one remembers it.

@@Nagria2112 Yep. Titans are Order. Runes are Domination magic, which is used to order. You can see the runes on the Naaru "ordering" them.
I did not know that naaru are originally void beings. Are the titans allied with the Light then? Since naaru are light beings. At least as we know them.

The Titans only care about the Titans. It would seem they're allied with that old ugly fuck whatshisface from Maldraxxus who made the Crown of Wills (which is just Light-infused domination magic), who gave them the power of domination / rune magic.

Like the ship they send out which is a void crystal. And after a while the crystal started to fade and go towards the light (like how when a naaru dies and turns to void)

It could simply be wreckage or weaponry from pre-titan ages, but the fact that it's occasionally shifting into voidmode means something different is happening to it now. It's important AND malleable enough that Xalatath is messing with it instead of destroying or ignoring it.
Also, Midnight is gonna happen. This thing is going to explode or hatch into that whole expansion.
I logged into a character in a vanilla zone and I looked at the loading screen. Velen's hand he seems to be holding a very bright crystal. The crystal looks like a very lit up version of Beledar. It's hard to tell though because those loading screens aren't that detailed.

What if the crystal was meant to turn Azeroth into a Naruu ?
I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone say it’s maybe a chrysalis of some sort of light/void being inside.
Does anyone remember the crystal that they used to make the Ashbringer ? I know that one was found on Outland, but i believe it's the same thing somehow.
Also, wild theory about the Naru, what if their natural state is shadow and somehow the light spread when one Naru became a light Naru and started converting others ? It would make sense that first there was the void then the light.
Could it be something like a world soul seed? If life was spread through the cosmos by these crystals hitting planets, maybe the world souls were born from that like some form of cosmic egg. Maybe this one couldn't grow into a world soul (either because it got embedded in the cave ceiling or because it's a second one that came after what became Azeroth already "fertilized" the planet). We know from naaru that once they use up their power they transform into the void state, which is what could be happening to Beledar as well.
Another interesting thing is that Azeroth itself is said to be able to awaken into a being of light or void. What if the Titans and void lords share the same origin? Maybe the crystals that did not impact planets drifted into outer space, gradually losing power until they became void lords.
We've seen some of the boundaries blur between light/order and void/chaos, and it seems to me that in the coming expansions they will take this further. I could see azeroth turning out to be not fully light or void but something in between, and Beladar possibly playing a role in the whole thing. It's just too significant to just be a justification for an underground day/night cycle.

Nah, it's just a massive mana gem that has been supplying the power all the cosmic forces thought was coming from Azeroth. Once it's fully depleted Azeroth will be revealed to be nothing of any real note and we'll get her as a battle pet.

Could the crystal be the seed of the world soul, Azeroth itself, and also a 'primordial crystal'? All the work the Titans were doing was to keep the crystal Light so the soul could be born as a being of Order and Light. But....Midnight is coming.

Hmm, I'm more leaning that the Crystal to well Clean cut to being natural by nature of creation. I would say the Crystal is a Tool of the Light. Perhaps a weapon or a method to effect a world soul. But it got stuck and didn't go deep enough. Since the Light and Void are 2 half's of the same coin. It isn't Farfetched to assume the void can mess around with Light Magic and objects as the Void is known to effect most of life and some constructs. The only thing by Lore the Void isn't able to corrupt and control was the Titans. There creations yes but not them directly. This could be a method for the Light to influence their invasion control of worlds.

I got one that's a little different, but what about the cataclysm zones are starting to look a little over a decade outdated! Will there be another revamp I know about northrend and quel'thalos are getting it. What about the cataclysm world revamp? It needs revamping.

my theory at the time is the titans and keeper build our world literally ontop of the black empire. a 2nd layer like we see in Azj-Kahet (layers ontop of layers)

what if.... n call me crazy on this one.... what if the naaru are not actualy beings of light but are actually of the void posing as light. maybe they dont like their nature and try to be light but then their willpower runs out n their true nature comes out. they do switch between light and void dont they so maybe the light is only a temporary form which uses their strength to keep that form but eventually they cant help it but revert back to their natural ways until they can snap out of it and come back to the light

Shaped very similar to a soulstone from diablo. It's huge tho. I can imagine it sticking out of the forehead of a light version of azeroth. Could contain a being or most likely I think it was placed in azeroth to turn the world soul into a light being much like the old gods were stuck into the planet to turn it void but then the titans put all the machinery into the planet to make azeroth an arcane being. I go back to the whisper she is not the last but the first. I wonder if Azeroth and Argus were the first ones. Mother and father of all creation. Azeroth the essence of creation and Argus the essence of destruction that created the other 6 forces that must live in balance but constantly try to overtake each other. Argus has a similar story to Cronos father of Zeus,hades and poseidon I believe.
