Hey! Put your hand near your head, click the grab button, and take it off. It's like a virtual VR headset, and when you take it off it puts you in passthrough.
Hello Fabio! I have a question. I am a designer and am considering purchasing a VR headset to explore Gravity Sketch and adapt it to my workflow. I see you also own a Meta Quest 2 and was wondering which of the two (Meat Quest 2 or Pico 4) you enjoy working with gravity sketch the most. As far as I know, these are the most affordable standalone VR headsets on the market today. Thanks!
The Pico 4 is definitely better than the Quest 2 for AR. The Quest 2 passthrough is quite crappy. I don't recommend VR/AR for 3D modeling, though, except if you're working in the sculpting field. No controllers/UI will replace the flexibility and speed of a keyboard with hundreds of keys + combinations and the precision of a mouse/tablet.
How does pico 4 passthrough compare to Quest 3 pass through for gravity sketch then? Thanks! And how did you enable this passthrough mode, is it simple on pico 4?
Recorded on version 5.1. Haven't used it in almost 2 years now... =P But what's not working? Are you having issues with accessing the passthrough view in the app? If yes, bring your hands near your head, press grab, and take off a virtual VR headset... it will put in passthrough.
Hello Fabio, seems like you are using a Meta Quest 2 as well as Pico 4. Can I ask about the stability of the Pico 4's controllers according to Meta Quest 2? Do you have the same stability with both VR headsets?
Hey! Yeah, both headsets have very similar tracking. The occasional occlusion issues I ran into when using the Q2 also happen occasionally with the P4, but given the shape of the tracking rings these issues happen in different scenarios for each headset. I wouldn't say it's better or worse. They're very similar.
Hi Fabio. I'm very impressed by your work. Keep it up man! I have a question you might be able to help me with. I have a Pico 4 which I really enjoy, but the Virtual Desktop experience with my 2019 iMac 27" 5k w/ Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB is not great. Can you recommend any Radeon (needs to be compatible with Intel Mac) card that I could use as an EGPU to make my experience more pleasant? Thanks in advance!
Hey! Thanks! I don't know much about Macs and AMD GPUs. But anyway, I think that handling just VD shouldn't be an issue, as it runs even on computers below the Pico/Meta minimum specifications. Any chance your wifi is the issue?
@@skol_sem_som Thanks for the quick reply. I think that might be the case as not only is the quality not so great, it's also inconsistent. I just ordered an adapter that will let me connect my Pico to the router via ethernet. I hope it makes a difference!
@@adamkwiatek318 Usually the best thing to do is to make sure your computer is connected to the router via ethernet cable (CAT5e or above), then keep only your headset on the 5Ghz wifi network. For that you'll have to connect every other device on the 2.4Ghz network, if possible, or get a dedicated router just for VD.
@@skol_sem_som That is exactly what I did today and I noticed improvements :) However, when I'm watching a high-quality video (1080p and up) on TH-cam, the cursor has a significant delay when I hover over the video. Also, shows/movies streamed via VLC player are very laggy.
Hi! There is a native version of gravity sketch for Pico 4? can you play it normally like in the quest 2? Did you play stand alone? I couldnt find answers.
just this one single video made me more excited for the future of XR
Great. First impression of the color passtrough with some additional object on the Pico 4 🙂
Oh yes, noodle man is very real. So real in fact, he may be the first npc everyone encounters. Probably an SCP even.
Hi! how to open looking outside and gravity sketch

It doesn't work for me on pico 4. Firmware version 5.4. What is your firmware version?
