If you didn't notice that Detroit Smash with Gear Shift and Fa Jin was a call back to the Deku vs Kaiju Overhaul fight it was insane and beautifully animated.
The animation was absolutely spectacular in this episode. Easily one of my top favourite episodes of the whole show. The hype and excitement was just so well executed.
You know another potential reference that I noticed last night? The sludge villain in episode one. It's subtle, and I'm not entirely sure it's actually meant to be a reference, but have you ever heard of Dororo? It's a very old anime (1969) that has a massive legacy. It's been referenced by a ton of shows over the years, and has had a couple reboots, most noticeably the 2019 version, which is what I've seen. In both the 69 and 19 version, the first demon the characters fight is a sludge monster. Given how big of a legacy Dororo has, I wouldn't be surprised if Horikoshi decided to give Deku's first villain a sludge quirk as an homage to Dororo. It would certainly fit Horikoshi's MO, considering how many other references are in My Hero. (also if you haven't seen Dororo, I highly recommend. It's a classic for a damn reason. Be warned though, it's disturbing at times.)
You can hear Deku try to say 'Ka-' indicating he was trying to say Kacchan during his breakdown.
Definitely my favorite performance from Justin so far

idk this is just a theory but when yu see em all make a fist yoichi doesn’t make a fist not wanting to hit “his brother” maybe?
There shouldn't be any more breaks until the end of the season
