The interoperability of the different platforms is really the greatest issue for VR at the moment. This needs to be an easy experiance for everybody, not just something for a few nerds.
Depends on community size, depends on how tough the job is (both are android, but they are not running the same software - I can see dangerous "install quest OS onto pico" tutorials appearing in the far future but that's it) - I wouldn't expect much. Running your games from your PC is where it's going to be at

Some people are even trying to implement a "translation-layer", so that Pico understands the code that is running on the Quest natively. I've seen one Beat Saber screenshot on the Pico, but only in 2D mode inside the window. So, there is hope :)

@@ExtremCoxer I own a Quest 2 and I have bought ZERO games on META Store.. even Star Wars series is more of a VR demo than a game. Everything else is available on Steam for way cheaper with hundreds of "steam exslucives" not available on Quest... I did not try Resident Evil yet but that's the only game I know exclusive on Quest.. the rest is just total garbage or 'VR demos" like the Jurassic World.

Apart from those 2 mentioned titles I also prefer PC quality. The point is, while the video title is technically not completely wrong, it suggests that it's about playing Oculus Standalone games on the Pico. You should include "PC games" into the title to not be missleading.

Hi i need help, when I'm in virtual desktop and try to launch oculus game it tells me i need to connect oculus device and will not let me play anything, virtual desktop isn't emulating rift for some reason, and also now when I'm in virtual desktop and try to launch steamvr it crashes because the quest app interferes with steamvr and Virtual desktop, so steamvr doesn't work unless I uninstall oculus any help?
I have installed store when I had Quest 2. So it's possible you need to activate it the first time. Though it did work with Pico 4 after with no extra work with virtual desktop. There should be some workarounds too as virtual desktop is designed to work Vive and many other non Oculus headsets. Check SteamVR settings. There are different VR runtimes for Quest, OpenXR and etc. So you probably need to switch to a correct runtime.
It's has been a few months, Meta might have done an update or you need different version of Revive. In general, NEVER BUY games on Meta store if you don't want have a huge pile of issues. And that does just begin with running the game after it runs there still will be issues with colors, settings and etc. So just don't buy any PC games from Oculus.

You can change saturation in settings. There is even difference between stock streaming assistant and virtual desktop. So it's just as simple as changing the settings.

You are playing Oculus Rift games from PC, not standalone Quest 2 games
The same games, just running on the PC. Even better graphics and performance on PC most of the time.

When you run games through Virtual Desktop, it emulates Quest.
