Good to see another Honda CB400N. I bought my CB400N 1982 model new in South Africa. I brought it with me to the USA in 2015. Here they don't know the CB400N so spare parts are a problem.

That's cool how you took it to the states, there wouldn't be many of them over there.

From my research a CB400N is related to a CB400T which is called the Hawk in North America, I own a 1980 CB400T and from what I can tell a lot of the parts are interchangeable

CM400 is literally the same bike, just different style. Also the CB400t Hawk is the same. There is no issue of spare parts, just issue of knowledge.

Still kind of getting my head around anything from the 80's being classic, where has time gone. I'm starting to appreciate small displacement rides, it's nice keeping my licence and just enjoying the ride.

Thrashed mine (1981) since 1986 when i bought it! I have travelled over 90k on it. Its a screamer ported, angrier cam, 2 into 1, revs to 12k no problem! Trouble was with the mods i did clutch slip was an issue! Still got it run, and rego on hold till i decide to take the mud knoblies of both front and rear (been pulling irrigation pods around my farm) lol digs good trenches though 😁😁

I had one -82 model. My brother had the Suzuki gsx 400e, that was more cool, looked fantastic from front with large round headlight on the slim, narrow bike, and it sounded better, and had better fuel economy, but I liked my Honda. A basic cycle with no plastics covering all things. Thanks for memories!

It sounds great! I miss riding older bikes like that. They were dirt cheap back home but they are really expensive here in Japan.

I rode my 1980 cb400 the other day,200 km in just over an hour, top speed seemed to be around 140kph

I was just about to ask where are you from, but having read the comment above, you are in
New Zealand. The speedo in kph instead of mph gave it way, along with you spending Dollars
rather than Pounds. But the scenery looks similar to here in the UK. I had all three variants
of this bike, although 250ccs rather than 400ccs. But both bikes were the same, only the 250
had sleeved down bores for our 250 "Learner Bike" limit. The "Entry Level" on this bike in the
US was also 400ccs. But, 250ccs was all we could get without a "Full Licence" I had the 250
Dream (Hawk in US) the 250 SuperDream (Hawk in US) and the CM250 Custom. All had the
same engine, a 360 degree twin (Pistons rising and falling together) which Honda overcame
by using a chain driven counterbalance. Suzuki had a gear driven one on their GSX250. But
both bikes were very smooth to ride. You just had to adjust the counterbalance chain on the
Honda once in a while, otherwise the engine became very noisy.

I had 2 of those, they're ok apart from poor fuel economy. My friend was getting far better mpg on his VT500E. For some mad reason they dropped the VT500E in 1989 and reintroduced the 450 Superdream.

It was just a GoPro hero three silver. In my opinion a really good model as very simplistic. Thanks for watching
