You can make a regular cake, such as lemon, chocolate or vanilla, and it keeps well being frozen, for up to 6 weeks or more. In culinary school we would prepare and freeze all of our cakes, and they were really delicious! Thanks for sharing, it was very informative! 😊🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️🔥

You're most welcome Jane. Glad you did. There's no time frame really, some people soak in January against December, some others, closer. Just give it to enough time. The baking timeline appears too long for me but if that works for you, it's fine. I explained mine in the video which you can adopt if you're fine with it.

Air dry in a room with the air conditioner on. A good recipe shouldn't crack. The Cake should be room temperature or if you're comfortable with cold cakes, not too cold. Buttercream frosting is fine.

Happy to know, you're most welcome. Yes, it will. This depends on your recipe and how well baked the cake is. Left over cakes are best frozen. Tell them to do so cause you really don't have control over how they are stored after they leave your hands.

You are welcome. Dowelling is done to give structure to Cakes so it doesn't shift, tilt or collapse when stacked. You put in dowel rods in your cakes after layering to hold them all together.

If the couple insist, do you get to charge extra for the time spent waiting at the venue till it’s time to cut the cake? 2. What if the couple want the baker to slice up the cake for sharing?-I mean those on a tight budget who could not afford to make extra cut ups for their guests. Or if they want the baker to wait till the end of the event to unstack the cake and pack it up for them for easy transportation? Have you been in such situations? How did you manage them? TIA

You are welcome. Dowelling is done to give structure to Cakes so it doesn't shift, tilt or collapse when stacked. You put in dowel rods in your cakes after layering to hold them all together.

These tips are really helpful, thanks so much for sharing🙏🏽. Please I have some questions. 1. Is it compulsory for the baker to handle the cake cutting session and give a speech? If the couple insist, do you get to charge extra for the time spent waiting at the venue till it’s time to cut the cake? 2. What if the couple want the baker to slice up the cake for sharing?-I mean those on a tight budget who could not afford to make extra cut ups for their guests. Or if they want the baker to wait till the end of the event to unstack the cake and pack it up for them for easy transportation? Have you been in such situations? How did you manage them? TIA

Time is money. All these other things you mentioned can be included as service charges and you don't necessarily have to be the one to do them, you can assign duties to your staff or assistant. Yes, I have, I couldn't wait, I had to explain and take my leave.
