Great video. I remember going through this exact same stretch as a kid going between Chicago and western North Carolina. An absolutely beautiful ride especially in the Fall. In 2011 I drove all 452 miles across the great state of Tennessee from east to west on I 40.
Nice video. We're going to take this trip in October. I wondered how good the highway was in the mountains. Looks like an easy trip. I'm thrilled! Visiting the Area from Arizona. So excited!
For 18 wheelers and longer trucks we gotta be on our feet when it come down to the Curves and hilly mountains going that way. Its the best Scenery ever i love my State NC!!
I don’t like that part of I40 would have to go over to Greensboro to get my loaded trailer and bring it back to Knoxville I would just go 81 to I77 just to avoid going that way really didn’t matter company driver so as long as I got my work done & on time
It's really a spectacular scenic drive. Much appreciated for all your efforts, time and money in sharing this wonderful video. However, I have a suggestion that if could insert a beautiful and soothing song, it would create a real difference. Kindly consider this. Many thanks. Best regards, Nassa
Hey stitch16261, not sure what the progress is out there. We travel full time in the RV and rarely cross back on the same path. As of yet, we've not returned that way.
I drove it pulling doubles . GOD has blessed for a very long gone time🕇🕇🕇. It's beautiful. Our nation overall is beautiful. PTL 🕊
Drove on this road back in 08 and I love the scenes and the way the road runs through up the mountains its absolutely beautiful
I don't think there is any other scenic road like this. Unbelievable and wonderful. Keep on exploring such drives. All the very best!! Nassa

I wonder how long it took to construct I-40 through there.

Drove this today- for the last time. Lol. Semis in right lane, concrete wall on my left. Miles of switchback road. Wouldn't want to hauling a trailer.

I love the ride between Asheville and Gatlinburg. And bless your heart Caty, you can flat out do some talking. Really enjoyed the ride along.
The fun state to drive thru with my rig
Let the scenery do the talking.
