Jones is the GOAT at light heavyweight.....not at heavyweight. He only has one win at heavyweight, while Aspinall has been KO'ing the entire heavyweight roster.
Jones is a natural heavyweight and has been a weight bully his entire career, cutting to 205 to get a size advantage. He arguably lost to Reyes and Santos, so there's no way he lasts a single round against Tom.
Do you know anything about MMA? Jon is a natural heavyweight? Do you know why they call him bones? Because he has been so skinny his whole life. Jon used to cut down from 220-223 to 205 lol. You got guys like Mahkachev cutting like 40 lbs, most of the guys at lightweight are cutting 30+ lbs. Either way I'd still bet on Jon to beat Tom even at 40 yrs...All you new casuals forgot about the greatest fighter ever..

I think his ego will stop him fighting Tom. Its only if he needs the money, which he wont after the Stipe fight. Its all very WWE.
I honestly dont understand why the ufc have went ahead with this fight, tom should/is be champion.
The title lineage needs to be completed... Ngannou is the true champion but he left the company so Jones has to beat the guy that Ngannou took it from to complete the lineage. After that fight then the UFC will offer Jones or Stipe Aspinall.
Yeah, I forgot who Stipe Miocic was. I had to look him back up. Jones will retire before fighting Aspinall. In the infamous words of Max Holloway - It is what it is.

Absolutely they are, if Jon beats Stipe then retires, the UFC have ultimately diminished the heavyweight championship. Francis was the last lineal champion, a guy that left the UFC years ago.
Feel for Tom because more than likely he won’t ever get the chance to win the title in the proper way. Having said that, he’s done enough to be respected as the real champion!
It’s getting boring this now, Tom fights the winner or becomes undisputed. Jon and Stipe both deserve this fight and for the belt as Jon is the current champ and if they both retire afterwards, fair play. Just because Tom got the interim and Jon got injured, it’s irrelevant, they’ve rescheduled let’s just move on now 😴
No. They damage it every time they make an interim belt out of thin air to compensate for a ppv. That's what caused this. Tom was the backup, last minute fighter and again will be a backup fighter.
Pretty sure the UFC isn't gonna lose money just to make a few people happy. Jon vs Stipe will make more than Toms next 5 biggest fights. Jon is a cash cow

Struggling to understand why this fight is happening. So after the retirement of both fighters, regardless of whoever wins, there will then clearly be a Title fight, IMO should be between Alex Pereira and Tom Aspinall

that was 4+ years ago when he was active (in a lower weight division) Jones himself said "you're not the champion until you defend", which he hasn't so Tom is the champ
Dude the ufc doesn't care if they block the division, they will make more off of this fight than Toms next 5 biggest fights... Honestly brotha, I love your commentating and I'm not being rude, but 90% of the fans couldn't care less to watch Tom vs Jon at all. In your UK bubble I get it its all the talk or whatever, but over here nobody really cares or they would get the division moving. If Jon was younger it would be a great fight to make but if Jon doesnt fight Stipe next he wont fight , and vice versa w Stipe no matter who gets injured. Tom wont fight either guy ever
I'm going to have to disagree with this, simply because of recently bias and because the ufc is 1 of the fastest growing sports on the planet.
A good% of the fans are brand new, they've never even seen stipe fight.... and yet they've seen aspinall ko how many guys in quick succession?
