Hello, it seems that the option of adding a gallery to a page block is no longer possible. I tried the steps in the last part of the video and in the dropdown menu, "Gallery" is no longer there under "Image". Is there a solution for this?
Hey! This feature really depends on what site builder you are using, 7.0 or 7.1. The galleries feature comes and goes with different versions, unfortunately
I'm using 7.1 and it looks like its gone? Squarespace has been an increasingly frustrating experience I was grandfathered into at my new job. I feel like I'm counting down the days until we can begin the process of hiring a larger marketing firm to build a site from scratch.

I am joining today to catch up with this. Why they drop features in new versions (same for the text over slideshow that was so easy in 7.0!) I can't comprehend. Going backwards....wierd. PS - Just discovered David videos also and so very glad.

I'm on the newest version, why are galleries gone? I'm not trying to join "Circle" and create 3 sites when I don't even have one yet haha. Can you cover how to search a gallery? My gallery has become too big to make it user-friendly, but a search bar or filter to go to an image based on my descriptions would be helpful.

I am trying to build my site using 7.1. The add a gallery to page is NOT an option. I see post saying you have to belong to Squarespace Circles, whatever that is, with the requirement to have 3 sites with Squarespace. I am beginning to think I have made a mistake trying to convert to Squarespace.
Bummer! Not sure why they haven't been added back for you yet! May be find a developer who you can work with as a circle member, they may be able to get you what you need! :) D
Thanks for the explanations! Anyone has an idea how to adjust the gallery to click an image to enlarge and navigate with arrow keys? My galleries are unclickable, just scroll. Couldn't find a way to make them clickable, there should be a settings somewhere I didn't manage to find
If I created a gallery with 21 photos by using the lightbox option I presume the photo would open on a new page...…how would I add text to the lightbox image describing how to purchase the image. (I don't want a commerce site) Thanks in anticipation
Hi! Hmmm, not 100% sure I understand the use case; but I'd just probably use a portfolio and design the pages to feel like commerce but they are just portfolio items that show how to purchase the image. Hope that helps! :)
Throwing my 2 cents in... I can only apply Gallery Masonry when it's *not* part of a Blog page - which only allows me to add a section/Gallery, and then it's only grid/stacked/carousel etc. Maybe it's 7.0/7.1 issues or because I'm in trial mode.
Hi David, I am a photographer and have created my first website using sqspace. I am using a portfolio with gallery pages, each gallery highlighting a specific grouping of images. I cannot seem to find a way to have the images fill the screen on mobile devices when they are opened. The home page does, but not the images in the gallery. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks! hey, this video is very helpful, even IF Squarespace have decided for whatever ubsurd reason to not have gallery on a page in a section as an option for 7.1. That's a real WTF moment for me. I saw comments here mentioning you get it as an option if you are a SS Circle member with 3+ sites. So I wonder what would happen if you set up 3 sites, but then cancelled two once you get your gallery on a page set up. Seems like a bit of time and possibly money to deal with. But might be a work-around? Frustrating nonetheless. Thanks for the video though. Still very helpful.

Yeah, I'm not sure why - you can possibly try and work with a designer who is a circle member, have them add it for you and that might be easier!
I'm a circle member and none of my websites are currently active anymore, so I think it would work
