Thanks for making this video, even though it took so much effort. It was actually extremely informative and shines a lot of light on multiple interesting things that can happen in a game, as well as the simple fact that almost any game where Possession is played competitively will be miserable.
Yes! I have been waiting for possession! Happy you're back. EDIT: Just played my first game with it. What a terrible card indeed. Kept buying provinces with my enemy cards and had only 5 money myself. Enemy noticed it, started trashing all good cards. Game ended on coppers, estates and chapels.
There was recently a rules change to possession so that you can only get one extra turn out of it at a time so you can’t play five possessions and get five extra turns. I just found this out when I played like three possessions, and only got one extra return.
I've found that it is on other peoples banlist often enough that you can get away with just having it on your dislike list (assuming you have other cards you also want to ban). I've only had 1 possession game in the past 3 months.
There is one neat thing, and exactly only one neat thing about Possession: it can increase your *opponents* turn count, to actively monkey with end of game tie breaking. That's it. Everything else this card does is either unfun, or a rulings nightmare. Often times both. I want Alchemy to get a second edition so bad. Just so that Possession can be drummed out of the game forever.
To expand on a second edition idea, Alchemy exists as it does right now as a small set because Donald had to meet some obligations, and the deadlines for that meant that a large amount of the set is half baked with neat ideas imprisoned in rushed design, or costing too much money on top of the potion. Further, Alchemy was originally supposed to be a regular sized set, with weak potential to become a large set. If it's not drummed out, a radical errata needs to occur where, instead of playing an opponent's turn, their hand is instead given to you to play with during your turn, and their cards only affect your deck. Yes, you can trash their cards now (or trashing just puts it in their discard, either immediately or like how the card does now), but card draw will pull from your deck, discarding their cards puts them in their discard pile, etc; and they then draw a new hand during your clean-up at the same time that you draw your new hand. This way, stacking Possession is worthless without some effort to make your opponent draw more cards for you to transiently take.
I just played with this for the first time in a 3 player game and I already felt miserable so I laughed at that opening lol. It was especially bad since in a 3 player game, only me and 1 other player got Possession so I can't actually return the favour and possess that player back to balance out some of the damage they were doing to me
I really like that card. But only online! On a table that card is really annoying. The only thing I really dislike is what the official rules explain: If I possess another player and make him use another possesion card against a third player... I AM NOT ALLOWED TO DICTATE THE ACTIONS OF THE THIRD PLAYER. The player I possess makes the decisions for the third player. That doesn't make any sense! I really would like to force the third player to buy trash card so the second player gets those trash cards. Preferably forcing the third player to play many FESTIVAL and buying many many CURSES.
27:02 Yes, YES! The weak need to fear the strong >:) Jokes. But as I said. Online I really like to play with possession once in a while, even when people possess me it is interesting to see how badly they can f muy plans up.
So dont take this the wrong way. I have lots of mix feelings. The video is has a very hostiles and makes me feel a little unconfortable at times, but the video is kind of clear in why you feel this way and the level of hate you have for this card and why you think its poorly design (anything that encourages a stalemate or a "just play possession and win" is bad design). This is not to say the video is bad. Just its a mix bag for me, though honestly not sure if it can be another way. In away its honest. You hate the card and expressed it. and even though the video feels negative and hostile, the majority of it is directed at the card (only other is people that are troll on online clients). I still going through a number of your videos and I hope there some gem of videos you enjoy talking about more, and I hope current you (as i know you are stopping or slowing down the pace) is able to find joy in life (and yea banning this card is probably a good first step with it though i know i be baited in to playing a game with it to tsee the horror for myself). Peace and love.

Nice to see that you appreciate possession :)
The return of the king
Glad to see you back! I can see why covering possession is difficult.
You should've replaced the "random kingodm analysis" section with "video tutorial on how to put Possession on your ban list"!
Great to see you back, well done for persevering through Possession.

So far the only banned cards i listed are black market and possession.

Looking forward to more content

When I am the puppeteer, the puppet of my puppet should also be ruled by me.
