Presently the small cap fund with good returns, parameters like Alpha 7.38 (better than quant), Beta 0.69, lower SD, lower churning, better Sharpe and Sortino and lowest Expense Ratio 0.33 is of Tata.

SBI small cap fund is a laggard and bad underperformer. underperforming the index by 7% or more. Nippon underperforming from 1 yr and Kotak also underperforming by 3 yrs. This is Biased analysis by Groww. Check Quant, HDFC. they have faired better.
I'm investing in SBI small cap fund direct growth
Look at Small cap 250 Quality 50 and Small Cap 250 Momentum Quality 100 Index funds also.
I think they are worth checking out

I have 1 quant small cap dir, 1 quant small cap icdw, 1 Nippon small cap. Since 2020 I redeem everyyear and reinvest again in the same fund my observation is I got 70% from quant icdw, 65% from quant small cap, 50% from Nippon. This is consistent every year.How ever Nippon is less volatile but at the end of the year quant out performs everyone even with higher risk.

But I does this only when market is going flat or going down as if the market is on bull run then I get less units defeating the idea of compounding
