    What about high speed stability?
Many people complain about it, when going 160 or 200km/h, then it starts to swing from left to right.

With those panniers, being different sizes, it may happen with certain tires( tkc70). Other than that, no.

I had the 2016 in grey and traded it for a 2020 1290 SAS. Should'a kept the 2016.

@@jetlee7743 The 2016 shipped with spoke wheels which are a stronger rim and can take more off-road punishment. If you hit a rock the wrong way and crack a cast wheel, your air is gone and your walking. These are adventure bikes so your walking out of the woods. Also a bent spoke wheel can be re-bent to get you home providing you ride with a 12v compressor. The 2016 has a metal key, the 2020 has a fob. I have had a few big scares on back roads where the sensor does not acknowledge the key. Even after carrying spare fob batteries and changing them out. Once the fob would not work for a week (the bike was uninsured but I start it once and a while) then it started working again. KTM had no answers but I found this was not a rate occurrence after reading many blogs. I also prefer the analogue gauges. The only thing I would miss on the 2020 is the cruise control. I owned a 2016 and now own a 2020 and the 10hp difference is negligible other than better economy (150hp).

@@deadmanprodinc agree. I have been saying since multistrada was released with spoked rims and electronic suspension that ktm made a massive mistake not offering 1290 s with spoked rims off showroom floor. My 14 1190 S has spoked rims and I can do off-road without concern of wheel damage. To me, multistrada v4 strikes best balanced package. Ktm r and s model forces rider to choose strictly how they want to ride.
Ktm is letting other manufacturers catch up and also ignoring reliability concerns. They also refuse to make a lightweight 701/690 adventure and now ducati has 698 mono and likely adventure version soon which I would immediately buy.

Hi all... i'm thinking of buying one, but a bit concern with the 'ride-by-wire' throttle mechanism. KTM has abandoned this in the newer generations of adventure bikes. So is it not as reliable or break down easily?
