This was my first favorite Sleep Token song. One of the best drops in the entire discography. And it’s amazing live. Some prerecorded tracks (the synth parts), but the Vesselettes do amazing harmonies and the drums are all live with electronic pads. II does this song in his drumeo video and it’s awesome to watch.
Ive given up trying to convert my old 90's obscure metal fan buddies to Sleep Token. Baffles me that they dont like it... Their loss, i guess. This band has been truly liberating for me. I finally shelved The Downward Spiral, Lateralus etc (for now) and have had this collective on playlist for months now.
Another absolutely incredible song and reaction.There isn't one song sleep token has made that i don't love.The beauty of their music is you can hear a song and it just fits perfectly into what your feeling or the head space your in.Thank you guys... Worship 🫶
I can tell Fynn is connecting way more with Sundowning than the EPs. I like the vocal breakdown, there are after effects on his voice in production and that’s all intentional Vessel has to be heavily involved in post-production I would think. He did all the instruments besides drums so he has a complete vision. How he sounds is absolutely part of that. “I might break and bend to my basic need to be loved and close to somebody” oof. That’s honest. Vessel, alone again, is forced to think about what is truly beneficial for him. He knows he didn’t have much by way of love most of his experience. He had little by way of examples of how to navigate healthy relationships “where I was raised there were no streetlights, just pitch black and passing headlights”. It was chaotic and left him with just a basic need he is running on now. He struggles in striving for a complex or real love because of this basic need to accept the abuse he receives as love itself. “Where we met there must have been dark signs, omens in your skies.” Those signs he himself is unable to see without the headlights he wished he had learned to see with long ago. It’s too late now though, Vessel is in the thick of it now. I think he is starting to identify the patterns here. He is seeing that maybe he is responsible for allowing this for himself, albeit not in a vein that he can help himself in any way. “I miss the man I was the moment we left off and I hate who I have become every time that I wake up.” Each time Sleep leaves him everything floods back. She is an escape from the trauma he can’t live down. But he also can’t lie and pretend that is not what he is using her to be. He wants her to be more but acknowledges maybe this is all she has for him. “When we met, I could see dark signs” he is admitting he knew this was dangerous when it started, and maybe so far as to regret the entire debacle. I’d put money on him having a tendency to relish in the chaos. But he is where he is and Vessel is not a quitter, he still loves her. He thinks he just needs to stop asking for more and start demanding more. Worship.
Yes, I am getting more into these! They are starting to grow as a band and their song writing is showing this! I'm loving the experimental element to it all too! Your breakdowns are so good! Can't wait to go back to all these once we are done with the music! Thank you for all the time spent on writing these!!

It’s an incredible song and illustrates Vessel’s songwriting versatility. Also geeking out to all the references to obscure bands. Sleep Token’s ‘Teeth of God’ US tour in April / May has Empire State Bastard in support which includes Mike Vennart of Oceansize. Can’t wait for the next instalment! W O R S H I P

Once we get settled I'll start reacting to some really interesting stuff that I've found out over the years, there's some awesome British bands that would have influenced sleep token that need to be out in the TH-cam ether!! Thank you for the love! We are actually in the states in May but we will be in the Vegas/Phoenix area, we could potentially make the red rocks show but I'm sure tickets would be mental!! Sadly, all of the Red Rocks tickets are gone. That's where I was so desperately wanting to see them myself! There's nothing in the world that compares to Red Rocks as an outdoor venue. If you guys ever get the chance, see a show there, then hang out and see some of the gorgeous sights in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Grab a rental car, and go through Rocky Mountain National Park. It's absolutely jaw dropping and awe inspiring. I live in Fort Worth, Texas and my hubby and I make trips up that way as frequently as we can just for Red Rocks shows, and the mountains. If we're not traveling to the Eastern Rockies we're going to the Western Rockies to hangout along the Million Dollar Highway that connects Durango, Silverton, and Telluride, Colorado. So many things to see and do along there as well! Can't wait for you two to introduce us to some of your favorite bands as well! Oceanside is one I've never heard of, but I always have room for more music in my collection.
When we saw them in Phoenix we were right by the sound booth because I'm a wheelchair user. The bass was so intense that it was shaking the balconies above us, and the whole venue honestly. They kinda freaked out and had to turn it down 😂 but I loved it. When you can feel music in your soul aanndd in your bones 💚💙💜
I'd actually heard about them many years ago and was at a Download they played maybe in 18 or 19, we were gonna check them out but didn't! So gutted now!!! Thank you for being here with us
Tastes differ.....I don't get the hype around this band....I hear a lot of copying from bands I grew up with and the voice(s) don't move me or touch me at all...I find it mediocre at most but that's just me I suppose!😎
