Thank you very much for making a quick and to the point video on how to do this mundane maintenance point. I truly appreciate when someone who has done something before makes their demo video and gets right to the matter of what it is and how to take it apart and what is needed; instead of trying to draw a simple thing out 10 plus minutes like they are going to get mad youtube money from it.

thanks for your video! my husband was going to take our caravan to the dealer. I stopped him and changed the battery myself.
I took my Dodge van to the dealer to get the key fob battery changed no it's good it don't need changed
So you might as well do it yourself the dealers ain't got no sense
Great communicator. He makes it easy to replace the battery. Good job.
Also, while splitting the fob open, be super careful that the metal switch does not fall out of place. There is a tiny spring that makes the key click into place a not be able to fall out. No spring means the key can get lost at any moment. 2nd, if the motherboard comes loose from the rubber keys, be on the lookout for these small circles that lay centered on each button. Order of placement is rubber nobs / small loose circles per button / then motherboard. If one of those small circles is not centered then your button becomes very unstable and sensitive. My trunk would pop open very easily just if my keys were in my pocket, until I centered those circles. So just be very careful.
BRO YOU JUST HELPED ME FIX A 6 MONTH PROBLEM WITH MY CHALLENGER… I would always have my trunk pop open when I threw my set of keys in the cup holder or had them in my pocket… I figured it was the rear regulator but it still kept happening. I had to buy a whole new key and the battery just died in it
My spare didn't work. After watching this video. I opened the remote and cleaned it. Now the remote works. Thank you.

Just pull the key a quarter of the way out and pry it up while holding the other half of the down so it splits apart. Works perfectly and no risk of scratching the fob up with the knife or screwdriver.

Dodge ram - Mine had a tiny Philips screw in where the key was removed that I had to remove in order to split the key fob. Slightly different key but very similar. Video helped thanks

I tried with the pocket screw drivers months ago and was too worried about breaking it, but that butter knife trick was fantastic. I was thinking of trying it before but thought I would definitely break it. After watching you do it I was like, okay, well, let's try it too and I was done changing it within a minute. Thank you!

Thank you for making this video. I had a rental car and suddenly the key died. I look this up and it resolved my issue.
my ram came with one fob and the buttons were wearing out so I got a new one (not cheap by the way). the inside of the old one and the new one were much different. the bracket for the battery fell out when I opened it to put in a new battery and I could not for the life of me figure out how it went in. when I googled it all I could find were fobs like my old one. thankfully I finally found this video which showed me what I needed. Thank you!

Be sure to check the little circle contacts that touch the circuit when you press the buttons, mine was just out of place, didnt have to change the battery after all!

I have a 2010 charger, used this video to change batteries (thank you!) and cleaned the back of the board. I still have to mash quite a few times before it'll lock or unlock the car. One of the keys just won't work no matter how many times I mash or want to stomp on it.

Hi. Thanks for this! Only thing I would add, is, it would have been helpful to say what kind of battery it was, so I could purchase it before taking it apart. Couldn't see it on my phone screen. Turns out it was a CR2032 3-volt.

We just bought that Dodge caravan and we got 3 key fobs with it change the battery in all three of them one works guess the others wheren't meant too last owner said he paid 90 for the new ones one of them didn't even have a cut key but I thank u very much I don't drive my wife does and I got bad knees was a bit of a bitch to stand there and walk all the way around the van to open my door
I had a problem with my truck popping open when I didn’t want to so I decided to take the remote apart and clean it not a problem since working good now and I replaced the battery

I just got a 2010 Dodge Charger. The fob has remote start but doesn’t work. Hopefully this fixes it
While you have it open, take a small piece of paper, folded to the appropriate size, cover the PANIC Button contacts, before reassembly. This will prevent the button, when keys are in your pocket with everything else, having the button depress setting off your PANIC alarm.

Some fobs have a tiny screw that's hidden behind the hard key that needs to be removed.

Be very careful to open it on a flat light colored surface in case tiny saucer shape contacts fall off the backside of the rubber pads. They are glued but sometimes have moved around. If so, it's probably the reason the key was no longer working but do change the battery as well as gluing the contacts back in place to the rubber pad. Give the glue ample time to dry as per instructions so they don't stick to the circuit board.

Hey boss did you have to bypass the transponder to install that push start button? I have same one for dodge charger and same key and i know its a transponder fob.

When the batteries are being held up to the camera you can see the number there… it’s CR2032

I have a 2009 Dodge charger. Would replacing the battery fix other issues I'm having with my car?
Tacari Addison probably will only fix things mentioned. If yours has remote start it could fix that issue while using your remote,
@@PlumCrazyShaker I found out the issue. My "solenoids". Something about my transmission. Car is currently in the shop. Pray for me. Lol

The dealership in my hometown wanted $300 taxes in to replace the fob. Called Part Source after watching this video and they want $5 for the battery AND they'll help replace it! The dealership can kiss my ass!!
I have a 2003 dodge grand caravan I replace battery it last for a few days then my van started chirping and it start locking and unlocking its self and wouldn't stop so finally it stop, so whats wrong
Just open it back up and check the circles on the opposite side of the motherboard
