- Kobelco Excavators Production In Japan - Factory Tour
This is Itsukaichi factory in Japan where assembly workers has to hand-building Kobelco excavators. Here are produced of medium, large hydraulic excavators in the range of 7 to 220 tons.
Also, the production of mini excavators was established at the Ogaki (Japan) plant and the Chengdu (China) plant manufactures from small-size to large-size excavators.

I' ve seen 5 or 6 years ago a Kobelco excavator with long reach boom working in Thailand.Very impressive.

Wait a second, since it builds in Japan, why does it has Chinese 5 star flag next to the Kobelo Green Flag? 00:01. It's not Japan Factory, it is China branch factory locate in Chengdu with Japanese funding.

Personally I think kobelco are the second best manufacturers of excavators in the world. The smaller, lesser known company KATO make the finest excavators there is.
Personally I prefer Volvo excavator as my first choice, Kobelco and hitachi are my second.
Definitely Caterpillar and Komatsu are the best in performance and product, spare parts support. Mining in Australia mostly use this two brands and the rest are minority.

The company that does not manufacture its own engines for the hydraulic system. I consider it as a mere installation company and not as a manufacturing company. Therefore, I consider the American Caterpillar Company and the German Liebheer to be in the lead.
Japanese Komatsu is also develops the main components, including the engine, in-house.
