At around 28:00 when you discuss the possibility of an inadvertent gear up movement of the handle when on the ground, that could be an expensive repair and a write up on the pilot who did it. I think that happened not that long ago not sure if by a pilot or by a service AP technician. It would be nice if Boeing and Airbus disabled the gear handle altogether when not on a runway. These days it should be fairly easy with the ground sensors system for tracking the live position of the aircraft on the tarmacs. And yes, you've read my mind. Thanks
The thing about this is that the weight on wheels sensors should prevent it from happening, but sometimes the hydraulic force is just too powerful and it will overcome the sensors. Especially at the nose gear, that’s why the nose gear is the most susceptible one for collapse.

I'm sure you are familiar with the plastic lining of the cargo hold, the stringers are underneath those liners. Good Morning Stig Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year In Advance Never get tired to watch your video of adventure Big Appreciation for your hard working Man
Hey Stig merry Christmas . We work in an industry that’s 24/7 365, which leads us to miss holidays and significant life events of family and friends. I am blessed to currently have my first Christmas off in 7 years. It’s what we do, people need to get from point A to point B regardless of the date on the calendar and it’s our job to help facilitate that. So hoisting a pint of Guinness in your honor 🍻 and hope you can celebrate the season in an alternate manner.
23:20 That Neo is just a baby. Barely a month old. Someone sing her a lullaby!! Also, 36:15 I think I know what Stig wants for Christmas next year!! That is a nice car
21:36 What does the "Ditching" button do? It's right next to the landing elevation dial, so if I had to guess, maybe an instant equalization of the cabin and outside air pressure so all the doors can open easily and safely?
@StigAviation Oh that makes sense! And is completely opposite of what I was thinking 😂. Seal it up instead. Thanks Stig for the quality content and always taking the time to reply!
30:40 That’s interesting - in my old job as a ramp agent that wouldn’t be happening- nobody would have approached the aircraft if the beacon light was on. Didn’t happen often but if it did, we just stood outside the ERA and waited for as long as it took for the pilots to realise and switch it off 😅
Well if we did that we would’ve been waiting for a long time, because the pilots had long left the flight deck. 🤣 but don’t worry as soon as I see it, I run upstairs and turn it off
@StigAviation 🤣🤣 Wouldn't be able to leave the flight deck if there's no steps or jetbridge attached - unless they're really desperate 🤣🤣 This is in the UK BTW, ig it's just different approaches. Over here, beacon light on means NO approaching the aircraft by anyone, non-negotiable. Anyways, thank you very much for another great video 🤜
Have a Christmas holidays , santa claus is in this Chistmas flying with reindeer from Korvatunturi , when we lived in LA , santa claus flayed from North pole.
Another phenomenal show Sir Stig, wow that KLM 787-10 at 2min on take off looked stunning. I wish Boeing had backlit the 787 Dreamliner logo in the flightdeck, would look cool lit up.
Hey Stig! Another awesome show, thanks for sharing it. I have a friend who his dad works for the MAX project and he told me some great ideas and information about the plane. Happy and prosper new year for everybody!
Unfortunately I cannot get up close to that while it’s happening. Because the airplane is turning and in motion. But I do my best to explain how and why it works in my previous videos
Hello Stig i am also an aircraft mechanic for one of the biggest Europen airlines. I do handle your airplanes here too!!. Thank you for your videos and never give up mate
Hi Stig ,really enjoy your videos .I'm always interested to see the American 777 flight to Heathrow as I live on the Final approach path . I look up and think Stig has worked on that Aircraft.
Merry Christmas to you all. I find it interesting that the pilots manage to split the gate line, nose wheels on either side, as they come into the gate. The front gear is well behind them, and they really can't see the tires as they roll up to the gate. Just an observation that seemed curious to me.
There’s a nifty little trick they used to follow the line. They will look ahead and line up a certain portion of the flight deck as a taxi. That’s why they end up perfectly straight
Merry Christmas Stig, I hope your doing well my friend.. Another incredible video, Thank you for taking us back to cargo !!! WoW the Mercedes 300 SL is insane that car has gull wing doors and is in amazing condition. A Mercedes 300 SL in good condition fetches $1,350,000 but I would say that car has been restored and is in the high $2,000.000 to $4,000,000 range . Stig I hope you have a Happy New Year !! Thank You for all you do, I'll be thinking of you during this New Year !!! Later ......
@StigAviation Yes! I saw that clip on insta, came to TH-cam to show my wife. Crazy. BTW, I shot a story at L3 years ago where they made those black boxes (Sarasota Florida at the time)

Merry Christmas Stig x
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas as well!
The purple Porsche is a 935 from the 80’s, you can tell by the hidden headlights. The inter cooler is under the lower portion of the Whale tail.
Definitely a beautiful car
Hey Stig merry Christmas . We work in an industry that’s 24/7 365, which leads us to miss holidays and significant life events of family and friends. I am blessed to currently have my first Christmas off in 7 years. It’s what we do, people need to get from point A to point B regardless of the date on the calendar and it’s our job to help facilitate that. So hoisting a pint of Guinness in your honor 🍻 and hope you can celebrate the season in an alternate manner.
Thank you so much for that, and yes indeed I will enjoy my time off. Cheers to you, I hope you enjoyed the holidays.
23:20 That Neo is just a baby. Barely a month old. Someone sing her a lullaby!!
Also, 36:15 I think I know what Stig wants for Christmas next year!! That is a nice car
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching Fiona
Glad to be early to a stigshift video, gotta pump myself up before I start A&P school next week!
Good luck with school, let’s go!
21:36 What does the "Ditching" button do? It's right next to the landing elevation dial, so if I had to guess, maybe an instant equalization of the cabin and outside air pressure so all the doors can open easily and safely?
@@nicklarson2571 in case of a water landing. That switch can be pressed to close most external openings
@StigAviation Oh that makes sense! And is completely opposite of what I was thinking 😂. Seal it up instead. Thanks Stig for the quality content and always taking the time to reply!
Happy New Year! God bless you.
Thank you and the same to you!
Brand new neo, clean
Very clean 👌
30:40 That’s interesting - in my old job as a ramp agent that wouldn’t be happening- nobody would have approached the aircraft if the beacon light was on. Didn’t happen often but if it did, we just stood outside the ERA and waited for as long as it took for the pilots to realise and switch it off 😅
Well if we did that we would’ve been waiting for a long time, because the pilots had long left the flight deck. 🤣 but don’t worry as soon as I see it, I run upstairs and turn it off
@StigAviation 🤣🤣
Wouldn't be able to leave the flight deck if there's no steps or jetbridge attached - unless they're really desperate 🤣🤣
This is in the UK BTW, ig it's just different approaches. Over here, beacon light on means NO approaching the aircraft by anyone, non-negotiable.
Anyways, thank you very much for another great video 🤜
What's the clicking noise made by the engine fan when turning and not powered?
Those are called mid span shrouds, I made a dedicated video just on those. Check it out when you get a chance.
I hope you had a great holiday. Also wishing you a happy new year. Take care stig!
Thank you! Same to you!
GOOD DAY! GOOD DAY STIGG!
LETS GO!!!!
Let’s get this show on the road! 🤙
Have a Christmas holidays , santa claus is in this Chistmas flying with reindeer from Korvatunturi , when we lived in LA , santa claus flayed from North pole.
👍
Merry Christmas stig and thanks for a year of great videos
Wishing you a fantastic holiday season as well!
Another phenomenal show Sir Stig, wow that KLM 787-10 at 2min on take off looked stunning. I wish Boeing had backlit the 787 Dreamliner logo in the flightdeck, would look cool lit up.
That would’ve been a cool feature. But just remember if that back lighting went out, I’m the one who has to fix it 🤣
Hey Stig! Another awesome show, thanks for sharing it. I have a friend who his dad works for the MAX project and he told me some great ideas and information about the plane. Happy and prosper new year for everybody!
That’s awesome that you got cool information about the Max, and wishing you a happy and prosperous new year as well
Hi Stig thanks for another great video so informative keep em coming and you have Happy New Year!
Thank you Frank. Happy new year to you as well
Merry Christmas Stig! Been here since the last Christmas Special.
It’s been a heck of a year hasn’t it. Lots of fun. Thank you so much for being here from the beginning Ryan
Stig: You did a video a year ago on the 777 MG can help steer the plane. Any chance you can get video of that happening?
Unfortunately I cannot get up close to that while it’s happening. Because the airplane is turning and in motion. But I do my best to explain how and why it works in my previous videos
As I don’t know your email Stig I’m wishing you & yours a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. And again thank you for what you do. Jeff
@@njjeff201 thank you Jeff. Happy new year 🎆
Hello Stig i am also an aircraft mechanic for one of the biggest Europen airlines. I do handle your airplanes here too!!. Thank you for your videos and never give up mate
Thank you so much for your hard work and thank you for taking care of my airplanes when they are away from home. Cheers to you.
Streaming right to my tv max resolution ❤ 😎
I hope you enjoyed it
Hi Stig ,really enjoy your videos .I'm always interested to see the American 777 flight to Heathrow as I live on the Final approach path . I look up and think Stig has worked on that Aircraft.
Then you have seen many of my airplanes fly over you. And I’m sure most of them I have worked on.
Thanx Stig, Merry Christmas and NY
@@5555nickb Merry Christmas my friend.
23:19 upon a little further research, that aircraft entered service on 12/20/24. Brand new indeed!
Literally brand new, there’s actually a newer one than that. It’s 472. Look that one up.
@@StigAviation looks like it ferried to Charlotte for delivery on 12/19/24, hasn’t even entered revenue service yet. Now that’s BRAND NEW 😂
Happy New Year and God bless you sure do enjoy your videos I am a subscriber to your Channel😊
Thanks so much, I appreciate your support!
Stig's catchphrase - 'next office' 😁 great work 👍
Thank you 🤙
Merry Christmas to you all.
@@StigAviation Thanks for you all for keeping those aircraft running and safe.
Dear Stig merry Christmas to you and happy new year to you and your family all.
Wishing you and your family a fantastic holiday season as well!
I watch you videos every day keep up the hard work
Thank you very much, I appreciate you being here and enjoying the videos
Merry Christmas Stig, I hope your doing well my friend.. Another incredible video, Thank you for taking us back to cargo !!! WoW the Mercedes 300 SL is insane that car has gull wing doors and is in amazing condition. A Mercedes 300 SL in good condition fetches $1,350,000 but I would say that car has been restored and is in the high $2,000.000 to $4,000,000 range . Stig I hope you have a Happy New Year !! Thank You for all you do, I'll be thinking of you during this New Year !!! Later ......
Those were some very impressive cars for sure. Thank you so much for watching
At 25 minutes in. Can't stop thinking about your video before that Korean crash.
@@Getawaymoments what a coincidence that I made this video talking about the gear free fall extension before that happened
@StigAviation Yes! I saw that clip on insta, came to TH-cam to show my wife. Crazy. BTW, I shot a story at L3 years ago where they made those black boxes (Sarasota Florida at the time)
It’s a good day when Stig post 🔥
Thank you so much for watching
