I agree, but it's more so to do with when they drop rather than them being downplayed. Pickles drops right before TF who is an very powerful crit support and healer and Shamane drops uncomfortably close to 6, who's able to do what Shamane does to an extent and also way more.

6 is really the only concern. 1.6 is more than 2 patches away plus it gives a decent amount of free pulls. You will get her if you don't go for anything after 6.
The next question for many would be whether to pull Shamane if already have p5 Bkorn lol. We don't have a Bkorn-counterpart for offensive mental debuffing atm, so that's probably one of Shamane's selling point.
I personally feel if i only use him for the mental def aspect, its not enough. Bkorn provides seal as a utility hence i honestly don't think using her in mental teams is going to be extremely detrimental over Shamane
since my gamba luck not failing and i got every limited char till now as f2p till now , so I keep following Silver Wolfs guide and keep rolling in every banner without thinking as a proud gacha addict
Seems to me Piclkes is straight up better. So save for his rerun. Versatility ( mental and reality shred ) isn't great when most of the time you'll be running either one or the other. I think it's better to have specialized teams. Damage ceiling is higher in a specialized team.
I made some pulls on his banner on got him with one or 2 pulls I already have a team with black dwarf, ballon party and sonneto but im thinking on switching sonneto with him for subdps support. I also happen to have bkorne, sotheby and regulus, i dont really know witch character to level for limbo team 2 and events.
i lost my 50/50 on tooh fairy banner :( i have guaranteed now. i've been thinking of getting this character ever since then since i only have bkorn as my debuffer(i have pickles and an an lee for buffer tho). moreover i have already leveled up his light cone from the event. now that i've know of 6's existence, which one should i pull? :(
If you are trying to go for the meta, 6 is the better option. After that, you’ll have all the supports you need, at least for the current meta. If you are missing a dps/healer role, you’d gain much more value going for those units. Like for example, if you are missing a good single target dps, going for Melania’s rerun could be worth it (when it happens).

If you don’t know already, there is a meta character like that coming out next patch, called 6. Most FTP meta players are going to be skipping many banners for him and Jiu.

Getian's array alone provides +40% Reality dmg buff for 3 rounds (provided his array is not overriden by the enemy). So if you have to choose between Shamane and Getian simply based on this point, then Getian might sound better. However, because Getian's kit actually stacks with Shamane's debuff, and that Getian benefits from having Shamane in the team to cast his array early, you can actually run both.
Shamane is a very strong unit but released at an awkward time for f2ps and low spenders

He is pretty cool. I can get SSS with P0 Shamane as main carry at Exhibition map.
But imho he is skippable, it's better to save and aim for 6 instead.
Will try to pull for him with whatever gems I have. Would team him up with Pickles and Ann Lee. Tooth Fairy in the backline for healing I suppose.

yes he good debuffer, but if by chance i can have a package full of debuff and buff in 1 character i obviously would choose that 1 instead.

I would not recommend 37 over 6 if u can only get 1 of these tbh. 6 will help u in all content and 37 outside of sea serpent is underwhelming.

It is not an optimal pairing but honestly u don't want to use mp debuffs that often regardless so it should be fine
