Best part of the opening scene is how Stan briefly glances over at Cartman, wondering if he set Gordon up to be killed, only to get a confused shrug in return. For once, Cartman had nothing to do with an attack on someone he hated. 😅

funny story about this episode- its supposed to be a parody of 'avatar' but matt and trey hadn't seen the movie yet, only that people kept telling them it was basically 'dances with wolves' (it totally is almost beat for beat) but with blue characters- hence they came up with dances with smurfs.
I mean, sure, I can see the Dances With Wolves comparison, but honestly it feels more like Fern Gully. Which I guess is like Dances With Wolves for kids set in rainforest with fairies and a message about protecting the environment.
@@KamiNoBaka1 ferngully is a banger but yeah, same premise, just presented differently. You should watch dances with wolves and avatar side by side - the parallels are crazy, especially in the arrangement of scenes. If you’ve ever seen scream and scream 4, you’ll notice 4 repeats a lot of the same scenes from the first one but in a different order. Avatar does something similar with dances with wolves.

10:37 Not gonna lie, I totally relate to the students here - I remember when I used to watch movie reviews as a teenager and the reviewer said, "Why should I care about this character?" and I thought they meant they *hated* the character and wanted to see them die, rather than merely lacking a sense of attachment to the character, like they're some random nobody they bump into on the street.
Yeah, I still sometimes get confused with that. Just mostly due to how it comes off is that you hate the character or thing, not that you simply just don’t care about it.

You absolutely need to watch the episode "Dead Kids", the first episode of Season 22 - It's one of my favourite episodes, and it was the first one I watched where I had the satire and genius of South Park hit me in real time rather than rewatching it years later, I was watching the entire episode with my jaw dropped
It makes me sad to think that the darkest joke TFS ever wrote was ruthlessly stolen by South Park two years earlier.

This is the third time I watch this episode/reaction and I love it. I don’t understand why most of people have forgotten this one but is one of my favorites… because I hate Avatar: a story of a guy who has to infriltrate an enemy group but switch side because of a woman? Come on, Cameron. That plot has been told MANY times. Even, if you switch genders, is the Titanic plot. BUT, in the opposite shore: there is a movie witch ending was brutal and South Park made a huge reference: Insheeption.
