I've been a fan since '89 and seen NIN fourteen times. Hands down with zero doubt my favorite band of all time. Trent goes above 100% every friggin show. They're in the Hall of Fame for a reason.
I’m 51 now. My first listen was in 91. My first show was in 93(?). Some guy Marilyn Manson opened for him.
NIN did 2 secret shows in New Orleans in the mid-90s. One at a small club called Jimmy’s and the other at House of Blues.
The Jimmy’s show was the most chaotic, intense, insane thing I have ever experienced.
Somehow a friend of mine found out about it before it was announced on the local alternative station. We were in college on campus about 1 hour away and drove like maniacs to get a spot in line for tickets. No buying tix for others. ID of purchaser and name on list at the door had to match.
I think they moved the show time back 2 times. I want to say we were in line all day. Then it rained before the doors opened and they didn’t let anyone in.
By the time we got in, we were soaked, but that didn’t matter once the show started.
Never experienced a band and crowd synced up like this before. Stagediving, slamming into TR and the band on stage. No one was out of line or did anything stupid. If you got knocked down, 5 people would help you up immediately. Everyone who jumped off the stage was caught w no problem.
The entire place was on the same wavelength.
I know, cool story gramps.

For my money, “Pinion” into “Wish” into “Last” is the best 3 song opener of any metal genre EP/LP. After the electronic PHM, Broken brought the metal. The synthesis of those two albums begat his masterpiece - TDS. Nice start to an amazing career.

They just announced a tour on the west coast…..seen him 6 times best live band of all time, he’s 57 still sings like he’s 25
Ive been to over a hundred shows. 6 were nine inch nails. They are the best Ive ever seen. Foo Fighters were a close second
A "must see" band for sure. I'm flying from Hawaii to Colorado to see them in September.....and I've seem them 4 times already.

I’m glad you guys keep diving deeper into NIN and not just stopping at Closer like it’s their only song. This is one of their best and most difficult songs and so much better live than the actual studio album! Great job guys!

This was the first time they played "Last" live on tour since the 'Broken' album dropped in '92. I think that this is from the NIN/JA tour and it was one of the first times I had seen NIN with seats so that throws the audience off too. I have been seeing them since small clubs early '94 and that year went from small clubs in February to Woodstock in August and Madison Square Garden by the Fall. I count myself lucky to see NIN evolve through the years. Trent Reznor is a genius. 🤘🏼
They actually never played "Last" live ever until the 2007 tour. Then they played it again on the 2009 and 2018 tours only
finally saw them for the first time last year at ltl. was even better than i thought it was gonna be.
Broken is NIN's best album.
NIN is one of the few bands that are truly much better live. They never disappoint. I’ll be seeing them again at Rockville. 🤘🏽

Seen a lot of metal tours, among them NIN four times, and every time they have brought it at 120% intensity, this band is simply one of the premier live metal shows around.

NIN was my first big concert out of highschool, at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney Australia and omg the best time ever!!😍
In 2009, my flatmate Matt Collins and I attended a NIИ gig in Auckland, New Zealand. We missed out on the afterparty because his friend Jamie claimed that Herbert Street was in Wellington ffs.
However, the following day, Matt and I were playing Pool at the Fat Camel bar, downstairs from the backpackers we were staying at, and lo-n-behold, Trent and bassist Justin Mendal-Johnsen walked past (returning from the afterparty to their hotel room).
We shook hands with Reznor and I stated that "that was an amazing performance last night"

The 'Broken' EP this comes from is probably his nastiest work, all "100" tracks of it.

I think you'd enjoy digging into the history of Trent and NIN. For the majority of NIN's history, NIN was all Trent - every lyric, vocal, instrument, all of it. Recently, he's made his collaborator, Atticus Ross, an official member. Atticus does a lot of the mixing and producing and creative brainstorming with Trent. But at its soul, Trent Reznor is Nine Inch Nails. He still writes the lyrics, does the vocals, does the majority of the instruments, etc. He's had some amazing members tour with him throughout the years for his live performances, too. And he and the band are in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame! 😊
I was at this show. Pretty sure Holmdel, NJ. About 15 rows up to trents right. I was so frickin shocked they were playing this song all I could do was shake my fist in the air and rock out. Then, I saw em play this jam again in PHX around 3 years ago - the whole Broken album live front to back

Every time I’ve seen them it’s been such a different experience. You never know what kind of live show you’ll get. Their light show is out of this damn world.

I've seen NIN 3 times and they killed it every time. Trent is the man. Greatest musician alive, no competition.
Go see them live if you can. My favourite band ever, going to see them live again in June and I've to fly again to see them, well worth it.

If you ever do see them live... my advice: try to find tickets for 2 shows they do on consecutive back-to-back nights. they're always different. Night 1... get there 12 hours early and wait in line, try to get front and center in the mosh pit right up against the railing by the stage. Night 2.. get a seat in the mezzanine or balcony somewhere overlooking the stage from a safer distance. Very different but incomparable experiences.
Great vid.... You would 100% love their live show. NIN is a full frontal attack live! Intense and at times brutal, and always mesmerizing. If you are looking for another great live NIN, I've seen a couple of great versions of Copy Of A that rock.

I can still remember that day in 92 at band practice when our guitarist turned up with the Broken EP and blew our minds! NIN for life.
Been into NIN for decades now but only watched them live recently, what an epic show. It was the tour they did with QOTSA where it was decided each night who would headline with a coin flip.
I’ve been to a lot of concerts. NIN has been one of the very best. Incredible.

Ok you missed out big in the 90's but it is not too late lol for your next review try nine Inch nails live: beside you in time "Head Like a Hole" or "Gave Up" they both kicks A$$!!!!!!!!!! also the video for Eraser Live is AMAZING on the Downward Spiral tour from the 90's you must review that too!! Please??!! I was there and it was otherworldly with the scene projections and the guitars oh my. I can understand why Trent was a little worried the 1st time he went out there live singing the lyrics "Kill Me" over and over. I would worry the crowd would take me up on it too!

I've seen Tool, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Slipknot, and about a thousand other bands and NIN live is still the best concert I've been to and it's not even close.
A few recommendations - Now I'm Nothing/Terrible Lie(the old or new version live both are badass), The Big Comedown from the lights in the sky tour, the Fragile from the MTV music awards, and the Only Time from Woodstock 99
Ya'll still need to listen to Narrow Head. I suggest starting with album Satisfaction. They bring back 90's heavy shoegaze.
I've seen over a dozen NIN shows live and I have never once been disappointed. They have a tour lined up right now if you can score tickets. I'll be seeing them in Berkeley in September.

I’ve been a die-hard fan since Pretty Hate Machine dropped over 30 years ago. I can’t believe it has been that long. NIN has a sound that can only be found through NIN. I may listen to NIN more than any other band. Also, the album “Last” is on (Broken) is my favorite - followed by The Fragile. The drummer was going HAAM! 🤘

I’ve seen them six times live and I love their live stuff better than studio versions and the concerts are an experience especially they way he does all the visuals my first concert was aatcb….last was hesitations marks tour with all the others in between lights in the sky wave goodbye etc never a dissappointment

I know you need your Opeth fix. But you probably got so hooked you listened to every song already. the Frontman of Opeth was in a side project called 'Bloodbath' for a few albums. A good song to start with would be 'Mouth of Empty Praise'. It slaps.

Let me explain something to you, NIN is my favorite band of all time but they're unfortunately not the best band of all time. The get beat out by the smallest of margins by Rage. Rage is in my top 4 favorites of all time and only a Rage concert has more energy than this. And I'm talking about NIN in his prime even. It's Rage #1 and NIN #2 as thee best, most energy live bands of all time. Oh, and I think I'd put Prodigy at #3. Luckily for me I've seen all 3 live so I know wtf I'm talking about lol Feel free to argue and be wrong.
