The plastic hair bows are actually very accurate and not done like that just to be cheap I had some of those in the 90s for my own hair and they were plastic bows just like these 😊
I'm happy AG is finally giving a nod to the original girls and foe the collectors who just want the outfits and not needing the price tag of the orginals on the resell market. I also love they gave more for the dolls instead of just pumping out another.
Kris, how in the world do you keep dust from getting on your beautiful dolls? I don’t know of a house in this country or anywhere else for that matter that doesn’t have a terrible problem with dust getting on collectibles. Unless you lock them in a humidity controlled room or safe without air.
I ordered Julie’s school outfit and it arrived yesterday! I put it on my CYO mini me and loved it even more in person! And yes, the colorful plastic bow barrettes were all over the 1970’s. Yarn was also very post-hippie. I have Josefina and her original collection. The accessories that went with her fiesta/birthday outfit were the “heirloom accessories”. That set included a beautiful shawl, black fan, and black ribbon necklace. The outfit doesn’t look quite complete without the necklace.
I was little in the late 90s and early 2000s and my mum used to put plastic hair clips in my hair, so like others are saying they are normal common hair clips.
I found the vest and outfit to be of good quality. The vest would have been machine knit because crochet can’t be machine done. I am hoping that more AG size granny square vests show up on Etsy!
Your dolls are in such pristine shape! I can tell you take really good care of them. Can you make more videos about doll care and restoration? Thanks for the great look at these new outfits.
The red shoes are from her winter dress they were also used as her summer boots for some reason. Since they don’t make the red boots and red kinda clashes with the pink I think that’s why they changed them.
It’s completely authentic for the time period. You can see a lot of that on the Brady Bunch. They even trickled into the 80s. I was born in 1981 and had yarn hair bows
Hey, Kris. Quick alternative for Josefina's red ribbon. Just keep her braid and tie the red ribbon in to replace the one that's already in and replace the flower you had in there. (That's kind of what I planned to do once I had a Josefina to put the dress on and the dress itself. I really want her and her dress.) Also, I have a secondhand Kirsten and was wondering if you know if the re-released birthday outfit would fit a Mattel era/Pleasant Company Kirsten doll.
I got Kirsten birthday dress and I'm wanting to get the book out of the box i want to look at And reread it. You make it look so easy. J don't want to mess up the box already as it is cause as i was opening the box the tape tap took of Abit of the burgundy color of the box
I'm getting Joesafina and Addy's birthday dresses next cause I order Claudie she's on sale for $92 and she's coming in the mail do you think she's retiring?!
Thank you to everyone letting me know about the bows🩷
It was nice meeting you yesterday
Those are authentic plastic bow barrettes to the era,
The plastic hair bows are actually very accurate and not done like that just to be cheap I had some of those in the 90s for my own hair and they were plastic bows just like these 😊
Yep! Plastic hair barrettes were EVERYWHERE in the 80s too.
Yes. Plastic barrettes were a part of Julie’s era.
I like the plastic barrettes.
Oh you sweet summer child 😂... the plastic hair clips, and the yarn bow are very era accurate. I remember the plastic bows even in the early 90's.

The bow clips in Julies school outfit. The clips look very similar to the white ones that came in Molly's Christmas stocking from along time ago

The actual crochet vest would be amazing.

I also got Julie’s skating set and the school outfit. My mom takes full credit for starting the 70s skating craze.
I definitely got Julie’s school outfit and Kiersten‘s birthday outfit, glad to hear that they were both worth it!!
I put my Addy in the skating outfit and she looks adorable!

Your dolls look pristine and gorgeous. Lucky guy! 😭
1st Like! Super Excited for Your Review!
Yup, I am in love with Josefina and her birthday outfit! Your Josefina's braid is perfect!
Thanks Kris for this fun review. I loved seeing your childlike excitement over the roller skates! Adorable. 🤗
I watched Midsommar with my Kirsten about an hour ago, fantastic reference to the movie in your video!!
I would love to see a video of all the dolls in your collection!
She looks beautiful

I'm getting Julie's meet accessories because I've wanted that stupid mood ring forever and it's hard to find lol
The YARN...? idk lol 😂
Also authentic for the 1970’s.

@@LifewithKrystle interesting, thanks!
My sister had yarn hairbows in the mid to late 80s & I had the plastic barrettes 😅
In the 70s the hair buckles were cheapy looking plastic like that! That is actually accurate. I wore them as a child in the 70s, alas...
Love this, thank you for sharing!
Love your video!

How did you get Lea’s hair looking so full and bouncy?

I think there should be an American girl store in Britain. Who agrees?
👇
Nope sorry, most of us Americans don't even have an American Girl store anywhere near us. They closed most of them. 😢
@@gotzBearhugzfor real tho. I’m wondering how they don’t have a store in Wisconsin when they were created there 😂
I agree! Bc I want to move there in a few years
@@Twinflame_4 I’m glad you agree!!! Hopefully we can find more people like us who can work together to persuade American girl!😃
@@gotzBearhugz I’m sorry to hear that, it’s really sad 😞
