    Aaron a family member has a GMC 454 vandura, like this one u have.. It's sat for a long time. The lady's husban bought it for $800, ran it home. And it sat.. I'm trying to restore it.. Motor needs worked on or the plastic tubes just need done.. Blue and red. Maybe that's what the husband was doing. He past away from C-death and things.. He was a mechanic and used to work at GM.. I have pics I can send u.. Needs restored inside more.. I'll paint the front of it and things..

    Eventually will be getting and restoring an old rig, love the grunginess of it, but with slightly modern upgrades, motor for one!

    Best thing about having a Class-C motorhome is that if the structure ever gets damaged or rotten you can strip the structure completely off the cutaway cab/chassis and install a flatbed on the chassis. I currently have a 1998 Ford E450 that was a Fleetwood Tioga 29Z motorhome. I dismantled the entire structure and resold everything that was salvageable. I am installing a 72" double bunk sleeper cab and a 16' flatbed on that chassis.

      +JeepCollector91 ya that's what I like about it, and it was cheap enough, if the 350 in my truck ever dies I'll just swap the 400 SBC from the vandura to my Sierra.

    hey does the aftermarket radio that you have reset itself every time you turn the key off

    • @AaronsAutomotive
      @AaronsAutomotive  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +spencer15898 no actually it doesn't, if yours does it means that the unit isn't wired correctly, on most head units/radios they have 2 power wires, a red and a pink(sometimes a red and a yellow) 1 is to go towards a switched ignition power source (usually the pink or yellow wire is the key on ignition power source) and the red wire is supposed to be a constant 12 volt to the battery or constants power at the fuse panel. That's the memory wire, that one controls all the saved settings, EQ, clock time, etc etc, sounds like the 2 power wires are wired backwards.

    • @spencer15898

      +Aarons Automotive mine actually has the red wire and yellow wire put together and it was so the radio would work but idk where the accessory (red wire goes to

      +spencer15898 what's the model is stereo unit? And I can snag a wiring diagram for it, but ya one wire goes to constant 12volts and one goes to a switched 12 volts, sounds like those 2 are backwards on yours.

      +Aarons Automotive Sony xplod 52wx4 and I have a 90 lumina apv van if I didnt tell you already

    • @AaronsAutomotive
      @AaronsAutomotive  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +spencer15898 ok, found the wiring diagram, the yellow power wire is suppose to go to the battery or a constant always on 12 volt source with a 10 amp inline fuses as that one is the memory wire that keeps the clock, presets, and EQs stored. The red wire is suppose to go to a key on only power source with a 15 amp inline fuse and is the main power source to the unit to turn on with the ignition.
      Here's a link to the diagram I found for it
