    THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. My 01 5.4 is doing this only with a P0300 and lean bank 1 code. Only misfires when cold and first start up after setting. Has started blowing white smoke first thing in the morning. The radiator combustion gas test was negative and pressure rest seems constant. No leaks on ground or on top of intake.
    I have spent the last 4 months trying to find the issue.

    Hi was curious if you might know the cause of an issue mine has. It is on a 2010 F150 4.6 3v engine. When going down the highway at 65-80mph the engine light will come on flashing and run like its on 4 cylinders. I pull over shut engine off and restart and light goes out and runs fine again. Might not happen for another week or month. One time I got the light to stay on so I could check it for free at auto zone it came up as P0308 Cylinder #8 Misfire. I then changed all the spark plugs and the number 8 coil. But it did not fix the issue. Was thinking it could be a injector but have not done anything with it since. Any information would be greatly appreciated. It has 157k miles on it. Its been doing this for a few years now.

    So I have this same exact issue on my 2017 Lincoln mkz 2.0 eco boost. Antifreeze disappearing and always mis-fire in second cylinder. How do I fix it? Do I have to replace the whole engine?

    Hi Ron, GREAT Videos, I love your channel. I am dealing with this same issue, 2003 F150 4.6. I have tested the coolant and I do have exhaust in the antifreeze. I hate to think of a head gasket but what was the fix for this truck New headgasket?

    I have one for you, Ron. 2011 E250 5.4L with an intermittent miss fire (P0308) once in a while my van will act up at a cold start. It will run fine for a while and then the CEL (P0308) will start flashing it will go away and the vehicle will run fine. I've moved the injector, spark plug, and coil to piston #7 and still having the same issue!

    Ron, thank you for sharing some of your knowledge.
    In a repair situation such as this what are your thoughts on head machining?

      Resurfacing cylinder head is a must. Although if you read fords manual it says they are not resurfacable. But yet they put minimum surfacing limit marks in the castings.
      The answer is I always machine the cylinder heads to get them straight

      Yes, same type of gasket. You just have to troubleshoot it

    Hey Ron, big fan of ur videos.I have a 2012 jaguar XJl 5.0 supercharger and I have a misfire on cylinder 8 my codes are p0308 and p0316 . I pull the plug and its wet with coolant and gas on it . The car doesn’t run hot and the oil is normal . Just a lot of white smoke coming from tail pipe do u know what it can be maybe head gasket?

    Hey Ron! I have a 2004 Expedition with the 5.4 and I am getting a strong fuel smell in the coolant reservoir. would that be a cracked cylinder head? or could it also be a blown head gasket?

      No more than 17 LBS. Never exceed this number:
