    BOTH THESE DECKS ARE SO INSANELY FUN TO PILOT. Mechanic-wise, they're my top 2 favourite decks from EX-03 so it was rough having to pit them against each other in the first round, but the playtesting and filming was very enjoyable. During playtesting, it did feel like D-Brigade had an edge in this matchup tho cos it swarms so well with the new support that it naturally outspeeds 4GD most of the time. And even if 4GD pulls into some Magnadras, several times they only delayed the inevitable cos once the Brigade is set up, they can establish a solid defence with multiple Blockers so even Goldra's Security burn was nothing to fear - the decisive attack wouldn't make it through. For example, even with Security minus, multiple Darkdras with EX3 Tankdra in inheritable could still keep attacking to generate free Commandras which could be Blockers or evolve into Sealsdra Blockers. One play that I'm reflecting on though is for 4GD at 5:51 when Patamon was moved out to attack Security. Perhaps I was being too greedy and it would have been better to nurture it in the Raising Area to prepare for a follow-up offensive the next turn instead of going all-in that turn. However, there was a reason I was pushed towards that course of action - I didn't have another Trial (or Magnadra) in hand. So in the moment, I committed to drawing as much as possible to continue and complete the 4GD combo. If Magnadra had come then as I hoped, I'm pretty sure the outcome of this match would be different.

    That was a close match but Holydramon was too ashamed to show up after losing against Grandracmon xd. That Darkdramon's decoy was the mvp of this match.

    I had gut feeling that D-Brigade would win. Fun and intense duel regardless. Looking forward to seeing the other matches.

    Amazing fight as always!
    Only fair Magnadra didn't show up since it got a fight of its own against GrandDracmon
    Thou, if it wouldn't be too hard to make, you could make a loosers bracket after this tournament ends, so we see the Decks that lost more and understand them better

      Yea, I was planning to do a losers bracket match for Blue Flare VS Twilight actually, but welp life got in the way. TH-cam's just a side hobby so I can't always make everything I wanna make haha

    4GD is strong but fragile; it really needs one stack of inheritables, like Gatomon's Rush.
    Nice to see that D-Brigade can evolve from a Rookie Rush deck with just a couple of advantage cards to a really cool unique deck - the two Darkdramon cards work SO well together!

    • @rustmarrow
      @rustmarrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, so reflecting on this match a bit, I feel like there is no need to forcibly push for aggro in 4GD (after all, once set up, Goldra can burn 2 Sec). At 5:51, the ideal play would have been to keep Patamon in Raising Area and build up another stack if they had a Trial ready in hand. But unfortunately, the 4GDs' luck ran out around then so they decided to commit to aggro and draws to hopefully draw into both the Trial they needed and Magnadra to keep the cycle going. Arguably, the probability was pretty good with half the deck gone and 2 Megidras and 2 Azulongs already seen, but you know what happened...
      As for D-Brigade, I also really enjoyed seeing how much the deck has evolved since the old days. One of the best choices of past deck to support and the support itself is so on point!

      @@rustmarrow Interesting analysis! So perhaps what the deck really wanted at that point wasn't Gato or Veedra, but AeroVeedramon for Blocker.
      Hopefully at some point you'll get the chance to try out a version of the deck again to try an altered playstyle, see if that goes better.

    Have you experimented at all with Dynasmon in this deck? He searches top 6 and isn't restricted by color for what it can grab, not to mention that it trashes the cards you don't take afterwards so I think it could be a really solid option for this version of the deck that ramps up to goldramon and aims to win off its effect.

    • @rustmarrow
      @rustmarrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a really cool idea! Didn't even think of that, thanks! For this tourney I decided to go with pure 4GD cos I was quite satisfied with its performance during playtesting

  • @liquid47
    @liquid47 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I might be looking at this wrong but for Four Great Dragon's on the last turn assuming you had Tinkermon in hand at the start, I feel a play that could of given you a chance was going for Megidramon to trigger the decoy, then tinker the Darkdramon Ex3 so it can't do any checks, leaving the opponent to get 2 memory for their turn which atleast lets you have a chance if they didin't have a 2 play cost in hand, always some amazing matches keep em coming.

    • @rustmarrow
      @rustmarrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You couldnt, Tinkermon can only target up to Lv5 so Darkdra is out of its range. Thats why the Decoy was so menacing!

      @@rustmarrow Dam my bad sorry about that, I must've got the BT6 Tinkermon and BT10 Tinker and just fused them together in my head, always fun to watch though thanks for the amazing matches.

    Would you consider playing 2 Ultimate flare by cutting out 1 BT3 sealsdramon and 1 BT3 darkdramon???

    • @rustmarrow
      @rustmarrow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think its viable depending on how you want to play, but as you might be able to tell from my recipe, I dont think new D Brigade needs to worry that much about what the opponent is doing. For me at least, I just want to draw into the cards I need asap and attack the opponent as many times as possible, with the EX3+BT4 Darkdra combo ready if I need it. If youre thinking of running Ultimate Flare for dealing with bosses that the deck cant deal with and enemy swarms, I feel like Milleniummon and/or Kongou would be more efficient. Oh and of course, classic Dexmon. But I refuse to play him with the Brigade
