What a beautiful place thanks for taking us on your run you must be very fit to run that distance The jumper you knitted is lovely the colour suits you so well Thank-you 😊
What a wonderful video!. Thank you so much for taking us along. The sweater you made is a classic. I hear that this color is most popular for 2024. They call it a cherry red, I think? It's beautiful with your hair and complexion.
When my dad was growing up in England, he and his dad would sail across the English Channel to Portugal and spend whole weekends there. From the stories I've been told, it really was an amazing place. More than 50 years later, it looks like it still has all its original allure. Thank you for taking us on this adventure! ☺️😉
Thank you so much for taking us along on your run through Portugal! I think you know we live in Alabama, but my best friend and her husband live in Washington DC and they just got back home from vacationing in Lisbon. They loved it there! Wish you and lived closer… I think we would be friends! I love running and of course I think you know I love dachshunds as well! 💕🌸🌸Happy Saturday!
Ah that’s so cool you also love to run! I imagine it’s pretty warm these days in Alabama on runs - I haven’t been there in ages, but I remember it being super lush and beautiful and the food was wonderful! Definitely, I always love seeing your messages💕😉 I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
My husband, Bill, and I grew up on good ol’ southern cooking!… lots of meats and vegetables! We try to eat more of a Mediterranean diet now! Yes, it’s too hot to run during the summer,; an evening stroll is better from May-August! We live in the northern part of Alabama; almost in Tennessee. What part of Alabama did you visit?
That’s cool you’ve visited North Alabama! Yes, it’s very green here, during the warm (and HOT!) months of April-September; all that green grass and flowers comes at a price though, as we get about 55 inches of rain each year! We actually get sleet, freezing rain and snow during the winter here because we get so much precipitation here and our high temps average 48 degrees F and average lows around 32F but it can get much colder than that; last January we had 2 straight weeks of highs in the 20’s F and lows near zero F. Of course, our snow is measured in inches, not feet like Canada! 😃 We went to Wisconsin last July to escape the summer heat. I think we are going to Vermont/ New Hampshire this July to escape the heat!
Oh my goodness, that is a lot of rain! I didn’t realize it could get that cold in AL too. Also pretty cool that you come up north to escape the heat! I’ve only ever heard of the reverse 😄 I’m from Pennsylvania originally, and there are a lot of snowbirds that go to Florida in the winter.(:
Oh that’s so exciting! I haven’t been to any yarn shops in the Azores or Porto unfortunately, although I imagine Porto has some nice ones! It’s a super cozy city for knitting☺️ In Lisbon, I would recommend Retrosaria Rosa Pomar - if you like more rustic yarns, they make some really beautiful ones. And the other Portuguese brand I love is Rosários 4, which they also carry. I hope you guys have a wonderful time!
That bridge is strikingly reminiscent of the Golden Gate Bridge. 😯 Lovely knit in an amazing colour. ♥
Thanks, Sage! Yeah, both bridges were designed by the same architect 🙂
@@calicoradio_knits Oh, interesting, I did not know. Thank you. 😊

We are heading to Portugal (Lisbon, Porto and the Azores) and I would love to know which yarn shops you recommend I visit (please!).

@@calicoradio_knits thanks so much! What was the yarn shop you went to in Caiscais?
No problem! It was called The Craft Company. 🙂
A 30km run? Makes my 10km walk seem very sad.
No way, movement is movement! And these 30km runs are definitely outliers 😄
