I just diced my own tomatoes and purée them in a blender. Canned tomatoes and tomato paste not only have sugar but they have tons of salt too. I did 4 1/2 pounds of tomatoes. I also roasted my peppers instead of frying them to give it a better flavor.
I agree, I am surprised he used tomato paste, lots of sugar in there. I like to brown beef in different pan to caramelize the meat and drain the fat. I then add the meat to cooked onions, then add the seasoning and cook it into the meat. If using the paste, add to the meat and meld it together, then add the liquid. It will bring the flavors to a new level
I made this last night! Doubled the recipe for my huge family & cooked it in an 8-qt. cast iron dutch oven. They devoured it! No one said a word about no beans in it! Def a keeper recipe!
Nice video. When I make my chili, very similar to yours, I make it in my 5 quart cast iron Dutch oven. I then put it on my pellet smoker uncovered and smoke it with some Jack Daniels charcoal pellets for 2 hours at 180F. Man oh man does it add some great flavor.
I've made this for the second time now today. Would never have thought to put bacon in chili - great idea! I also add some brown gravy powder to give it some richness and sometimes also add cauli rice to give chili some bulk since it doesn't have beans.
My hands burn like their on fire for hours and hours after I cut an jalapeno. Nothing but time stops them from burning and it's not pleasant. I've also started coughing after eating it so might be developing an allergy to them. 😢😢😢
@@diegoalatorre5040 That's a common misconception... It's not the seeds, its the white part holding the seeds. The seeds themselves are the least spicy part 👍And they sometimes have a somewhat bitter taste also. So it's better to leave them out anyway...
DUDE! I just made this the other day. I made some turnip french fries and had chili cheese fries. The next day I used it for chili cheese dogs (no bun of course). Then a bowl a day since then with a blob of sour cream and some shredded chedda! You, sir, are a rock star. Thanks for the continuous onslaught of recipes.
I made this today!! BEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This will last me for a few days I could eat it twice a day and not get tired of it! Thank you so much for the recipe. ❤️
Just made this and im sooooo happy I put some aside before the rest of my family found the pot, all the rest is completely gone!! Thank you for the delicious recipe 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I used 3lbs of beef because that’s what I had frozen. I used the same, but more of the spices called for. This was delicious. Certainly keeping this one on hand.
I put this chili in a small skillet, heat it to a simmer, then crack two or three eggs in it. Season the eggs, cover with a lid, and cook till the whites are set and the yolks are medium. A bit of cheese and breakfast is served! Fantastic!
Joe!! I made this yesterday, kept the recipe, but I added 2 extra bell peppers. SO GOOD! After inhaling 2 bowls, yes two.....I still have 5 meals left for the week. Thank you so much. I will be following more of your channel. THANK YOU FOR MAKING KETO SO EASY AND ENJOYABLE!
Good recipe. I prefer my Chili without beans. I forget which chef said it back when I was a kid, but the saying was "If you know beans about Chili then you know real Chili doesn't have beans." Whoever that chef was they also made their Chili with beef roast instead of ground meat. That might just be going too far towards authenticity. I'd like to try this recipe and make it as a green Chili as well. Thanks for this. Edit: Just remembered who the chef was. (hanging my head for not remembering since I love him so much) It was Bobby Flay and he used beef sirloin, I think. Sorry Bobby. Love you!
Love this recipe! I substituted beef with ground turkey and added a dash of cayenne and a half teaspoon of sumac. Tasty stuff! And thank you for the ever-present pronunciation of oregano because now I can't say it any other way.
You are the man... My God bro you rock this recipe not only looks good.... It is... Thank you so much for keeping us on track on keto... So appreciate this channel
I just made some chili last week in the crock-pot. I like using the crock pot. I also like mine with less tomato stuff and more spices. Some people are tomato chili people and some aren't. It's a personal preference. Chili on!!
I never thought about adding bacon to chili-I can’t wait to finally get so cool weather so I’m in the mood to make a big pot of chili. Definitely going to add bacon!
That was one of the things I loved about this recipe, the bacon. I'd love to use some country slab bacon so it would stay present in the chili and you can bite into pieces of it.
Omg thank you so much for this chili recipe ..... made it tonight for the first time I absolutely loved it .....it will be one of my favorites now Sooooo much flavor......
Literally in the process of making this, and already it's so good!! Ur beef and cheddar soup is to die for. I've made others before, those don't even come close!!
I'm still making this 2 years later. I do add salt though. Not sure if it was left out of the recipe intentionally or not. I have used black soy beans in this recipe occasionally as well.
No recipe card? I get it, getting me to watch again eh? Sneaky ol chef! :) I was going to do a cheeseburger casserole tonight, but this sounds better. Going back to the market after work today!
The beef should be fried by itself FIRST. THEN GREESE placed over paper towels in garbage can. Then you can add your ingredients to your drained ground beef.
8 CARBS 😉 Net only works for some. Did net before and gained weight. Good looking low carb chili. I'll probably dice the onions and peppers finer. I like to toss my chili on some Hilo Chips or some cauliflower tots. Make a large batch for a week of work lunches. 😋
Or-ray-gano. Or ... Or-reg-ah-know 😂🤷♂️
Joe Duff - The Diet Chef O-re-gar-no. (Australian accent)
Nicole B Lol
Joe Duff - The Diet Chef Or-ray-gano is British pronunciation. Or-reg-ah-know is American. Both are correct. 😂
Mexican here: the second way is the right one
O -re -ga -no
You are correct you won't miss the beans even though I'm not on keto anymore, 2 years later I'm still making this recipe and still without the beans..
Eek - I didn’t know the beans weren’t keto-friendly. 😳
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Omg🤤can’t wait to make this! Who else was sold the moment he said bacon??

I’m making this Keto Chili right now! It’s coming along well so far! I made mine with ground turkey and turkey bacon.
I've made this for the second time now today. Would never have thought to put bacon in chili - great idea! I also add some brown gravy powder to give it some richness and sometimes also add cauli rice to give chili some bulk since it doesn't have beans.
Cauli rice is such a good idea!! Thank you for sharing
The part about wearing rubber gloves to cut up a jalapeno cracked me up.
I poured milk in my wife’s eye one time bc of the oil from jalapeños, so people gotta know 😉😉
My hands burn like their on fire for hours and hours after I cut an jalapeno. Nothing but time stops them from burning and it's not pleasant. I've also started coughing after eating it so might be developing an allergy to them. 😢😢😢
Oil? The seeds is the spicy part of any pepper... smh

I know it's the most ❄️ thing I've seen in a cooking video yet

This recipe was SO good. Full of flavor and we have plenty for leftovers for the next couple days 😁
Just made this and im sooooo happy I put some aside before the rest of my family found the pot, all the rest is completely gone!! Thank you for the delicious recipe 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Ok. I'm making this this weekend. I love chili.
I used 3lbs of beef because that’s what I had frozen. I used the same, but more of the spices called for. This was delicious. Certainly keeping this one on hand.
Just made enough for a week. Omg it came out so goood. I want another bowl
I've been waiting for this since the start of winter🥺
Yep, I came here looking for a CHUNKY keto chili, and this definitely looks like a chunky chili. Well done!
2 lbs Ground beef, green bell peppers, yellow bell pepper, jalapeño, onion, 2 cloves garlic, keto tomato sauce(no sugar), bacon, oregano, cumin, chili powder, beef bone broth, tomatoes, tomato paste (no sugar) ,2 tbsp hot sauce, black pepper , serve w/ fresh chives.
Made your recipe with my added seasonings and wow it’s the best chili I’ve ever had/made.. truly delicious and you’ll never make it any other way
I put this chili in a small skillet, heat it to a simmer, then crack two or three eggs in it. Season the eggs, cover with a lid, and cook till the whites are set and the yolks are medium. A bit of cheese and breakfast is served! Fantastic!
Glad you like it brad
Dang this is a great idea for breakfast
I've made this with ground Turkey! It's awesome! Ty

I make this chili at least once a week. It is definitely a favorite in the house.
Just made this tonight…oh man! It was delicious. For me I may add a bit more of the spices, but it was so good & filling. Thanks Joe! 🙏🏽
Love this recipe! I substituted beef with ground turkey and added a dash of cayenne and a half teaspoon of sumac. Tasty stuff! And thank you for the ever-present pronunciation of oregano because now I can't say it any other way.
Now I'm really hungry - today I fast, tomorrow I feast - I will cook this up tomorrow.
My husband has declared this to be the BEST chili I’ve ever made. I love it too. Everything Joe says about it here is true!
That is awesome!!!
I halved everything and follow your instructions. It tasted really good!

I just made some chili last week in the crock-pot. I like using the crock pot.

Chili on!!
Tomatoes have a lot of sugar. That is tough for a diabetic.
I just made this chili yesterday and it was soooo good. I'm ready for leftovers today.
Those cheesy puffs are amazing, love it

The beef should be fried by itself FIRST. THEN GREESE placed over paper towels in garbage can. Then you can add your ingredients to your drained ground beef.
I'd top it with a little chopped cilantro but great recipe. Out to the garden to get some peppers.
I've been craving chilli lately. Can't wait to try this!
8 CARBS 😉
