UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that there is a way to view the dislikes in the backend of TH-cam. As in, on the analytics dashboard for creators to see. With that said, I still think it should be brought back for all to see. Just my opinion.

The problem there is not only good or bad content there is also true or false content in concepts like learning programming, engineering, and so on and showing the dislike button in these cases is very important for the learners.
This will fall on deaf ears. Sadly youtube want to protect corporations videos from getting ratio'd when they do something scummy and sadly the people suffer

I thought dislikes were still visible for content creators on the backend. For everyone else you can install a plugin called "return youtube dislike" that brings it back
Maybe I’m blind. Which is totally possible. But I think it should be Visible to all. Imagine someone makes an offensive video, you won’t know till you actually see it. No warning, no precursor, outside of comments of course, which can be disabled. I don’t know, something about it bugs me.

As an example the other day I saw a livestream from "Johnny Depp official" with the title "why I am dating my lawyer" or something. The video turned out to be an old interview as he was talking about his upcoming film fantastic beasts. There was a QR code supposedly from Elon Musk saying something about bit coin. There was also no other content on that channel so this was obviously part of a scam. The chat and comments were also turned off so no-one could comment about it and warn others.
There was a dislike button for this video and pushed it and I’ll tell you why too. I personally, can’t stand it when people record videos in their cars and even more so while they are driving. This is just one person’s opinion. I love your content and I’ll continue to watch and get so much value from your content.
I appreciate the feedback! I personally don’t mind it, obviously, but I understand that it might rub someone the wrong way. Especially because you can’t see what or where I’m driving or know that I feel very safe doing so in that specific situation. Eitherway, thanks!

For those that don't know. There are browser extensions that bring the dislike function back. Brave, Chrome, Firefox have it.

Exactly. It helps stop this and puts up red flags. I think it was a big mistake to remove it.
