I think it’s definitely in her top 5. It’s just so expressive and moving. Every sound is so ominous and captivating, leaving the explosive climax of the song at the end to add the perfect touch of diversity and emotion.
Oh I remember when I found this song early 2015. She had only just a thousands of subscibers. Now she is famous. I wanted her to be big, but back then she was our little secret. Room 93 was the best EP ever. And this song always be my favourite.
I think room 93 will forever be Halsey's most iconic piece of work at least for me. I discovered her right before she dropped badlands so maybe it's because I've seen her growth and im emotionally attached to this ep but there's just a different nostalgic feel that I have yet to find in any other album.
There's something about this song. It will always be my favorite by Halsey, it's just soooo gorgeous. Whenever it comes on I just step back for a second and breathe out. I will never get over this song.
I was 16 and 17 I was really broken hearted and had let go of my life I have a second chance a t life now I chose to heal it touches me it reminds me make me want to cry I'm 18 now lol but I'm here
this is the kind of song that when you hear for the first time, it means nothing, so you listen to it again and again and it kinda brings out a deeper meaning.
"I try to refrain, but you're stuck in my brain, but all I did was cry and complain- because seconds not the same".. The more I listen to this song the stronger the emotional connection becomes, and just wow. It's such a powerful song once you get to know it
+Juliett Frell try Penn Badgley's band, MOTHXR. Penn played Dan Humpfrey on CW's Gossip Girl. MOTHXR is very indie and their song Touch has no chorus, I think you'll enjoy them if you like Halsey.... :)
This song is so raw and real. Even though I've never been in a situation like she describes I feel like it happened to me, like it's happening to me. Her songs just put me in a place of experiencing what she's experiencing.
It's strange, I usually listen to music as something in the background, like while I make food or play video games or something. But with Halsey's sings and music, I can literally just sit here with my headphones in and listen! I don't listen to it to have something on in the background, I listen to it because it's just that good! It's like watching tv, all I have to do is close my eyes and I can imagine a video for the song in my head! The music is so powerful it is better than actually watching something for me! I'm sorry I went on for so long, it's just such beautiful music!
+antisocial teenager omg dude you have like the same mind as me I can like feel her music like running through my veins and her but like shes freaking queen and also twenty one piolets
im so glad that people agree! its funny because i sometimes even get distracted by the song if i put it on in the background, and end up sitting at my desk listening to it rather than doing my homework XD
+antisocial teenager same, she has such an amazing voice and I love the emotions she puts in her music. I feel like she could sing about carpets and i would still love it
You saw her live? You're so lucky I hope you know. I start to cry when I listen to the song. "Because Second's not the same" always fucks me up. Btw Larry and Phan is real!
Edina Dale I think you are one of my favorite people already. And same when she sings this live you can here the emotion in her voice which makes it 1000 times better.
+Summer Stylinson I wish I could see her live. But I live in Hungary and singers or bands doesn't come to here. Well I guess there's only the live youtube versions are left for me.
i used to listen to songs like this feeling something terrible and shattering, but now it doesn't hurt. trust me, you'll feel safe with yourself and someone else one day. but +Delmar Davis does have a good point
Not neccessarily, some songs just have good tunes and a good beat. Not every song has to make you feel smoething. I certainly prefer when they do, but it doesn't just have to be through the lyrics. It could just be through the beat of the song, that provokes a particular emotional response or reaction
: Well you don't necessarily have to feel deep emotion, if you feel legitimately NOTHING the song is probably some sex song basic people are obsessed with.
This is the best song ever created It's calm, dark, cold, and full of memories I love the way there's no chorus in this song This song goes, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Then this part where the melody is so beautiful, ended with the part 5 which is so flawless It's like the end of the world, a new sensation i've never felt before Part 1 : 00:00 Part 2 : 00:30 Part 3 : 01:00 Part 4 : 01:30 Melody : 02:00 Part 5 : 02:30 Ending : 03:00
My first time writing a comment and I've had the account eight years or so! This song reminds me of my younger days. I'm 23 now but when I was 19 I secretly met this guy. He was the love of my life. We had an amazing relationship. Every weekend we'd book a random hotel somewhere in Dublin, Ireland. Nobody knew we were gay. The amount of fun we had in the hotel is unmeasurable. We'd dance, drink, joke around, watch movies, order food, be romantic and everything else. In the end he broke my heart. He is two years older. He cheated with another guy. Sad thing is - if he asked me to forgive him, I would.
+John O'Brien my heart have a little hurt when i heard your story, be strong John, i think one day you will find somebody who loves you more you love him
You can get through this! I'm sure a really great person. If he could leave you that easily, then he's not worth it no matter how great he was. Just keep on going and I'm sure you'll that somebody for you! If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here! :)
You're dancing in your tube socks in our hotel room Flashing those eyes like highway signs Light one up and handt over rest your head upon my shoulder I just wanna feel your lips against my skin White sheets, bright lights, crooked teeth, and the night life You told me this is right where it begins But your lips hang heavy underneath me And I promised myself I wouldn't let you complete me Im trying not to let it show, that I don't want to let this go Is there somewhere you can meet me? Cause I clutched your arms like stairway railings And you clutched my brain and eased my ailing You're writing lines about me; romantic poetry Your girl's got red in her cheeks, cause we're something she can't see And I try to refrain but you're stuck in my brain All I do is cry and complain, because 2nd's not the same I'm sorry but I fell in love tonight I didn't mean to fall in love tonight You're looking like you fell in love tonight Could we pretend that we're in love? I'm sorry but I fell in love tonight I didn't mean to fall in love tonight You're looking like you fell in love tonight Could we pretend that we're in love?
i miss the old blue haired mermaid halsey. although i love the current badlands era halsey, all her current shows and style seem kinda fake to me but i don't know how to explain it fully. room 93 halsey feel more original and organic to me, maybe because that's the type of halsey that i first found
You know why I love this song so badly ? Just look at the comments. It makes us talk about our deepest beautiful story, about that one person we love more than anything. That is why this song is to me the most beautiful one ; simply because we're living it and not just listening to it.
honestly, i feel like this is the most underrated halsey song. its so beautiful, my favorite of hers. i loved room 93 more than badlands, badlands had so much hype and i expected it to be like room 93 but it was not and made me dislike the album a bit (although i have a few favorites like coming down, gasoline, etc) and i felt like room 93 symbolized her much more, as an artist and person. this song is absolutely gorgeous from all parts you see it. its catchy and brilliant, and before halsey was as big as she was now, this was my recommendation song. still is. i adore you ashley, and is there somewhere.
Every single Halsey song make me feel so different. They make me think about my life and everything that’s been going on and I always feel so light and free when I listen to them, I don’t know what I’d do without Halsey in my life💙
i used to worship Halsey, especially before Badlands, I don't like most of the songs on that album and usually skip them, if she likes her music, fine, I just ADORE this ep, I feel like it was more personal though I know Badlands is VERY personal and the lyrics all carry meanings..
yeah, i tried to justify my opinion as clearly as possible, so rather than attacking me and complaining over something you have no control or buisness about, read the comment and continue, yeah? FigarollaAbusiva
even if i was so immature and young, i wish i could relive the period of my life when Halsey and this EP were my entire world and everything was just so simple and full of hope. I’m grateful this is how i spent my time on the internet when i was 13; i’m 18 now and i tear up thinking it’s only gonna get tougher moving forward. I miss my internet friends (which i hope are okay) and my little online memories and obsessions and how much i romanticized everything, everywhere. it came so easily back then, while now i struggle to even feel things when listening to music or doing anything. i miss feeling alive everytime i left the house and saw a sunset and i yearn to just get a glimpse of that euphoria once more, even if it’s a feeling so far gone. i used to dream about falling in love and living like the songs in this project (if that makes sense), having hurricane teenage years, when in reality i feel like i’ve wasted most of that time and let myself down. not the same.
This was the Tumblr Halsey I call her Ashley. Room 93 was such a depressed and beautiful meanful album or EP how you call it. Badlands is a new starting, where she tells her story. In Room 93 we only get a little part of her and her life. She chainged because of fame. As you can see she is now not that long blue haired Tumblr girl. I'm here and waiting for her Second album, where we can get to know her more.
Halsey you have got such a unique voice where I think you got the edge on a lot of female vocalists because when the listener is hearing you, we get to hear all the emotions too and I am far far far from being an expert but that must be so hard to keep the concentration levels up there. I enjoy your music and I know you take the piss rotten out of me but don't let them try and stop you from writing cos to me you are the best and that's me being absolutely genuine.. Love and best wishes to your family. PS. Please don't joke around with me anymore cos it fkn hurts so bad..x
This song never really affected me until this year during summer. I just remember sitting outside in my garden and listening to this and crying out of nowhere. In 2015 I used to say I LOVED this song but I think this year I really loved this song.
0:31 makes me feel so good. It reminds me of the sky at midnight and the way the stars are sorted out so subtly but so beautifully. It paints a gorgeous picture in my brain for me
This album is terribly underrated. It's a shame how soulless her recent collaborations have been especially considering her capacity to write lyrics like these.
eh i miss this halsey. i remember being on tumblr 24/7 and we were all obsessed with her and this entire era. before she went viral when she was my lil secret. i kinda wanna say good old times but they werent. now i realize how lonely i was and how these songs were all an escape from real life and the problems i had. anyways, this is probs her top 3 in her discography
This song is the most beautiful song to ever exist. Yes, it's about being someone's "second" but that's exactly what makes this song so blissful; it's because their relationship is doomed from the beginning. From the very beginning they both knew their relationship would have an expiry date and yet they took a chance on their love. And now they're both in this terrible mess, they're both in love but they can't do anything about it. And it hurts so fu*king much and they don't know what to do. It's so beautiful.
In general, Halsey's songs are a safe zone for me, and in particular this song has a special place for me.. This song can relieve my stress in the most difficult moments 🎵❤️
when I first heard this song I was 10, I didn’t understand it n it made me so nostalgic for no reason. that was 4 years ago. no one knew who halsey was. she’s just released badlands and was known as an emo singer. now she’s everywhere. I love halsey, but I really miss the old her :( I love you h 💓
holy i remember when i listened to this in 2014 and i wanted her to be big so bad because she deserved so much more recognition and now this has 6 million views. proud is an understatement.
I actually wish she had a steady chorus with the closing bit of this song "I'm sorry but I fell in love tonight" Cuz it's so beautiful - a few seconds wasn't enough to revel in the emotion of those lines and the intense music behind it.
tbh i love how halsey is famous now.. she deserves it.. but what i hate is when people who disliked her music back then seems all over her music now, bcoz she's starting to go mainstream... ps. those people are my friends -.-
This song is just a masterpiece, I always feel so many things when I hear this song. Almost crying, remembering how young love feels, how obsessive love feels, and those ones that got away.❤
I saw her when she opened up for Imagine Dragons for their Smoke and Mirrors tour. When we got home from the concert I looked up her music found Room 93 and I have been in love with her music since then! ❤❤
Halsey is a masterpiece.
True
but now, she's tearing through the pages and the ink

But your lips hang heavy underneath me
And I promised myself I wouldn't let you complete me
Im trying not to let it show, that I don't want to let this go

i used to worship Halsey, especially before Badlands, I don't like most of the songs on that album and usually skip them, if she likes her music, fine, I just ADORE this ep, I feel like it was more personal though I know Badlands is VERY personal and the lyrics all carry meanings..
+Buse Gok yes... someone gets it. lots of hype for badlands but im in love with the ep far more than the badlands album. still great work though!
I feel like Room 93 sounds more raw and authentic... that's the difference i thought.
+Buse Gok Every fucking song is actually about her, and struggle with guys and her life. What do you mean for "more personal"?
yeah, i tried to justify my opinion as clearly as possible, so rather than attacking me and complaining over something you have no control or buisness about, read the comment and continue, yeah? FigarollaAbusiva
Couldn't agree more. Badlands seems so much generic. Room 93 is free of mainstream influence.
even if i was so immature and young, i wish i could relive the period of my life when Halsey and this EP were my entire world and everything was just so simple and full of hope. I’m grateful this is how i spent my time on the internet when i was 13;
i’m 18 now and i tear up thinking it’s only gonna get tougher moving forward. I miss my internet friends (which i hope are okay) and my little online memories and obsessions and how much i romanticized everything, everywhere. it came so easily back then, while now i struggle to even feel things when listening to music or doing anything.
i miss feeling alive everytime i left the house and saw a sunset and i yearn to just get a glimpse of that euphoria once more, even if it’s a feeling so far gone. i used to dream about falling in love and living like the songs in this project (if that makes sense), having hurricane teenage years, when in reality i feel like i’ve wasted most of that time and let myself down.
not the same.
i miss this halsey
+Alex Hicks finally someone agrees
This was the Tumblr Halsey I call her Ashley. Room 93 was such a depressed and beautiful meanful album or EP how you call it. Badlands is a new starting, where she tells her story. In Room 93 we only get a little part of her and her life. She chainged because of fame. As you can see she is now not that long blue haired Tumblr girl. I'm here and waiting for her Second album, where we can get to know her more.

ı like her with every style she make. Cause she is a person too. And ı don't thing she changed
No one's snapchat brought me here, I just genuinely adore Halsey and her music.
Finally I found one genuine comment.
Evelyn Chavez same, thank god
Same:/
Haha how lovely. However, if someone was brought here by somebody else, that doesn't mean that they can't/don't love her and her music as much.
Evelyn Chavez Exactly.
Ps. It's the BABY Blu x
This song never really affected me until this year during summer. I just remember sitting outside in my garden and listening to this and crying out of nowhere. In 2015 I used to say I LOVED this song but I think this year I really loved this song.
It makes me cry also 😢😭
Legitimately 90% of these views must be from me alone
ur 0.0000001%
then I'm the other 10% 😂
that cant be because 99.9% of those views are mine
100.1% of those views are literally mine ok
I am this song, jeez guys
0:31 makes me feel so good. It reminds me of the sky at midnight and the way the stars are sorted out so subtly but so beautifully. It paints a gorgeous picture in my brain for me
this was one of the first songs i heard from halsey.. ♥
same
This album is terribly underrated. It's a shame how soulless her recent collaborations have been especially considering her capacity to write lyrics like these.
my first was a hurricane remix
+Caoimhin Yeah, I feel the same way.....
valyrianstorm same, although my first was ghost
*feelings activated*
eh i miss this halsey. i remember being on tumblr 24/7 and we were all obsessed with her and this entire era. before she went viral when she was my lil secret. i kinda wanna say good old times but they werent. now i realize how lonely i was and how these songs were all an escape from real life and the problems i had. anyways, this is probs her top 3 in her discography
this song still makes me cry
every fucking time
😳
This song is the most beautiful song to ever exist.
Yes, it's about being someone's "second" but that's exactly what makes this song so blissful; it's because their relationship is doomed from the beginning. From the very beginning they both knew their relationship would have an expiry date and yet they took a chance on their love. And now they're both in this terrible mess, they're both in love but they can't do anything about it. And it hurts so fu*king much and they don't know what to do.
It's so beautiful.
What to do in this situation I been trying to let go but still go back. I love him
In general, Halsey's songs are a safe zone for me, and in particular this song has a special place for me..

This is such a underrated song. It deserves so much more recognition. The lyrics are so deep, personal and beautiful.

holy i remember when i listened to this in 2014 and i wanted her to be big so bad because she deserved so much more recognition and now this has 6 million views. proud is an understatement.
nabila oh my god same, she's come so far it's kinda surreal
nabila I feel ashamed that I didn't discover her before Badlands came out... she definitely deserves all of this.
i miss this times
decided to check out halsey today and i'm so glad i did :-)
"and i promised myself i wouldn't let you complete me"
This song takes me back to a place I don’t miss one bit but I’m astonished by how a song transports me in such a deep way
same, I always come back to this song whenever I feel sad it’s perfect
i love this song so much. i relate to most of the lyrics, and it makes me go through so many emotions. not a lot of songs can do that to me.
it also makes me really sad because she sang it at the concert and it was really fun and i wish i could go back and do it again.
ugh this is forever my favorite halsey song
This will always be her most underrated song ever.
I’ll keep coming back to this song. It sends you into a different world
This is the first halsey song I ever listened to and it's still one of my all time favorites to this day
This song always punches me right in the feels.
more like attacks your heart *
Am I the only one who melts when she says "Romantic Poetry"????
Nope i do too
coming back to this bop during the quarantine
h true
Yup still🥲
Yeah💙💙
2024 one of Halsey best songs ever With 3 classic albums already ❤❤❤❤
this song is genuinely making my soul hurt and i'm loving every second of it
I am here six years later but honestly this song is the best
Love you Halsey!!!
beautiful Halsey
I actually wish she had a steady chorus with the closing bit of this song "I'm sorry but I fell in love tonight" Cuz it's so beautiful - a few seconds wasn't enough to revel in the emotion of those lines and the intense music behind it.
can't stop listening to this. it's like a drug.
It is a cure too
This song allows me to feel 12 emotions at once and covers me in goosebumps
this might be sound rare , weird or whatever .. but i miss when halsey wasn't too famous , does anyone feel the same ?
Ik sme
tbh i love how halsey is famous now.. she deserves it.. but what i hate is when people who disliked her music back then seems all over her music now, bcoz she's starting to go mainstream...
ps. those people are my friends -.-
hipster wannabe
i miss her old music
Patricia yeah
Love her voice. Has a nice originality to it. Like when u hear this voice u always kno it's Halsey... Right..
