- Well, I'm at the last two stages of the game. I have to take back my word on the English translation, It's pretty bad, too many typos and grammatical errors. I'm not even that proficient in English but even I can tell.
But as long it's not SAO HF levels of atrociousness , that's good enough. - เกม

Shimazaki really nailed Touya's voice. So much hot blood. I never imagined him being like this in J.
It's kind of funny when remembering J. If you choose Calvina as main pilot, and if you choose the last route that finishes up Brain Powerd's story line, you'll have Kouji being chewed out by the girls for him not understanding why Yurika was getting cold feet/nervous of kissing Akito (since she had been constantly chasing Akito, trying to flirt with him). However, if you choose Touya and go on the say route, you'll have Touya (and not Kouji) saying those lines, and the 3 girls will chew him out. Looking back at it, after the character development, you might say Kouji and Touya became somewhat like brothers....

Melua + Granteed is the best combo with Toya and I will debate this until the end of time. That Infinity Caliber is so unique plus that theme slaps hard.
Melua bonus as sub pilot also fits better on granteed in my opinion...

I know I'm five years later but I get the feeling the Granteed (+ Dracodeus)is based on the UK/Britain(England, Scotland, Wales, and North Ireland) or to be more specific King Arthur, because of the fact the Fury(SRW J/MD alien) all live on an island(Or the moon to be more accurate) and have Knight themed Machines. Also the Infinitycalibur just screams Excalibur in my head. Plus you could say that the three girls represent the 3 main counties that make up the UK, Tenia/Red(England), Melua/Blue(Scotland) and Katia/Green(Wales).
The princess could probably represent the Royal family and the Basieus(The dragon) could probably represent the whole dragon vs knights stuff.

if you talking about touya in SRW J then yes. he is shinji Ikari because he need someone show the way. but this moon dwellers touya get "Kick Started" with many things. seeing his dad dead in front of him, not knowing what granteed is but he saw that father do an oath to pass down the granteed, and he know that he a burden at first and want to do something about it with his own.

Other than the battle dialogue, is the menu, unit name, or senshins translation decent atleast
The irony is that everything else is mostly fine, even the intermission has less errors then the battle conversations.
Of course, the translation for certain things are questionable. Hot blood = Valour and Soul translated as Animus.
As Animus? Wait, what? How the? That will take some time getting used to. Although i did see some basic errors during the text aswell, but it isnt as bad as i expected. '' that is even worst'' comes to mind.
I am used to Valor & Soul, never heard Hot Blood though, took a bit to get used to Animus also lol.
Its cool and all but somehow i wanna see the infinity calibur go against the zankantou...

I think what they needed was a communication with the guys from Namco, a fucking editor, another fucking editor, more QCs, some beta testers to see some typos, and then release the game.
Is not like they made this with USA in mind, it was for the Asian region where people speaks English, the loophole to let the west play SRW games in english is just a bonus.
More like they did this in just a few months just to release it as quickly as possible, so having QA will only slow down their progress. This is Scamco we are talking about, so it's nothing new. And let's not forget that each SRW game has as much text as a visual novel has, so the amount of errors are understandable. They definitely need to patch it later though.
Hopefully by the time V releases they have a better idea on what to do.
So which girl is best for this machine?
For min-maxing? Tenia. She has Acceleration and Granteed is incredibly slow otherwise. ESPECIALLY before it becomes Dracodeus. So much so that it's basically useless and will never reach the frontline before the enemy dies to your other units.
Melua, Granteed is a super robot so it should able to tank anything, plus she grant extra movement. Tenia is good if you want to build a heavy hitter mech. Katia is for hitting range, but this girl pair much better with Bellzelute.

The more I think about it, Draco Salvo would have maybe made more sense than Draco Slave.
Yes, but Touya is also throwing a ton of English words into his attacks. In fact, it's basically all written in English anyway. Slave isn't out of the running just because there's a Japanese word.
or it could really just be engrish 'Draco Slave' because remember he's a hotblooded teen piloting a giant super robot and he probably is thinking that it would sound like a really cool finishing attack name.

Depends. Normally, Limit Over. However, for finishers, it changes depending on the sub pilot. Melua: Sweet Suite. Katia: Resolution. Tenia: Powerful Eater.

To be fair, Asian releases of games with English have been more Engrish, but at least it's not as bad as Crimson Gem Saga's Asian release.

Depends really on what set of sprits and bonus you prefer, but either girls are fine.

Melua best girl, but I will admit she has some of the more boring final attack combos available, particularly with GD, while I may consider her a boring character Tenias GD finisher is probably the one I like the best, wish it was attached to a character I could actually stand

Nope, I'm not playing on Beginner. If you must know I simply used Hotblood(valor in this game) for all attacks.The final attack is event damage. Ironically,the story with so much text has the least errors. The battle convos are the one mostly riddled with errors.
I heard there were hints for the upcoming story including Cobray and Selena in Moon Dwellers so can we expect to see the Alpha 3 story to be the upcoming arc for the next OG release? How close are we to the war against Aerogaters since I'm really eager to be able to finally get to play the Shin Ryukooh, DisAstranagant and Banbreois again.

The translation needs better QC but as long as it's still comprehensible, I'm okay with it.
Urgh, this translation. I wish I was good enough at Japanese to not need this. Still, hopefully they'll get better at this for Voyage. Either way, Granteed Dracodeus is cool, Melua is best girl and she has the best finisher.
I don't mind for the translation is but Melua's finisher is very cool! i mean attacking by the crystal meteorite, roaring from inside and explode! that was sick! also thats i love Melua
I'm just grateful that they kept the jp dubs. I got nothing against good dubs and dubbers but I imagine that it'd be a damned crime to make someone say the poorly localized battle lines with feelings (>..

I really don't like how Banpresto tends to make OG's battle animation over-dramatic. Maybe cool at the first time but it grows annoying and tedious quickly when you watch them a lot.
That's why you can switch animations off so easily with R2.
Not sure what you talking about, the animations are the best part
