5-6 is more than enough. 7-10 is too much.
There is no straight correlation between number of funds and quantum of returns. Here the panel members suggest that minimum number of funds are a sure shot way to maximum returns but more often that is not the case. If one can monitor carefully then any number of funds could be good. I am personally doing sip in more than twenty funds and my xirr is more than 30%.
Awesome! How much (in total) do u invest in sips?
If you have the capital for it it's fine. The concern is your spending a lot on the expense ratios for these much funds.
Expense ratio depend on investment amount not number of funds
I am having more than 40 funds and will add more
@@pratikkkothari3198 that's it ur are adding more funds to different funds which eats up on ur money
Pure oversight by assuming multiple funds are there due to FOMO.
Just like index funds replaces company risk , you need to also put into account the risk of amc, latency of unit alottment and latency of redemption.
As long as you are beating the max(Nifty50,Nifty Next 50,Nifty Midcap 150) +2-3% your portfolio is more than good enough. Also no focus on simplying which index to focus.
1. Three Large Cap, 2. Three Mid Cap. 3. Three Small Cap, 4 One Corporate Bond,One Banking & PSU bond, One Gilt Fund, TWo Gold Funds, That is My Portfolio.
Bad ..there is no point in 3 funds from each category
Is there any need is point. What if the AMC you choose became the worst performer for next decade@@jishnu18
Valuable information sir 🙏
Lovely discussion!!!
Good discussion
Exit a fund if underperforming for just 3-4 quarters!! That's not good advice... HDFC funds underperformed for almost 3 yrs and this year they gave bumper returns which brings there performance at par on a 5 yr and 10 yr avg...
True! Hdfc funds are like the quiet students who topped their class after no one expected😊
These are folks paid by fund houses else they would not have taken the direct names.
White room - you r right
Very good topic, well presented
Very apt topic and good opinion by experts
Well presented. Thanks
Loved the discussion
3:24 that's nonsense. Index have certain stocks in very high percentage unlike most funds.
Not a single reason is convincing
7-14 mutual funds is as good as investing in index funds. 4-5 Indian equity funds will do the job.
No it is not. Every fund will have companies at different proportion so it wont be like index.
And index will also have companies which r not performing well.
If i m paying same expanse ratio as index fund then why not invest in active funds only
It's not at all
I think this guy invested in 12 MF .. so he is saying 12
