- FOX 13 News Meteorologist Valerie Mills says a strong dip in the jet stream keeps hurricanes away from Florida. Tropical Storm Leslie is moving away from the continental U.S. and a newly developed wave in the eastern Atlantic has a medium chance of formation, according to Mills.

This young lady is already a seasoned veteran in meteorology. I have a feeling she puts in a lot of effort to give us an accurate forecast.
Plain Jane's always try harder, ask one.
My birthday is the peak of hurricane season. I was born during Dora in 1964. For my 40th birthday/season we had Charley Gene Francis and Ivan. My sister in law and her two dogs moved in with my wife and I for a year as her placed was wiped out by Charley. Thought my 60th birthday/season was going to be mild. I was wrong. Helene did a lot of damage at our family farm in south Georgia. I just finished up piling up the debris at my home from Milton. Going to my farm next week to assist in cleaning up. I am blessed compared to what many thousands of others are enduring at this time. Unfortunately if you want to live in Florida you better learn how to prepare for a hurricane!
The state of Florida should be a national park.
Hi Valerie, let me give you a list of the 7 huricane names I have been through here in Florida, cat 4 hurricane Andrew 1992, T.S Irene 1999 (dropped about 19" of rain in 12 hours) , cat 3 hurricane Charly 2004, cat 2 hurricane Francis 2004, cat 3 hurricane Gene 2004 (All of them hitting North Broward and West Palm Beach counties, as I was living in those areas, all of them impacting south Florida within the same year). I then moved to Miami-Dade county to avoid so many hurricanes, and then this happened to me, as a was living in the Miami Lakes area, cat 3 hurricane katrina 2005, cat 3 hurricane Wilma 2005,( this latest one made landfall on October 24th, late in the huriicane season, which I remember davastated our city of Miami). My prayers are with all of those affected by hurricane Milton at this time in the Tampa-Sarasota area, rgs
November needs to come already
Right into election month which will be a dumpster fire and chaotic
You have done an awesome job young lady.
Kepping an eye 👁️ out
She's the only female meterologist I can listen to.
Can anyone answer a question. With all this hype of going electric vehicles by 2030 or 2035 how does the hurricane's and floods in Carolina and Florida make any sense. The power lines are all down and there is no electricity to power your electric vehicle. So now you are all stuck at home with no power and no way to get around. If the power goes out prior to everyone evacuating how do you leave your city without a vehicle. Am I missing something here. No one seems to want to talk about this on main stream media as its just not part of any conversation or concern. Lets just go green and don't worry about any catastrophic events that will leave you stranded.
That's why many electric vehicles are not selling. Government agencies do not have to use common sense, unlike the average car buyer.
I live near Phoenix. We’ve had 4.86 inches of rain so far this year. There’s not even clouds here. Just heat. We could use some rain.
Oh just lovely what we really need is more rain
She’s done a fabulous job. Thank you!
Lost my Hurricane virginity with Andrew, and have gone through every one since that has threatened or hit South Florida, with a 5 year bout up in Orlando, and the Space Coast. Growing up in New England, and dealing with that weather until moving to FL in 88 is worse. You can have the 4 seasons, and the crap that goes with it.
Is it only me, or does Valerie have a combo, Jan and Marcia Brady look to her?
Not a knock at all, this is the first time seeing her reporting, and she is very poised, and trustworthy at first take.

If anyone came up with that kind of technology, it would be well published and they would've gotten a nobel prize. Conspiracy theories are reetarrrdded
Staying in the Atlantic…Thank you!!!!
I heard that every year there is a 0.02% chance of this happening
Largest storm hit Florida including on indirect BIRTHDAY. Reaction to storm is Death is my BAD NEIGHBOR.

Where is Tony that used to do the weather? I miss him😢
His contract is up, and he's moved on to bigger and better things in the world of weather.
@@leftylou6070 yeah! I just saw he’s doing weather for NY now..
Why is she downplaying Invest 94L? That thing looks like it will make landfall on the US. It will probably be a Cat 1-2 at least. We'll know more in a few days, but people should stock up on supplies now, unless you enjoy driving with no gas or no gas for your generators or not having water/food. Season isn't over until End of November.
What is that swirl down at the Yucatán ?
Right?! No mention of it. Yet other stations talk of it.
@@coryhyatt2035 who? The stopped clocks like Mike's Weather Page
3 minutes is where the info is.....sheesh
Give it a rest , man keep this to yourselves for awhile
It’s staying out at ocean
Didn't Milton form from a tropical wave in the western Caribbean, which we were told was nothing to worry about? At most, it was only going to be a rainmaker for Florida. Now, a tropical wave is forming off the coast of Africa that's headed our way, and it is nothing to worry about. Got it.
Stay prepared always
We are fighting for our lives with the weather in Florida.
Reminds me of 20 years ago... 🤨
Nothing new.
It's been this way for 68 years that I know of.
No we’re not lol. You’re not from Florida. Stop trying to be a victim of nothing.
@@debbielwilliamson8546, Florida went 10 years without a major hurricane during that period. Your comment is nonsensical and ignorant. Have you even been to Florida?
Fighting for our lives? I'm sitting in my backyard, enjoying the occasional light breeze and listening to birds sing.
Damn, Biden hit the hurricane activation button again. Let's see where he draws the Sharpie line impact point.
2/3s of this is a review of the recent hurricanes. We know all of this, focus on something new.

"looking at house purchases and beliefs about climate change, optimistic Republicans are more likely to buy houses exposed to sea-level rise, with pessimistic Democrats selling those houses. Increased polarization leads to increased volume, as Republicans and Democrats trade with each other in response to differing interpretations of world events."
Unfortunately the channel does not allow me to link the quote to its reference.
Who is attacking central Florida’s ? I don’t believe in coincidences; praying for Florida ❤
Wrong . In 04 Francis wilma jeane . All hit 1 town not counting Charlie n Katrina you should do more research
She was in Colorado.
Charley, Francis and Jeanne all hit Florida, Ivan made landfall just in Alabama, very close to the Florida border
I love tuning in to see what Valerie is wearing...

I'm looking to buy a house in Sarasota, The name Sarasota is just too sexy for me.
