Went and looked at a KRX yesterday. With that rebate they have going on right now, they are one heck of a deal! I am curious how well that seal is working on the box? Drives me crazy when everything is full of dirt.
So far it’s pretty good. Seal is so cheap I’ll probably test a few other ones as well. This last trip had some decent dust the box kept it out pretty well.
I don’t see the sun causing much problem unless the machine sits outside all the time. If that was the case everything else would be going bad as well. 👍 -Garrett No Dave it’s not!!!!
A great install, looks clean and fits well! 👍. Another TH-camr named Larry Reamey installed a box like this one but his was already sealed and used thumbscrews with fender washers. Then he could remove and install the box quickly, Thought that part was really cool.
Just watched his vid. He put in a little different box but looks good. So I used existing holes so no new holes were drill out. Also with the setup you can remove box in 30 seconds with a socket. I looked at his box awhile back when I did this vid, but the one I found seem to have a little more cargo room. Either way his setup looks nice as well. 👍 -Garrett
Hey Garrett I seen that you added a gas can onto that storage box . How did you mount that and are you happy with the outcome. I have the same box and also have a can I’d like to mount...

It still amazes me that a company (even Kawasaki) hasn't made a box that has the same footprint as the KRX's round bed and utilize the entire space....one made in conjunction with the tailgate box and one as a standalone.
That looked like a fun trail you showed at the end of the video. Where was it at? We are headed to Sand Hallow for spring break is there anywhere else in St George you would suggest going?
I went looking after your last video and found it on Amazon. Couldn't wait. It's in and fits great. It low enough to add a 2 gallon flat fuel tote and still see over it.

The lower latch bracket should be turned around so it curves down to better keep the rubber latch from popping / sliding off.
The lower latch works perfect the way it is. We have never had an issue with it coming off in two years.
Will this box fit with the factory sub?
Yes it should work.
What thread is the bolt you had to buy to hold the box in?

Will this box fit with the Kawasaki storage box tailgate?
From the look of it yes. You have some room to push this box back a couple of inches.

The only problem I have with using those rubber straps is that the sun (esp here in AZ) will destroy them. I think I would use all-metal latches.
Garrett's machine doesn't see the sun much. It's a garage princess. Ha ha ha ha!

Looks like a good box, Do you have problems with the lid hold dirt or water with the lid not being flat? Thank you for the good videos
It holds some but cleans up easy and after spraying the top off I just lift it once to get the water off . -Garrett
Are you able to put a smaller cooler inside or on top?
I put one inside and now I have a roto pack on the top. So small cooler on one side and tools on the other. -Garrett

Why not reverse the latches so it's easier to un latch the lid due to the truck box being in the way?
I have plenty of room to get to the latches. If I was to run the trunk tailgate than probably a good idea to reverse them. 👍
I may have missed the link but where do I get one of these boxes and the latch system? Seems to be the best I've saw yet.
