I forgot to mention! You can get dog collars with the ‘if you find me ‘ info embroidered on the collar. You can also get a collar with an engraved metal bar riveted onto the collar with the tag info in the engraving. I feel much better with this on him on the off chance that he loses his dog tag. I believe you can get them on Amazon. Just search for custom dog collar or engraved dog collar. Someone would have to remove the collar and the collar will wear out long before the metal band ‘tag’. Just saying, in case you were thinking about another identifier instead of a tag that falls off. He is also micro chipped. Just an ‘Oh yeah! Did you know ‘ FYI kind of thing.
If you have the time and the inclination, the Hollybush pub in the village of Salt is one of our favorites on the system. Walk across the River Trent and into the village from Bridge 82, then turn right to walk the short distance to the pub.
Those "overdressed " folks were in Bee suits handling a beehive. The white boxes were beehives. The "Bee stung" look is very nice, unless it is done by hundreds of real bees. Those white outfits are perhaps the oldest style Hazmat suit around. God Bless you all.

Southern T&M in late July - rather you than me!. Come to the fens instead: total traffic passing us today, on the visitor moorings at Prickwillow on the River Lark - one boat (don't know what sort, it before I was up) and two middle-aged ladies wild-swimming.
We also saw the rescue 1 boat. We decided it's an ex trip boat that explains the windows and the rescue window may have been a designated emergency escape.

As far as George goes, you might try what I do for my Beagles. I pop rivet their tags to their collars. Seems better, no noisy jangling, nothing to snag, and two points of contact to the collar. I’ll send a photo to your FB

On that day we were cruising from Penkridge to Autherley Junction. As you say, it was a completely different weather day to the day before. The UK weather is so unpredictable!

You may have just answered the question of what flag to get. How about one that says "queued" for when you are lined up for a lock. If you could get a narrowboat system going maybe it would clear up some confusion.

Was there a Rescue 1? I know there was Thunderbird 1 and Fab 1, both associated with International Rescue... but don’t remember a Rescue 1. It is the name of a company in the States that makes fire trucks, but the logo is all wrong. M
We’ve certainly seen and met some boaters of Caribbean, Indian, and Pakistani descent, but I’ll admit the canals seem to skew rather heavily towards the paler crowd, especially among older boaters. M

Don't seem to be many Anglers on the canals today, that used to be a very good stretch of Canal. Weston salt and ingestre.
Come to think of it there have been less anglers about, and least on the T&M; saw quite a few on the Caldon though. M
