I think you explained in a quite difficult way, I have tried to make a table with them, so it´s more visual and ergo easier to memorize. Tell me if there is anything wrong :) Singular: Dual: Plural - I: "jaz" - We two (male duo / male + female duo): "midva" - We (male group / male + female group): mi - You: "ti" - We two (female duo): "midve" - We (female group): me - He: "on" - You two (male duo / male + female duo): "vidva" - You all (male group / male + female group): vi - She: "ona" - You two (female duo): "vidve" - You all (female group): ve - It: "ono" - Those two (male duo / male + female duo): "onadva" - They (male group / male + female group): oni - Those two (female duo): "onidve" - They (female group) : one
It’s not complicated, actually! I just figured it out, it’s like saying we two / you two / they two, but in one word, midva = mi + dva (dva = 2) and onidve = oni + dve / 2 and vidva = vi + dva and vedve = ve + dve etc, so I can finally understand the logic behind the duals, and Old Norse also has duals, but most other languages don’t! Slovenian is awesome, and there are some similarities between Slovenian and Hungarian, for example, in pronunciation, and certain words, and some grammar related things and patterns are similar, and I even noticed similarities between Slovenian and Dutch / Norwegian / Swedish etc, including the way they tell the time, and the numbers (five and twenty etc, same as in Dutch, vijf-en-twintig, and German also has this system) and some words, and I noticed that some Slovene words also have the IJ letter combination, but it’s not pronounced the same way as in Dutch, but still, it’s nice to see all the similarities!
You’re doing great! Very helpful videos!!
Thanks Sandra, this video makes it really helpful and easy to understand! You're doing a great job, congrats!
My favorite lessons, by far 🙌🏻💪🏻😍😍😍😍

Thank you for the vizualization! (But I think she explained it good but yeah) :D
From a Portuguese speaker perspective that was actually quite easy to understand. 😀
Amazing, I'm surprised!
By the way, it (ono) is for both sexes like in english or it depends on the thing in particular? Thanks.
and there is more option to use for vedve or medve you can also say vidve or midve
Never heard about Me and Ve before, hvala!
So, Slovene has two different types of plural: plural (more than two people) and dual (two people). Interesting and complicated as well 😍😧😕
Pretty much, yes. 😆
