This doesn’t mean I think the best complement is itself a great ink, just that it is a nice complement color.

Out of all my jinhao fountain pens, the x750 I bought over a decade ago is still the smoothest with its stock nib.

I would say the x750 is my favorite from Jinhao... I think it is their best.

Yes absolutely amazing value for money fountain pen. I love the way it looks and feels in hand. I have used it for long writing sessions and I've found it comfortable with no hand or finger fatigue.
For the price you cannot go wrong with it at all.

This is the pen that first got me started in this hobby (it’s now been six years). My x750 was blue and it had the original nib, which I kept it on because it actually wrote quite admirably. I never actually tried switching a #6 size nib, but I suppose if the nib was bent then there’s always a replacement.
    -
I had been using it many times since my first introduction to fountain pens and the writing experience was different compared to using a ballpoint or a rollerball.
    -
I have another x750 after I gave up on my blue one that I had for so long; it’s now been inked with a shimmering purple ink. It’s a cheap pen and therefore I don’t have to worry about it clogging. I can just remove the nib and feed to make cleaning much more straightforward.
    -
Next year, I’m thinking of purchasing the Jinhao x159 because it has a #8 size nib that’s larger than the #6 and also, the original 159 has a metal bodied barrel whereas the newer one is lighter and made of plastic.

Well done for reviewing that pen, Adam. Happy 2023!

You were just feeling the calling of a great pen to be used again.

The X750 was my first Jinhao. Part of why I have more. Was a good writer right out of the plastic envelope. Plenty of writing with it (was in therapy and had plenty writing needed).
I had a a troll try to say how awful Jinhao pens are. "Not tipped and they wear right out." Riiiiiigggghhhhttttt. Not in any of my 20+... I've used untipped. These are tipped.
Thanks for the review of a somewhat underappreciated pen!

I just recently got me this pen and I have to agree,
even with the original M nib.

I don't think anyone can honestly have much bad to say about it.

Adam, I absolutely agree with everything you said. The X750 was my second (and third, fourth, and fifth!) fountain pen--a set of four cost just over $16 total, an outstanding price/quality ratio. It's easy to take this pen for granted, given the numerous low-cost alternatives available, but having used numerous other pens, I still find the X750 an excellent "everyday" writer, as you do. Along with the 100 Centennial and the X159, it remains among my three favorite Jinhao pen models. (The one major disadvantage of the X159 is the inability to switch nibs.)
The original Jinhao nib (#6, M) was decent enough but made the pen a very wet writer. On cheap paper, it wrote more like a Bold nib. I have since swapped a different nib into each of my several, X750s--Jowo (branded Goulet or Nemosine) F, M, 0.6, and 1.1 stub. The results are terrific, whether writing on Clairefontaine or Rhodia, or in a Mead composition notebook.

I don't think anyone can honestly have much bad to say about it, and the only improvement that can be made is what you did.

It would be great if you increase the brightness of the lighting when shooting writing, so that the color is not lost

I have 3 lights onto the page and do the best color ceooection I can... I color correct for the ink not the paper though. So often the paper doesn't look as bright as it should.

Great for the price. Replace the nib with a Jowo nib and it's a lot of bang for the buck. I tended to have occasional issues with replacement nib slippage (the feed is kind of junky), but still good overall.

I have the nib slippage issue, nut feel confident it was the constant disassembly for cleaning because it was just this one pen.
