Best 4wd vids, so relaxing to watch!! I've seen some of your vids two or three time of the same one now, they just make you want to get out there and do it!!bloody inspiring stuff...
Alright, a reason to turn the 55" TV on, thanks Ronny :) EDIT: Awesome Tip with the scrambled eegs, i'd never have thought of that, even though its so obvious. In fact, you could make a litre, then pour out what you need. Very clever, thank you :)
As always, great video. The campsite on day three was very cool looking. Never seen a cook pan like that either that had the cover you could put on the bottom for eating right out of the pan.
Your videos are Awesome and Love your Land Cruisers! It definitely beats my Toyota Prius! Ha. Nah, my 4x4 is Chevy Silverado and a 2017 RZR 1000 XP! Coming at you from Washington State, USA.
1) You must be proud to sleep in your very own Jan Utzen designed swag tent :-) 2) I know the name of the station you were on - "Møllehøi Station" LOL 3) I didn't know you could speak Afrikaans - well done. 4) I use a Primus Omnifuel stove as well as a Primus EasyLite Lantern. Thank you good Sir for another exciting adventure video. God Jul.
Just awesome Ronny mate. Really great editing and footage. I know how much work goes into these shows mate, i make my own but on a much smaller and cheaper budget bro. Those purple wild flowers, looked to me like Paterson's Curse aka Echium plantagineum. I know you have issues with this weed in WA as do we in the high country Victoria. They contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids that cause liver damage in cattle and can kill small stock horses and calves if grazed upon for weeks at a time. They look nice enough but my god they can create real headache and huge loses/costs to the cockies. Goes to show you, Mother Nature..... she is in charge bro. Cheers Moose in Vic.
Hey Ronny absolutely stunning video, just wanted to get your thoughts on two different UHF aerials o whether to get fiberglass or one of the ones that whip around a bit more? Cheers Mate, Keep up the great work
Ronny, with the amount of Camping you do Have you ever considered an Oz Tent over a Swag? In my eyes, some of the newer swags are half a tent anyway. For a longer trip, say 1 month, would you choose a different sleeping option?
Hello Ronny, salutations from Portugal. That's some thick bush you passed at 6:55. Do you do something do to protect your 79 from scratches? You don't care? Or only hurts the first ones? 😂 Great videos and thanks for sharing.
Hi from South Africa! Great videos, really love it. Question; @16:14 Wayne was cooking on a yellow stove. What is the name of that stove and also price (approximately is fine) Thank you.
Great video series Ronny. I noticed the FJ was running the same Cooper tires I am looking to put on my 4x4 1 ton pickup. What amount of wear do you get with these before the tire needs replacing as I am gonna be going on and offroad with it?
i had the SST pro but changed them back the to ST. The STT pro where really good off road and in the mud, they where ok on sand and ok on the road. STT will wear a lot quicker and the rubber is softer and designed to be off road use mainly, the fuel usage also goes up wit the STT as they are more aggressive and also loader on the road. I changed them back to the ST as they are more of and all terrain tyre, notice it was a lot smoother on the road and quieter. also a massive improvement on fuel economy, the cooper ST are far better on road, sand and gravel. but are very average in mud. I am using my FJ for touring so and all terrain was the responsible decision. but if your looking for an aggressive appearance then STT pro all the way. Hope this helps with your decision
Andrew Phan ty for the reply. I am looking for something with aggressive appearance as this truck will be seeing lots of offroad use for hunting, fishing, and camping trips into the wilderness. Also need luggy tires for when this truck has to plow snow in the winter time, and see not so ideal winter roads.
Rezblade don't know what Ronny has but I have a yuneec typhoon drone which has a follow me/watch me mode and it will follow you wherever you go. The dji phantom and mavic has the same thing. All you have to do is take off and land it.
+Leon Semark no im not, I can't afford the kit and I don't see why and when I'd really need it when I have lockers front and rear plus a winch and a good crew that joins me on most trips. There are other areas of the vehicle that need attention e.g. The rear tray boxes and shelter. I will be changing the axel very soon however.
JUKEBOXX1990 bit more of an overlanding trip than a bush bashing one. I find those ones are more about how squared away your kit is than big your lift is.
+JUKEBOXX1990 100% agree which is why we operate tag along yours out there. We take many stock vehicles out there. Although that part when we got lost it was proper 4x4 stuff and stock wouldn't cut it.
do u guys miss steve erwin? what was his vehicle in the bush, looked like a old toyota somthin? he was on wildlife channel everyday here in the State's.
+Ronny Dahl (4 Wheeling in W.A.) ya man erwin and chad reed from supercross are probably the 2 most beloved Aussie's here in the U.S, But this guy Ronny Dahl is making his way on the list with these awsome wheelin vids:) 1 more question is fosters reallys Australian beer, them sumbitches sell to us over here as if its really Australian beer.lol
Hey Elis, I am the owner of the FJ on this video and for this specific trip i was averaging 18L/100km without all the gear i would average 16l/100km ( this is real world testing and not just figures from a brochure. I have since change the configuration of the car by changing tyres and also increasing tyre pressure on the road and also removed the roof top top of and XTM slim line and my fuel has improved while over landing. Hope this information has helped you
Andrew Phan what did you do for LED headlights? All replacements I'm finding aren't approved and they all have halos. And I'm not sure about putting an LED bulb in a traditional housingZ
Thanks! Yeah they help heaps, those two are modified by arctic trucks, the same guys who made the top gear polar expedition vehicles. 37" tires on both of them. It really really helps on the snow, specially when we air down to like 3 - 4 PSI. And if thats not low enough we just air down until there is no more air coming out of the tyre hehe.
Thanks, Ronny. Nice to see flowers and not just only dry dry red rock and dirt.
YES, the man said the words Bakkie!!!! your really are a legend Ronny

Hey Ronny absolutely stunning video, just wanted to get your thoughts on two different UHF aerials o whether to get fiberglass or one of the ones that whip around a bit more? Cheers Mate, Keep up the great work
Yeeeeah Bakkie power!! :)))
The boulders at the end of the video got dropped there by glaciers when they covered the area
Nice secret spot...
Go the Bakkie.
Who is operating the Drone while you are driving? Great videos.
It's a DJI Phantom, it has a 'follow me' mode. It follows the receiver.
Ronny, with the amount of Camping you do
Have you ever considered an Oz Tent over a Swag?
In my eyes, some of the newer swags are half a tent anyway.
For a longer trip, say 1 month, would you choose a different sleeping option?
+Hugh Jazz I have the oztent RV5 which we use on family trips but on my own I prefer the swag
Great video and great photos.
Ronny, why don't you use the roof top tent?
+Michał G. I like the ground and I don't like wind resistance, BUT should someone lend me one I'd give it a go for sure
Nice Video Ronny have you thought about having duel snorkels on your truck
+Liam McLean don't see much point as there wouldn't be any benefit to it.
Hello Ronny, salutations from Portugal. That's some thick bush you passed at 6:55. Do you do something do to protect your 79 from scratches? You don't care? Or only hurts the first ones? 😂
Great videos and thanks for sharing.
+Sérgio Barbosa you get over it after a few trips, part of adventure aka vehicle character building 😉
great vid. one question: who operates the drone while you're driving point?
super nice trip video ... but why are the Jeep not there with u?
cuz they plan on going back home!
Hi from South Africa! Great videos, really love it. Question; @16:14 Wayne was cooking on a yellow stove. What is the name of that stove and also price (approximately is fine) Thank you.
I think they are around the $75-100 mark and that was a 'Gasmate'
Thank you and happy festive season!
Ronny mate whats your little stove called with the pan and orange holder

What video equipment do you use? Greetings from Colombia 🚙👍
+mickmutante a lot! Too much really will have to do a video on that just need an extra guy to film behind the scenes
Ronny Dahl that would be great!! Thanks 👍
Nice footage great scenery, while driving who operates the drone?

+Rezblade I fly and a passenger from another vehicle drives

Ronny Dahl oh great idea for the longer trips so you don't have to worry
What's ya thoughts on doing the coil rear conversion on the 79 Ronny??
I would like to know too
+Leon Semark no im not, I can't afford the kit and I don't see why and when I'd really need it when I have lockers front and rear plus a winch and a good crew that joins me on most trips. I feel like a stock 4x4 cam do these trails where the wild flowers were.
Anyone agree?

Just realised: Do you use a gyroscope with your gopro? It is always so steady,it's unbelieveable...
+TiMeJ34nD1T yep I sure do, not a fan of shakey footage

What fuel usage is Andrew getting out of the FJ per 100ks
Hey Elis, I am the owner of the FJ on this video and for this specific trip i was averaging 18L/100km without all the gear i would average 16l/100km ( this is real world testing and not just figures from a brochure.

Andrew Phan thank you, exactly what I was after
love the work youve done on your FJ! Could you tell me if the engine on this is Dual VVTi or just VVTi?
Andrew Phan what did you do for LED headlights? All replacements I'm finding aren't approved and they all have halos. And I'm not sure about putting an LED bulb in a traditional housingZ
Zach Novosad I have direct led build replacement in the tradition headlights
Hey Ronny what brand of drone you running... mate
+Darren William Sweeney DJI phantom 3 pro
hey mate, how do you pin you tent down with the tarp underneath?
He does not peg it down
Kevin Gatt he said in his first part of the episode that he doesn't pin it down he just uses his own weight
Kevin Gatt that's what "free standing" means. It holds upright on its own, you can peg it to help withstand strong winds for instance.
you should put what time of year you travelled there at the start of vid
Beau02 would've been mid to late August
+Beau02 good point will try to remember that in future videos
or under
Hey Ronny, thanks for the sticker :D
Gonna put it in the windshield of my car later this week: i.imgur.com/f13st4J.jpg
(the white one)
awesome love those wide guards, what size rubber have you got on that and does it help with the snow driving?
