So glad I found this! I’ve been puzzling for ages how to join the Noel Nine Patch squares because they are different colours and the instructions seemed a bit sparse. Now I understand! It may be worth linking to this tutorial specifically in the pattern? I LOVE The blanket
@@beckyhilton3530 Hi Becky, when you are starting the joining round, begin by making half of the first corner. You will complete that corner when you have worked all the way round and back to where you started.
I have just finished square 2 and am going to do the 5th round to join.Do I have the right side facing me as I join,or the wrong side.b.t.w. Lovely pattern,(so looking forward to sewing in the ends😂)not, but the end result will justify all that sewing.
The right side of the square is where the bobbles look thickest ( their wrong side). That is the side that will be on the front of the blanket, and as the join as you go is always worked on the front, the right side will be facing you for Round 5. And try to look on the sewing ends bit as an integral part of the whole process! I sincerely like sewing in the ends. There’s something calming and rhythmical about it and I get a lot of satisfaction from the tidy result. OK I’ll shut up now!😂😂
Morning Marion if I’m left handed do I start my joining opposite to what you are showing? I start making the squares from the opposite side of the pattern. Going Left to Right?
Thanks for the detailed explanation, Marian. I enjoy your blankets, they are exceptional crochet work. Thanks for sharing your crochet knowledge.
You’re welcome.
I too would love a left handed join as you go. Struggling so much and would love to learn it properly. Thank you

For the final round of an individual square, (when we turn the work to the correct side), do we do a full corner or half corner?

That’s right. When I get the chance, I will do a left handed version but for now, just do like you say
