    As a plumber here in the states. It's interesting to see how our brothers are getting it done across the pond.

      Is it legal here in the states??

    Tried explaining pipe bending to a trainee so many times and the information just want getting across, it just wasn't sinking in. I showed him your video and saw a little glint in his eye, the penny started to drop. I told him to watch the 3 pipe bending vids you made from start to finish 3 times each then gave him the Benders and three lengths of 15mm and 3 lengths of 22mm. A full day of making my own tea, packing up and loading the van myself and got no copper left on the van but now I've got a lad that can bend pipe! A day well spent for both of us. Cheers PB

    In UK Passover bend... in USA... saddle bend. Pete awesome stuff, rarely do plumbers here in the states bend copper. I learned pipe bending in electrician school. Comes in handy for my HVAC business. Cheers from USA.

    Absolutely awesome!. I've always wanted to learn how to do this. The best 6:45 I've spent on youtube to date and you've saved me the time and hassle to go and get a "Flexible Copper Plumbing Stick". Now I can now do an infinitely better job.....unless I screw it up of course. Thanks for sharing.

    Lovely video.... better and so much easier to understand that at colleges/training centres etc..
    When I was at training centre my tutor told me to follow the level 2 book etc, take into account pipe gains from bending and consider not to waste pipe but trimming the end off....
    These vids from you pb so easy to follow and I bet other plumbers use these to find an easier way .. cheers

    Very nice, I'm impressed. But I haven't used a bender in the last 10 years of my work, either use preformed crossovers, or a selection of 45 degree elbows to do the job, esp. on unequal crossovers. And more & more buildings use plastic pipes these days, and no fire certificate needed.

    • @mph1140
      @mph1140 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Douglas Cubitt hey man. Not sure if this will help you at all, but I found that on some benders the guides are painted and can be quite rough preventing the pipe from moving freely when bending. What I did with mine was to use a sanding sponge to remove the paint and get down to the smooth metal. My 22mm bends were rippling before I did this, they're perfect now. Alternatively you can spray a bit of wd40 or silicone spray on the guides prior to your bend. Good luck man👍🏻

    So the edge of your bender die is not on the center of the pipe, but on the edge? I'm pretty sure mine is on the center, so I have to subtract the radius.

    What do you think of MLCP pipe, press fit or speed fit pipe? I think coper looks good on show if soldered neatly or press fitted. Plastic pipe would be ok under floor. Don't know what everyone else would think?
