This has been a superb series for this newbie. I don't have much experience with PC games. My last console was an XBox. Thank you for taking the time to produce this content.
It's based on the weapon they use. If you equip your cavalry with a rifle that shows a Saber with it in the picture of the weapon, it will be Melee cavalry. If you equip them with a weapon that just shows the firearm in its picture they will turn into skirmish cav.
Army Org to 7 then Medicine to 10 is a must have for any playthrough first , Medicine gives you your vet back and his weapon which is better than Politics or Economy and Recon and Logistics are pointless and useless imo.
Somebody likes his American Civil War :=D Playing Birth of America 2 AGEOD and it is pretty good. AI is.... not bad, a challenge - in EVERY scenario. Superb game. Old, clunky, crash-y (save often, after every move really) but heck, it is GREAT fun.
Good to hear! Yes, I absolutely need to get on the BoA2 train. Figured I'd roll these tutorials out now, since it's been on my to-do list for some time. Then, get on to BoA! I've been a major Civil War buff since I was in third grade. I never get tired of talking about it, reading about it, visiting sites, or playing the games! =D Thanks for the comment!
@@AoEBros "I've been a major Civil War buff since I was in third grade. " You and every other American history buff I have ever met. Some of these guys literally, errr, have an orgasmic reaction if the words "Robert E Lee" are uttered ;=D BTW, the best general of Civil War was of course Winfield Scott. Why? He predicted the course of the entire war, and, being an American wanted to prevent loss of life - on both sides. His comment was "these untrained boys have no idea, it will be a massacre!. He developed 'Plan Anaconda' to strangle the South, and his strategy would result in a sure victory and Union armies on the defensive in most places, and the rebels would impale themselves on Union defenses (some places would HAVE to be captured, i.e. Missisippi forts. Too bad "yellow jingo" press called the shots instead of professional STAFF generals (not all generals are fighting generals, staff guys are more important). Of course, the best general to me was (you guessed it) von Paulus. He predicted how it would go in North Africa for that idiot Rommel, and how it would go for Germany and its allies in Barbarossa. He predicted EXACTLY because he calculated supplies, supply and useage, and drew conclusions. That he was placed in command of a fighting formation, a staff specialist, was stupidity that lost them the war. PS Heck..... I guess being naturalized I became a CW buff too. I, errr, have a reaction when "Winfield Scott" and "Ulysses Grant" are mentioned - lee leaves me cold.
Wasn't Grant considered lax in his recon? Did he not get caught napping in his HQ several miles from the battle? His correspondence of April 5 shows he had no idea about the impending attack.

Lol, two months into playing this game and had no idea you could spend the reputation points. I'm gonna go on a spending spree tonight!
Love this game! I hope they will release mod tools! I would love to have another branching career with different battles to fight!
Appreciate these videos. Thank you
For sure!
Helpful site for career point progression: ugcw.fandom.com/wiki/Career_Points.
Also forgot to mention: Reputation hits 0, you get fired!
I can’t seem to recruit the two cavalry?
